I have to say that Paul Baker, the Solicitor at Slater Heelis in the Sale office was very thorough and professional in every detail during the preparation of my Will. No hesitation in recommendation.

I have asked Slaters 4 times now to resolve an issue with a Will which I have lodged with them and it is still unresolved. This review relates to the branch in Sale, Cheshire. The first time was when I rang them on 13th February, the receptionist said someone would call me back but that didn't happen. I then filled out one of their online contact forms on 16th February, no response. I replied to their automated response on 18th February to say I had not heard back from them, again no response. I then phoned them again on 19th February at 1.06pm. The receptionist transferred me to one of the staff in the team who deal with Wills. I had a 10 minute conversation with an agent who I explained everything to; she took my details and assured me that someone would contact me by phone or email, but no response. It's ridiculous. I've given up on Slater Heelis now. I suppose the warning signs were there a few years ago when they dealt with my dad's Will. Me and my siblings provided all our bank details for them to transfer our inheritance money and then they posted cheques out instead of doing bank transfers, which caused a lot of issues for us. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and lodged my Will with them but it is apparent now that uselessness is recurrent with Slater Heelis. I opted to cancel my Will rather then pay approximately £600 (incl VAT) to amend it. I wouldn't be surprised if they've gone and posted it out to the address which is on the Will where I no longer live. Useless.

From the outset I'd like to thank Rachel Fletcher, Rachel Mason and Hannah Costley for the superb legal service they have provided for my family recently.

All three ladies were very professional, understanding, compassionate and realistic in their dealings with us.  They all answered queries within a good timeframe, responding very clearly and professionally, however big or small the issue was.  Always available to explain and provide sound advice, they kept us informed as matters progressed and explained the range of outcomes we could expect.

They gave us a high quality service at a great price and the support they gave us throughout this difficult period in our family life has been immeasurable, and we will be forever grateful for that.

I would have no hesitation in recommending these three ladies - who did the best they could for our family.  Thank you.

Slater Heelis have been outstanding to deal with right from the start. We originally were represented by Andrew Scott who was very professional and had a lovely sympathetic mannor with my Mum who was very ill.
I felt like he genuinely cared and it wasn’t just about business.
Later the case altered its trajectory and we were assigned a new solicitor who specialised in our case Daniel Stern. Daniel Stern was brilliant - he kept us informed at all times of where we stood, our options and his recommendations.
The case was long and drawn out and the claimant repeatedly threatened and lied. Daniel trusted his instincts and experience and he basically ran rings around them. The letters that he wrote were very clever and drew out the truth. We won the case without going to court. Both Andrew and Daniel saved me a massive amount of money along with getting justice for my Mum. When you’re in a difficult situation which involves a solicitor you need to have trust and confidence in them. I had this at all times. THANK YOU!

John Gorner is a truly excellent and professional solicitor who responds very quickly and positively to one's every email and need. This is very encouraging when getting complex and emotional matters sorted out. He is hugely experienced in cases of young people with special needs, compassionate and very patient. I am very lucky to have found him and have benefited from his expertise over the last 10 years on different issues.

This is my first experience of Slater Heelis and I have been dealing with John Gorner, who I find very personable, professional, courteous, efficient and quick in progressing matters. He is an absolute pleasure to deal with.

I had an excellent experience with my Lawyer Kaleel Anwar at Slater Heelis, and his legal assistant Lynsey. Their professionalism and efficiency were outstanding throughout the entire process. Kaleel demonstrated exceptional knowledge of family law, explaining everything clearly and ensuring I understood each step. What really stood out was how approachable and supportive they were, making a difficult and emotional situation much easier to navigate. I felt confident and reassured knowing I was in capable hands. Jodi Tuson was excellent throughout a very long and difficult case concerning my divorce and child shared care arrangements. She was very clear and answered all of my queries promptly and with professionalism- regardless of how big or small the problem may have felt. Jodi has been an incredible support and has really put me at ease, keeping me on track through the whole process. She has been transparent with everything I needed to provide and has always been there when I needed her. I feel that you get what you pay for, and Jodi has proven to be worth her weight in gold.
I’d highly recommend Jodi for anyone who needs legal advice for their separation or any family matters.
Alex Goldrein who represented me in court was also exceptional. She was very thorough and a strong support when I was anxious after never attending court before. I would certainly use her again if I needed representation.
Everyone I’ve dealt with at Slater Heelis has been brilliant and I would use them for any future legal advice I need.

Had phone conversation with John Gorner who was rude, patronising and ill informed. He also did not even get my name right when he called me to book the phone appointment. That was before we'd even got to any sort of paid legal advice. Lucky escape.

