Barclaycard Fraud have confirmed that the first refund promised by Stuart was never carried out.

CAUTION
If you want to place an order for a shed with a company who are trustworthy and give honest customer service and actually fulfil their orders, avoid this company.

The Invoice number for the order was SS8225, this is a genuine number issued by Sheds & Shelters.

Avoid this company at all cost.
Having fully paid for a shed on 5/06/25 I was given a delivery date of 18/07/25. What followed can only be described as a fiasco which involved phone calls, emails and WhatsApp messages going unanswered. The excuses for delaying the delivery by two weeks to 1/08/25 were untruths regarding the delay of the wood supply on 15/07/25! Again the second delivery date was not achieved due to a broken down truck and a team working in East Sussex! Today, 04/08/25 I have suspended payment via Barclaycard despite being assured by Stuart Gates that a refund had been processed on 01/08/25. I have never had to deal with such a devious company as this.
UPDATE 05/08/25
Barclaycard Fraud are now investigating whether a refund has actually been issued to me as of 12noon today by Angela. So much for me not being a real customer who has paid upfront for a shed. The Invoice number for the order was SS8225.

We are deeply disappointed to report our ongoing and frustrating experience with this company. Our shed delivery was abruptly postponed due to unspecified "delays in the wood shipment."

We received a new delivery date, which was personally guaranteed in writing.

In the days leading up to the scheduled delivery, we attempted multiple times to confirm the arrangements through email, voicemail, and phone calls. Unfortunately, all of these efforts were ignored. I personally called the office over 15 times, only to be met with unanswered calls, diverted to voicemail, or, on several occasions, having the call picked up and immediately disconnected.

Given our proximity to their premises, my husband visited the site in person. The sales office was locked and unmanned. The only individual present, a warehouse worker, was unable to provide any information regarding the whereabouts of the staff or our order.

After posting an honest and understandably critical review of our experience, we were finally contacted by Angela and Stuart. Rather than addressing the issues directly, they offered conflicting explanations and what appeared to be excuses for the lack of communication and failure to deliver. Their main concern seemed to be the public nature of our feedback rather than resolving the situation itself. Following a phone conversation with Stuart, during which he assured us that they would make every effort to meet the delivery date, I removed the review, trusting their word. We were again let down when delivery failed to materialise, this time citing their vehicle being with a mechanic.

We were then offered a refund with payment to be made upon completion of the build, an arrangement that suggested some hope of resolution. However, once again, we received no further communication by the promised time.

It is now Monday, and we remain entirely in the dark as to the whereabouts of our shed, the status of our order, or even whether the company intends to fulfil their contractual obligations. Stuart assured me on multiple occasions that he would call, but those promises were not kept. As a result, I’ve lost confidence in his word.

This entire ordeal has been handled with a shocking lack of professionalism, transparency, and accountability. We are appalled. We have no choice now but to escalate the matter to Trading Standards. Based on our experience, we cannot in good conscience recommend this business.

To those considering a purchase: please be warned. This does not appear to be a reliable or operational business. We were told that all negative reviews came from a single disgruntled customer, you now have another one added to your ever-growing list!

UPDATE - I have been trying to get hold of someone in the office since half 3 today so their reply on the other bad review saying they are answering their phones promptly is a lie. They never had an issue with their phone lines other than no one being there to answer them!! Also whoever responded to this message (either Angela or Stuart) no refund has come yet and your response is laughable as this was not what we were told on the phone by Stuart. There is a whole hoard of people out there who have had the worst experience with this company. Just look on Facebook and there is a whole page dedicated to people who have not had their orders fulfilled or completed in over 2 years! I have never known a company to be so dishonest and unprofessional in all my experience.

Extremely unprofessional, as other reviews have also warned. Work is never completed, instead of communicating they tell lies. They are rude when you ask where your money has gone. Overall a very bad experience, work is months overdue and no clue if or when they will be bothered to do what they promised.
The company is a joke and we are contacting Trading Standards and CAB for legal advice.

Myself and my wife received a few quotes for a bespoke workshop. We decided to use Sheds and Shelters and we are happy we did. The design for the workshop was perfect for the space we had and the quote was very reasonable. The team was professional and worked hard while putting the building together. The job was done to a great standard, I did mention a few little bits and they adjusted them with no issues. They also explained a lot to us with really help. I’m glad we chose Sheds and Shelters, great job.

I have just received two Sheds from Sheds and Shelters from Lenham Kent. We are thrilled with them the quality is superb and the service was excellent. We are fruit growers and have bought sheds from other companies before but I will use this company again. Nothing was too much trouble

Words cannot express how unprofessional this company is. I am nearly 2 years into a modest project to build a summerhouse and it is still not complete. They ordered the wrong door, fitted damaged windows with missing handles and vents, damaged the wiring when fitting the inside cladding, broke flooring panels with reckless behaviour, painted poorly, misled details in the original agreement for the order and guilty of offering the most immature excuses when things are not done as promised. It is by far the worst consumer experience I have ever had after parting with a large amount of saving to do the work. I'm devistated!

I Have a bowed roof and leaking windows that still have not been sorted now for over 4 months I would steer well clear

Our bespoke shed was made to our exact specifications & delivered on the agreed date. The delivery & installation team were personable & efficient. They made a really good job of erecting our shed, far quicker than we could have done ourselves.

We originally approached Sheds and Shelters as we wanted to gauge the pricing between a professional company to a kit we could buy on-line.

A representative come over to look at our proposed area. Mark was knowledgeable and provided a lot of feedback to ensure we had all avenues covered.

We wanted something bespoke for us with the area we had to play with. So, when we saw the quote, our minds were made up. If you have the opportunity, visit their showroom. During our visit we were made very welcome, and it was good to see first-hand the quality of the materials they use. After discussing a couple of alterations with Stuart, we confidently placed our order.

On the day of the build, the installation team were very professional. Care was taken during the unloading, with protection placed in areas that could be damaged. They placed protective sheeting on the lawn and had all the panels laid out ready to for construction. Any waste was removed, and it was if they had never been there. Our new garden room was completed that same day and the total size 6m x 2.5m.

We have now been using the Garden office for a few weeks now (Mid-October) and while it is still a bit mild, it holds its heat well on the colder mornings and still has the new wood smell about it.

The quality and finish of the structure is exceptional, and this extends to the doors and windows they use.

If you are looking for a new shed or garden room, then do not be fooled into thinking the on-line units are the better priced units. I could not recommend Sheds and Shelters enough.

My 2 double garages required refelting, Sheds and Shelters carried the work out for me and were very efficient, polite and helpful. I am very pleased with the finished job.

I went to Sheds and Shelters on the recommendation from a neighbour and was not disappointed.
They ware very helpful during the purchase and the delivery and installation of my building was absolutely brilliant. The guys obviously took great in their work which was due to the fact that they had crafted it in the workshop prior to assembling it in my garden.
The quality of the building is excellent.

I needed a custom made size work bench with wheels and Sheds & Shelters went out of their way to accomodate my specific needs and kept me informed along the way of the progress and true to their word I was able to collect on the day they said it would be ready.

Fantastic service from sheds and shelters, from initial quote and design process I can't fault them, we have recently had a bespoke gazebo erected and couldnt be happier. Our garden was by no means an easy space to work in but nothing was too much trouble, will be back again next year for our new shed and decking, thanks guys
