Terrible service. I traded in a flip 5 in excellent condition only to be told that the frame was damaged and I needed to pay an additional amount.

I emailed the company several times (in fact I have lost track how many times) just saying can this be investigated further and can I raise this as an official complaint. Every response just said the phone was broken. Not once did they attempt to investigate (I know this as responses where virtually instant) and they just ignored any mention of an official complaint.

I have dealt with Samsung for several years but this is enough for me to move away from their products. I know they use a third party company (MTR) who seem to be the problem (just look at reviews for MTR as they are really bad as well). Samsung need to find a better partner for this as it is damaging their reputation.

One word of advice, if you have to use this service make sure you video the device from every angle, showing the IMEI number as well on the screen. Also date stamp and show the phone going into the packaging. I am still not sure that would make a difference but at least its some insurance. Better still just don't use the service, I know I won't use it again.

I am happy for Samsung to contact me by phone to discuss how unhappy I am with this (as I couldn't easily find a way to speak to them)

Traded in my S22 Ultra. Mint condition and everything. But I received an email from Samsung trade-in and was told that the back panel was lifted up. I was asked to pay £100 for lowering the value of my trade-in. It was ridiculous. I have a picture of the phone before wrapping and sending it off, but I couldn't really see the side of the back panel. I just paid it off to avoid the headache and stress. Please DO NOT EVER do a trade-in with Samsung! BEWARE OF THIS SCAM! I didn't even ask for my Fold 7 to be replaced because I don't want all the drama with returning, inspecting, waiting, and then being told that my replacement will be delivered, God knows how long.

5 phones traded in,within last 12 months, no issues, have got full trade in value for all of them. Always take video of packing up the phone and sealing up the bags in case of dispute with royal mail. Happy days

Never ever Trade In with Samsung, They will always find a fault in your old phone and blackmail you if you don't pay the money your new phone will be remotely disabled. You will have no option to pay because you have no way of contacting them and asking for the old phone back. This is a new Scam Samsung has been running !!!

Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish. I ordered a new Samsung S10 ultra tablet and at 20% off which was fantastic to start with. The trade in price for my S8 ultra was £380 which was also very good. I received my new tablet the very next day and details on how to send in my trade in tablet. I boxed my old tablet up in the box my new one came in, put some extra bubble wrap for safety and went to the post office. To send next day special delivery was only £7.70 which gave me peace of mind It will get there. I received an email the very next day to say it had arrived safely and the day after that another email to confirm my order was now complete and to enjoy my new tablet. What is there not to like? It's an absolutely fantastic service and I haven't got people knocking my door trying to buy my old tablet. They gave an extremely attractive trade-in value on my old tablet and to me it was a no-brainer. I know Samsung do not do the trade-ins they use a third party company that this company does take criticism but, I cannot fault them. Thank you for a painless experience and I love my new tablet.

After 5 months had the value of my trade in taken from my bank no correspondence to say they were doing this and no correspondence to say they had not received my phone. Wanted me to send them proof of postage, but sorry, after 5 months, I don't have it.

Traded-in S23 Ultra valued £650 for a new S24 Ultra directly from Samsung UK. I didn't use the display at maximum brightness for majority of the times. Sent in the device without any original packaging, if anything wrong with the order and return was initiated they would have returned the device without any original packaging anyways. Everything went smoothly without any problems as always. For reference this is directly from SAMSUNG UK website not verytradein.mtr.co.uk as some people here have dealt with them.

Please make sure you choose the best option which applies to your trade-in devices after carefully examining your extensively used device. If unhappy with the device sent asked for return and try selling to CEX, MUSICMAGPIE or ENVIROFONE, see if they are telling you the same if not please update your review here that you tried selling again and the process was successful but verytradein.mtr.co.uk was at fault for sure.

Retrospective review - occurred April-May 2022, now looking for a new phone and wanted to add my story to the list.

Bought a S22 in April 2022 with an offer £150 off with a trade in.

They lost the trade in phone, bricked my phone remotely like ransomware until I paid £150. I needed the phone for work thus begrudgingly had to pay in the end.
Later admitted they found the phone, refused a refund of the £150 leveraged out of me. Sent me back the trade in that apparently didn't exist.

I now don't buy Samsung anything.

I Know there was nothing wrong with the phone when I sent it to them.It looks like they do this to everyone who trades in there phone.Be aware I tried to complain but can't get anywhere.I have always had samsung phones and tablets washing machines.But after this experience won't be buying any of there products intje future. Feels like I've been scammed by them. I suppose they will lose out in the end if they do this to all there loyal customers so be aware.

