Speedy delivery and the only supplier to actually have the screwdriver I wanted

So, I'm re-writing this review because the first version apparently breached Trustpilot's guidelines and Sotel objected - I referred to the person who was rude to me by their first name which apparently is against the rules. Sotel requested my details via Trustpilot, which I gave them but that did not bring any attempt by Sotel to contact me in an adult attempt to resolve the matter. No apology, no investigation, nothing, just a dissatisfied customer who Sotel do not seem to care about. So here's the original amended review anyway:

Bought a Tefal iron off this company via Amazon. Firstly the Amazon listing is misleading as the link ‘Visit the Tefal Store’ appears on their listing right above the picture of the item - we assumed we were buying from Tefal direct. We are in the UK and when the item was delivered it was provided with an EU plug and adapter, this was not mentioned in the description on the listing. More of a concern though when I wrote to their customer support and spoke to the not so charming ******* was how rude her replies were to some simple questions about how the warranty is supported from Germany to the UK. One to avoid if you’re in the UK I’d suggest.

Considering how desperate Sotel were to get me to remove their rude employee's name from the review but on the flip side were so disinterested in their customer feedback, I'd respectfully suggest buying your products from somewhere else.

Una vergüenza. Compré una radio en Sotel y me enviaron una usada, llena de polvo y con restos de comida en la radio y en el mando. Con las presintonias grabadas de emisoras de Inglaterra más concretamente de Londres Con un olor a tabaco que tiraba para atrás. La caja rota, las cosas sin envoltorios y quitados precintos, las pilas tiradas dentro de la caja y gastadas, el adaptador a red recogido de cualquier manera.
Una auténtica vergüenza, no sé cómo han tenido el valor de enviar algo así!!!

Excellent. I was a little sceptical as I had read mixed reviews but decided to buy an airfryer which was much cheaper than elsewhere. I had read that it can take longer to deliver being from Germany but I was prepared to wait given the savings. Did not disappoint, item arrived in great condition and with a UK plug fitted as standard. Would use again.

Purchased this after using with friends overseas. It’s a great entertainment experience to enjoy with friends and family. The quality is good and easy to use and clean. Would recommend

Excellent communication. Extremely efficient and very cost effective shipping to the UK. Well packaged item delivered promptly and securely. Product performs as specified. Very pleased with the item and would recommend Sotel as an outstanding supplier.

My item was sent in a timely manner, it was delivered badly damaged and the broken outer box was stuck up with their own tape, all the polystyrene support packing was in pieces even though the inner box was not damaged in any way. I can only assume that they deliberately sent a smashed item - they were awkward about me returning it at first until I quoted them my rights, they wanted photos of both boxes from every angle, photos of the damaged item, all measurements and weight of the return box, eventually I received a QR code and a week later they refunded me - I would not use them again. Two stars given because they did attach a UK plug to the item. Not impressed!

Very bad experience with this company - we ordered a Stelton EM 77 Kettle. It arrived damaged / dented.

They clearly send a damaged item, as the outside box was not damaged, so it was damaged from warehouse.

I keep emailing and calling, no response. AVOID. CROOKS!

Sehr schlechte Erfahrung mit dieser Firma – wir haben einen Stelton EM 77 Wasserkocher bestellt. Es kam beschädigt / verbeult an.

Sie versenden eindeutig einen beschädigten Artikel, da der äußere Karton nicht beschädigt war, er also bereits im Lager beschädigt war.

Ich schicke ständig E-Mails und rufe an, keine Antwort. VERMEIDEN!!!

I placed an order with Sotel.de for a high-spec HP laptop (Order #321868) after being assured by their representative that they had 60 units in stock. I transferred €1,285.23 by bank on July 29, 2025, and was promised shipment within 1–2 business days.

After repeated emails and no shipment updates, I was eventually told the laptop was not in stock at all. They admitted they were still waiting for it from their supplier—despite confirming stock in writing just a day before payment.

Over the next several days, I received vague, conflicting, and evasive replies from multiple employees. No phone support was available (they said they stopped answering calls). I lost valuable time and now have to cancel a business project because I couldn't get the hardware I needed on time.

This was a clear case of false stock claims, broken promises, and total disregard for customer urgency. I'm now chasing a refund.

If you're looking for reliable service, honest communication, or timely delivery, I strongly suggest you avoid this company.

Despite the company being in Germany where electrical items have a different plug point, the hairdryer was sent with the correct plug (a note was included advising that if the plug was incorrect they would send another one). Impressed with the service and the item is a described.
Very happy overall.
Would definitely buy from them again.

Would highly recommend: bought a set of Wahl cordless hair clippers and as with past purchases from Sotel the price, communication, and shipping (which took less than a week from Germany to Northern Ireland) were all excellent.

I had a great experience with Sotel GmbH. They are a reliable company and delivered exactly what I ordered. I bought an ABUS 14KS motorcycle chain and lock — it’s a top-quality product, very solid and secure. Highly recommended!

Excellent experience with the company. My parcel arrived in a matter of days and the juicer is amazing and couldn't be more pleased. Will definitely buy from them again in the future for these types of appliances.

I wanted to build a tool that would turn on a vacuum cleaner when I used any dust creating electric device e.g. a drop saw.
Looked all over the Internet and found the Kemo M103N on Sotel's web site.
It was delivered from Germany to the U.K. in good time, well packaged and was exactly what I wanted.

Please DONT buy from SOTEL. Received a Remington hairdryer with adapter. Hairdryer stopped working after a few weeks, checked adapter and several plugs. Advised them of this with several emails requesting a prepaid label to return to investigate. Reluctantly issued me a prepaid label after huge amounts of requests.
Heard nothing when they received item back to investigate issue. after emailing them, they respond that they can’t do anything as I didn’t return it with cardboard box. Send back manuals/accessories etc in perfect condition. Now saying that it has scratches and does work with no evidence. Have pictures and video of item before I sent it back.

DO not buy from them as they will not do anything if they issue faulty item.
