Help received was outstanding

Help received was outstanding. I couldn't find what I wanted and had previously ordered, so I rang the helpline and the lady was so helpful. Even rang me back with a replacement number to order. Wonderful service. Thank you.

First thing was how good the price was


First thing was how good the price was compared to other sites such as Amazon. Second was how easy it was to order....no fuss, especially as I wanted it sent to a different address than the billing address. Third, delivery was offered next day. If you know what you want it's simple to buy direct from the company that makes them....Singer.

Good range of products, easy to order, fast delivery

I found it easy to compare sewing machines and find one that was suitable, the site was simple to navigate, and ordering was a smooth experience (and I was able to use a discount code). Confirmation of my order was immediate, and follow up comms were helpful. Delivery was free and swift - ordered on Friday, delivered on Sunday. Very happy with my new machine.

Ordering was a breeze and website has good descriptions

The product description on the
Website seemed to match what I was looking for (Singer walking foot ) that will work with a Singer. Heavy Duty 4432 model. It even specified that this attachment I was for a low shank machine and that it was a screw on attachment . I also found genuine Singer bobbins which I was very happy with. Good descriptions help the consumer feel confident they are ordering the correct items. Website made it easy to order and received a confirmation of my order almost immediately. Very good shopping experience. Thank you.

Poor Experience – Misleading Info and Faulty Machine

I bought the Singer Patchwork Plus C5985Q from Singer Machines Ltd (not Singer direct) for £359. I paid in full for a pre-order and received no updates unless I chased by email—very stressful for such a high-value item.

The machine arrived with no protective packaging around delicate parts and no quality check indicators. It was damaged: the auto needle threader didn’t work. No manual was included—just a quick start guide and a link, which should’ve been made clear. As a first-time Singer buyer, I was left guessing how to use it.

I was offered £35 compensation, then told it was a “typo” and only given a 3% discount that didn’t even cover the broken threader. No responsibility was taken, and I was told it wasn’t covered under warranty—unacceptable for an item that arrived damaged.

When I asked about returns, the process was vague, with threats of deductions, shipping fees, and a restocking charge—costing me even more. I was also made to feel incompetent, being told I didn’t know how to use the threader, despite having used similar machines before.

This was my first and last time buying from Singer or Singer Machines Ltd. Poor packaging, no proper support, and no ownership of faults. I would not recommend.

Thank you for your reply. I’m disappointed by the defensive tone and the dismissal of valid concerns. The issue wasn’t that I “didn’t know how to use the threader” but that it arrived damaged and didn’t function at all. Blaming the user for a broken part is not a resolution.

Your reference to my other reviews is irrelevant and unprofessional. As a paying customer, I expected a working product and transparent return terms—not accusations or deflection. The facts remain: I received a damaged machine, no manual was clearly advertised, and you refused to take responsibility. I stand by my review.

I'm not sure if we feel disappointed or proud to be among the 19 one star reviews you have left for some of the top UK companies. As the manager of the business I dealt with all of your queries personally. Our customer service and technical knowledge is unmatched in our market.
I would like to address some of the points you have made which had been made clear in our 14 email exchanges.
You say I didn't compensate you with £35.00. We agreed (both parties) to a 3% partial refund, not for faults, but before you had even received your machine
this was a purchase discount. The faults you told me about were a) a non-operational needle threader and b) you would have preferred a larger extension table. I asked on several occasions for a photo of the fault with the needle threader so that I could offer guidance on how to use this threader. Threaders are operated in a different manner across a range of machines, just like a driver can drive a car on the road it does not mean they can drive an F1 car.
No manual... You are correct no hard copy manual is provided, however you do receive a quick start guide and a link to a digital copy of the full manual. This is to save on environmental impact. I referred you to this manual over 3 different times, I then downloaded the manual myself and sent it to you, as you said you were not downloading the manual.
A pre order purchase - you are correct you did pay in full for this machine, unfortunately just as many other products, if you wish to order a product which already has a queue of people waiting, then you must purchase the product prior to receiving it so you will be guaranteed the product when stock arrives. We delivered this machine within a week of being ordered. Your 2-3 emails a day, we did not pass on to the ‘captain of the ship’ or all the other people who work very hard to get products into the Country and to us as I don't think they could work any faster. I did however respond to these emails in a timely manner on their behalf.
You say there are no quality control stickers. This is not something that is under our control. You will find through focus group findings that quality control stickers have not been around for a while now, as quality control is controlled on manufacturing lines and they will simply not pass, as they know how much impact this has on the seller and the customer.
‘No Singer sealing tape on the box’ - As well as being a premier Singer dealer in the UK we do carry all other brands. Brand sealing tape does not exist.

‘No sew samples on the needle plate’ - you are correct, no sew sample is offered with any Singer machine and this is the same from most of the premier brands such as Janome, Juki to name a few.
‘There was no protection around the needle bar/ threader’ - Again this is not under our control, this is simply not needed and would cause more damage than good. It would have to be very tight, which could impact on the more delicate mechanisms.
When you asked to return the machine, I asked you to file an RMA
you refused. I'm sorry but this is standard procedure. We have made this procedure as simple to follow as possible and you are simply requesting a return authorisation. You then in the same email said you were keeping the machine anyway! but you would have preferred a larger extension table and wanted your £35.00, otherwise you would be leaving a Trust pilot review!
We know our brands and machines very well, the business is managed by an engineer to give the technical edge and first resolve on every call or contact where possible.

I stumbled across this website by accident when I googled a problem with my Singer sewing machine. I didn't expect to reach a UK site, nor find an almost non-existent part (in the US) for my Singer Quantum XL 6000. The part was reasonably priced, but the postage was a killer! It would have been nice to have another shipping option since it wasn't an urgent need. I will come back again if I have a hard to part.