I traded in an old S20 for a new S24. The price offered from Samsung was reasonable but not exceptional. I did the trade as it seemed convenient. I soon received an email pointing out a small scratch next to the lens and insisting that I pay an additional £50 or I would have my new phone blocked. Please deal very carefully with this company.

WOW I wish I had read these reviews before I traded my S20 in with this team when I purchased an S24 ultra.
For reference in case of response my reference is 1410148.
The trade in team claim my traded in phone has screen burn. They claim the navigation bar is darker than the screen (which the navigation bar shows darker against a white background on EVERY screen. They also claimed there was an image imprinted (burnt into the screen) on the phone. They sent me pictures of the phone on the "about" screen, pointing to the so called image which looks nothing more than a thumb print. I repeatedly asked them to show me clear images of the phone they repeatedly responded telling me it is clear to see. Well! It's not clear to me or anybody I have shown the pictures to!! No email response has a name to it, I have repeatedly asked for a call from a manager and they keep telling me to contact customer services to put in a complaint. I have already tried this and was told to wait for an email which I have not recieved. I refuse to call them again as it is not a freephone number!!
This has been going on since the 13th of March, it is now the 5th of April.

Please register my review as ZERO ! The trade in offer is clearly a Scam! They claimed my device is delaminated on the back, which is
not true. They tried to charge me £75 surcharge! Scammers! There was nothing wrong with my Trade-in phone, which had always been in a case. I've lost confidence in Samsung, which I held in high esteem and always chose the brand for phone and household goods. DISAPPOINTING!!!

What a complete scam 1st time I've ever traded a phone in against a new phone. Wish I had taken picture of old phone before sending it back as once they checked it over some 2 weeks after receiving it it somehow had a cracked screen that wasn't there when sent to them. They are now demanding £50 extra for me to keep the new phone or send the new phone back. I would advise anyone either make sure you have good proof your phone is OK to show them or don't trade in with the bunch of scammers who offer you a price that they have no plan of sticking to. Won't ever trade another phone in with them again.

Purchased a new s24 ultra and sent back my s9 plus which was spotless. Anyway, a few days later they send me a screenshot of a phone with screen burn in it. Now I know my phone wasn't new but there wasn't anything like this at all. They argued to a point of being rude so I just paid the £25 they asked for. For a company so professional I will think twice before buying anything else from them.

I brought a s24 ultra, and as part of the deal via Samsung trade-in I was offered £100 extra for my old phone on top of its value (s21+). Quoted that they would pay £220 for my old phone, I accepted. Sent the phone back. A few days later got an email with adjusted offer of £150 saying that the phone had been tampered with as there was dust behind the camera lense, well the phone has never been opened up and was in near perfect condition, as was always in a heavy duty case. Seems like a scam to me, hoping you will accept the lower offer. I'll have the phone back thanks!!!

I was offered £370 for my old Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra as part of a trade-in for the new S24 Ultra.

I promptly returned my old phone when my new S24 arrived. Unfortunately, the S24 Ultra had a faulty screen and was returned for a refund.

When I queried Samsung about my trade-in, they said they'd contact their 'trade-in dept' and put the 'recycling' of my old phone on hold. Me being cynical contacted their trade-in partner and they said that there was no chance of recovering my phone once they had received it!

Emailed customer service and they said I'd get the market value for the phone back in way of a refund. I was expecting £370, No they're giving me £230.

No way did I agree to this and I am absolutely livid how they could do this to me? I'm now in the unenviable position of having no phone at all. They have no right to rip me off like this and I'm not going to accept this abysmal situation.

So ultimately, heed my advice. Do not send your old phone back until you're completely satisfied with the new one. Otherwise you'll never see your old phone again and not be offered your original agreed trade-in price in return.

Would give no stars for this experience. Husband bought me a watch for Xmas and traded in my watch. The trade in price he was given was around the £70 mark. I returned the new watch in the new year so I could get the bigger one. He emailed Samsung trade in to explain the refund, sent the refund credit note and they said its already been recycled and offered £10. I'm so confused and appalled that they think this is acceptable. This is in no way a seamless service. Why recycled within the return time frame? Really disgusting and sly and no shame about offering £10.

I should have read the reviews before going ahead with the trade in. There was nothing wrong with my trade in phone. I transferred all the data from it and factory reset it. 6 weeks after Samsung received the phone i received an email to say the phone had a blank screen and i had to pay £150 or my new phone would be blocked!!! The trade in promotion is a huge scam, don't do it.
