4.5 years later we are still waiting for accurate accounts to be provided.
Correspondence has been ignored for months at a time.
Still waiting.

The team were excellent from beginning to end and a very smooth process, especially given a few complex element to understand.

Steele Rose were brilliant in all aspects from start to finish. They were professional, efficient, informative and with excellent communication.

I am very grateful for the service provided by Steele Rose; particularly with the service provided by Daniel whilst my beloved sister was in Marie Curie Hospice in finalising her Will.

However, completion of Probate took a very long time.

This firm wrote my grandmother’s will for free. I understand she was introduced to the service while in hospital being treated for cancer. After her terminal diagnosis, she and I had a long conversation where she asked me to act as an executor. However, despite this, they were appointed and I was not. I can’t say why, but it gave them full control of the probate process.

They used their own sister companies to manage the estate, including their estate agency, which earned significant fees...even though we provided the buyer. The process dragged on for well over two years, marked by repeated mistakes, poor communication, and even legal threats when I pushed for updates and accountability.

If you use their will-writing service, be extremely cautious about naming them as executors. I still haven’t received the final accounts to verify what was distributed and what was charged.

EDIT: Thank you for the reply, but I’d like to clarify something important: the “client” who supposedly made these choices was, in the end, you...because you were named as executor. That gave you full control over the estate and decision-making, including the ability to use your own associated companies for key services.

You state that executors are only appointed “if explicitly requested”. But who explained those options to my grandmother? I find it difficult to believe she independently decided to hand full control of her estate to a company she’d just met while in hospital.

Let’s be honest: offering “free” wills isn’t an act of charity. It’s a lead generation tool. In this case, the cost of that “free” will is still not clear, because I’ve still not received the final accounts.

If there’s full transparency, as claimed, I look forward to receiving them.

They are very helpful people and did support me during my probation process.

The staff I dealt with were consistently professional and polite.
As with the majority of legal issues, progress seemed slow at times. However, overall Steele Rose were efficient and the the work was concluded satisfactorily.

Needed to amend my will for some significant adjustments. Have chased them 3 times to get someone to contact me. STILL NO RESPONSE. Absolute pathetic excuses of 'receptionist away'- ' junk folder ' - 'email not picked up'- 'we'll respond by letter'.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

We put my Father’s estate into their hands. 15months ago we were told the estate was being finalised and todate have heard very little. The only contact we have received back is conversations that mean nothing. Not a good recommendation!!!!!

Whilst Stacie was helpful at the start of my late mother’s house sale, once the money had been released to Steele Rose, it then proved to be harder to get it from them. We were told it would take a couple of days and it has now been over a week! We have been lied to and let down. I would never use them again..

We had a home visit to prepare our wills. This made the whole process easy and relaxed. Mr Lamb- Hughes was extremely helpful and guided us through the whole process. The sevice was excellent and the charge was very reasonable. Highly recommend.

From the start of our enquiry to the end Laura was very informative, professional and helped us every step of the way understand what we had to do.

I needed some legal work doing, and a solicitor friend recommended someone to do this work for me. I contacted him, and, after 3 months of fruitless waiting (with one reminder each month), I gave up.
I found Steele Rose through the internet, and reviews of their company were good, so I went with them. I wasn't disappointed. They seemed knowledgeable, and their service was excellent.
I'd certainly recommend them.

Really quick and efficient service. Gren was really friendly and informative and gave us all the information that we needed in order to write our wills. As we used this service during lockdown our appointment was over video call. Gren called on time and the whole process was easy. We received our finalised documents in the post not long after our initial meeting. Although there was the choice of adding extras on to our wills, there were no pushy sales involved. We will definitely recommend Steele Rose to our friends, and use them again in the future should the need arise.
