Love the vibe of the show

Love the vibe of the show. The venue was not upto the mark. It's better that it could be done in a cafe.

The sound issues ruined the overall


The sound issues ruined the overall experience. (-1 star)
Last performance was not a music/jazz performance (as promised) and didn't flow well with the concept. (-1 star)

I loved the first group performance. They were excellent.

We're sorry to hear there were some sound issues which affected your night - that's never what we want. 

On the final performance, the event was billed as 'an interdisciplinary night blending jazz, soul, ancient musical traditions, and free-form improvisation through poetry and spoken word', so the poetry/spoken word set was part of that intention.

That said, we're really sorry this night didn't land as you'd hoped, and we'll make sure the team receive this feedback to improve for future events. We're really glad the first group made such a strong impression, and we hope you'll join us for another show soon!

The perfect summer Friday night!!

The experience was fantastic! I love that I received a general neighborhood so I could plan accordingly, but was surprised by the final location the night before! AJ was a brilliant and enthusiastic MC, the bands were fantastic, and there were nice-sized breaks in between so we could stretch and go to the bathroom. I also loved that we were set in a space where we could purchase items from local creatives as well as the musicians themselves. It was really fun and I even bumped into local friends! This was a particularly lovely event because of how intimate it was, and how it wasn't set in a bar or other typical concert venue, which are often crowded and annoying. The structure of this event really allowed it to be a space where we got to know the artists just a little bit more than we did at the beginning of their performance. So thank you!!!

Not worth the money

The acts were short and weird, the time between acts was 3x as long as the acts themselves, and the bartender repeatedly made our drinks incorrectly

Hi, thank you for sharing this. We're so sorry the evening didn't live up to what you had in mind.

This was one of our Social Club shows, which have a deliberately different format from a standard Sofar night - the stage sets are shorter, with ambient performances and activities woven throughout the event to encourage mingling and connection between guests. 

We appreciate that wasn't clearly communicated upfront, and we've fed this back to the team to consider how we share the format details going forward. 

The drinks issues are a separate matter and not something we'd brush off - we're sorry that kept happening. Bar staff are not part of our own team, but this is important feedback to discuss with the host venue, so we've passed it on.

Lovely atmosphere

Lovely atmosphere. Great to be surrounded by people who care about listening to music in silence.

I really liked the artists, especially the 2nd and 3rd of the lineup. Hosts were also nice, inclusive, and welcoming.

Maybe I would have loved one more artist/session, but I guess that “I want more” can also be considered a positive feedback :)

Run don’t walk 


Run don’t walk to Sofar Sounds in Malibu. We attended for a friend’s Birthday and absolutely had the best time in a beautiful venue. Loved that it was run so smoothly. 3 performers/bands that sung 4 songs each with outstanding classics being played in between each set up. Thanks for an outstanding event. We will be returning.

The venue was INSANE

The venue was INSANE . Rooftop view of downtown Vancouver on the most beautiful night imaginable. The performers were way beyond what we expected. The bar was excellent-good prices and options.

Amazing experience

If you're into listening to great artists without having to pay an arm and a leg, and getting a genuine live music experience, Sofar Sounds is for you. The MCs are also great at breaking the ice for the crowd, it feels like a familiar space. Getting to meet with the artists also makes the experience more special. Very wholesome experience overall!

I had such a wonderful time at Sofar

I had such a wonderful time at this Sofar event. The setting at the Greenville Center for Creative Arts was beautiful. I had never been there before, and it was such a lovely surprise to experience live music surrounded by art.

Connor Donohue, Milah, and Tanner Dane were all fantastic. Each artist brought something special, and the whole evening felt intimate, soulful, and thoughtfully curated. Between the music, the art, the welcoming atmosphere, and the food/coffee offerings, it felt like one of those special Greenville experiences you’re grateful to stumble upon.

Such a cool event and a beautiful way to discover new artists and local spaces. I would absolutely attend another Sofar show.

Good music

Good music, engaging artists. Venue was ok, although small and you couldn't see the stage well from the back. Breaks were a bit too long, would love to get 1 more song from the artists and less break time. Also it would be great if it would be announced previously about any drinks & food options

Our Fifth Sofar Show, and Unfortunately the Worst

My boyfriend and I recently attended a Sofar Sounds event, and unfortunately it was the most disappointing experience we've had. This was our fifth Sofar show together, and we've always enjoyed them in the past, which makes this experience even more frustrating.

The event started significantly late, and communication from the staff was poor. While attendees waited, the person providing updates repeatedly told us the performers were "20 minutes away," but the delays continued. What made matters worse was the lack of professionalism—there seemed to be little urgency or genuine concern for the audience's time. The apologies felt insincere, and there was no effort to keep attendees informed in a meaningful way.

When the event finally began, there was only a brief, lackluster apology before the music started. There was no proper introduction, no acknowledgment of the extended delay, and the overall atmosphere felt disorganized and unprofessional.

I've recommended Sofar Sounds to friends many times because previous experiences were so enjoyable. This time, however, I was genuinely embarrassed to have spoken so highly of the brand. What had become a special tradition for my boyfriend and me now feels like something we're unlikely to attend again.

I understand that delays and unexpected issues can happen, but professionalism, communication, and respect for attendees go a long way. Unfortunately, those elements were missing from this event.