Utterly diabolical.
I phoned this company distraught after receiving a single justice procedure notice for 2 driving offences I was NOT guilty of.
I first spoke with Hannah Costley who was pleasant but was sadly going off on leave for a week, she passed my case to Rachel Mason who was horrible. She wasted my time over several days, adding to my distress with a deadline to respond to the matter looming fast. I was in a high state of trauma after losing both parents, losing my home and having to move twice, being attacked and left injured and in severe pain and with no family support on a limited state pension I was desperate for some kindness. But Rachel despite knowing all of this showed me the sensitivity of a cold fish. She failed to respond to calls for a call back or to my emails adding insult to injury until she pushed me to the point of my patience expiring. I emailed to tell her that if she didn't want to act for me to just tell me and I would find another lawyer but I was fed up of being left dangling and suffering panic attacks from this with the deadline getting closer and closer. In the end I had a call from Rachel Fletcher who was as insipid and nasty as Rachel Mason to say I should find a new lawyer as my email to Rachel Mason was deemed unacceptable, these two women could not grasp how much unwarranted distress they had caused me as a single lone pensioner with no support and distraught. No sensitivity or respect was shown to me whatsover. I can only write this review to warn people to steer well clear of these insensitive solicitors. They wasted nearly a week of time I didn't have to waste and left me at the 11th hour without representation amid promises that they would resolve the matter for me for an affordable cost, which has been retracted and I view this is downright cruel and unprofessional.
I will be reporting these two females to the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) because they cannot be allowed to abuse vulnerble and troubled people like this.
They just fob you off with promises of call backs which never materialise. I was in tears and crying whilst on the phone to the reception staff and it was clear that I was extremely distressed. I feel as if I was treated like a 2nd class citizen as a person of limited means and tossed aside in favour of people who could pay higher fees to them. I feel abused and insulted, damaged and destroyed by my experience with this law firm. They tell you to write to Lawfront if you have a complaint as they handle their complaints, but with time against me, they knew that would do little to get my matter of urgency resolved. If you want help do NOT contact this law firm. I can see that they have other negative reviews and a low score or rating on Trustpilot, no wonder. Terrible, disgusting, they should be closed down. They have no respect whatsoever. I will warn others to steer well clear of them. They even told me to plead guilty to save on legal costs and to conclude the matter quicker when I was NOT guilty of the offences I was charged with. How is that a professional code of conduct? So you are guilty if you have no money just to save costs and if you have money to meet their massive fees you can plead not guilty and get fair justice? That is not justice, it is pure injustice and prejudice. Extremely unprofessional.

Jodi was incredibly professional in her approach to communicating with the other side, helpful and knowledgeable. I wouldn't have been able to effectively resolve this dispute without her assistance, offering the right advise to finally end my dispute.

Alex Barley at Slater Heelis handled my personal injury claim and provided great advice from the start to the very end. I ended up receiving a very good payout for my injury, at the top end of the scale. If ever in the same situation I wouldn't think twice about using this service again. It really couldn't have been much better.

Contacted these for autism-related legal services as they are on the Autistic Society website. According to their advisor on the phone, they only support autistic people with corporate problems, they offer NOTHING in relation to discrimination, nothing on GP negligence, nothing on police discrimination, nothing on harassment. They are massively misleading and falsely advertising services they say they don't actually provide. Have contacted AS to let them know they are promoting a company that doesn't actually support autistic people (probably just a marketing ploy). It's outrageous - avoid!

I am more than happy with the service provided throughout the whole process. Very professional put me at ease and answered all my concerns in a timely manner.

I was disappointed with my solicitor Rebevca Muirhead because mistakes were made which were inexcusable. I was promised a monthly bill but only received one at the third time of asking. On one piece of correspondence an address was used wich was six months old
The excuse of system problem was given. On another occasion mistakes were explained as typographical errors which for lawyers is hard to accept. We pay their high fees for them to check things to ensure mistakes do not occur. One of these mistakes was simply arithmetical.

Avoid Avoid Avoid!... yes I googled for the best solicitors I could find after I needed a solicitor i could trust while divorcing my now ex wife! Who comes to my rescue... Aaron Williams, the only person I know that's lies more than my beloved ex... I've had to beg him to reply to emails.. phone calls... whatsapp messages, the man lied to me regarding sending documents to the court... which delayed my life!... yes I then reached out to him one last time copying several of the slaterheelis partners... who comes to my rescue... Mark Heptinstall, Aaron's leader.... as important as you think your life is... never ever think this guy is in your corner!... after admitting there was an internal investigation on Aaron which he clearly told me Aaron was at fault and had not fully given me full important information, and lied about sending the consent order to the court... he was worse to contact, always someone else is more important..because of this key dates were missed..which led to an ugly confrontation with my ex... he then gives me a large bill to pay for ASAP... but no explanation as to what it was for.... only when I confronted him he told me he would do no more work until it was paid...he states i refused to pay, when in actual fact I did not know what I was paying for!...no itemised bill at this point!...(just another lie)... oh, and his fee was £100 more than Aaron’s, yes he back tracked on the fee , but only after i questioned this. I'm now back on medication for depression, this is nothing to do with my cheating ex that took me for a considerable amount of money... but these two individuals that clearly are the modern day dickturpins.... save yourself the same stress i unfortunately endured and avoid. I've explained to Mark Heptinstall I was to go through the complaints procedure with Slater Heelis then the ombudsman, his reply was i can do as i like...now that comment hurt!!....seems he's a man can clearly sleep well at night.... and to finish the review.... i ended up finishing my case on my own contacting my ex's solicitor... it took one day!... for any other Slaterheelis partners that may care, I'm happy to forward all emails and messages!

I could not be more pleased with the service I received from the Slater Heelis team. Alexandra was amazing, providing professional support and clear information, and generally guiding me through the whole process as smoothly as was possible. I would not hesitate to recommend.

Welcoming reception at the office. Our solicitor was very friendly and professional. All our questions were covered with easy to understand explanations. The will was drafted and fully covered all our wishes. Overall it was a very satisfying experience.
