Teeth moved back to original position after 1 year as you are only provided with one alligner to maintain your teeth, this obviously gets dirty and snaps after a couple weeks of daily use. You are expected to pay more unfortunately for more maintainer retainers (£99 each per upper and per low retainer) so my teeth have completely went back and the whole treatment was now a waste of time/the initial £1500 I paid

I started with straight teeth direct about 18 months ago

Initially all seemed to be going well, I had aligners 1-16 (although I did note that aligner 16 wasn’t straight) they said I will require more after the first batch.

Having worn them all as required I then came to the end of the 16 they tried to price gouge me for more aligners which I refused to pay. They sent them out with no paperwork or instructions etc, I continued to wear them for 2 weeks at a time and it came towards the end of the treatment and they said as I’d not been completing monthly check ins if I needed more I might need to pay.

I explained why I hadn’t been completing check ins, genuine disability that’s protected, they ignored and and continued to argue with me when I was on 5/6 of the retainers. Then they kept quoting their terms and conditions to me and I explained that nobody had explained to me that I needed to wear them for three weeks at a time instead of two.

They kept repeating themselves and refusing to acknowledge that they hadn’t bothered to take the time to ensure I was wearing them for three weeks, when for the last 15 months or so it’s always been 2 weeks.

They use stuff buried in terms and conditions to absolve themselves of any wrongdoing of it doesn’t go how assured you it will go. They lie through their teeth and when you stand up for yourself they ignore you.

This continued back and forth and I explained I wasn’t happy as I’ve paid for straight teeth not nearly straight teeth. I never said I wouldn’t pay for the extra set of aligners as I’d clearly not completed the check ins, although I will note they are utter nonsense as they don’t check anything other than that aligners fit, which they obviously fit if you’ve got them on.

Instead of offering a solution they’ve just deleted my account - unbelievable really given they’ve taken almost £1600 off of me.

Ironically I’ve got crooked teeth because of these crooks so I’d advise you stay well away!

I wasn’t able to afford Invisilign and was glad I stumbled upon Straight Teeth Direct. They’re more cost-efficient and everything can be done in the comfort of home. They have always been responsive and even when I had issues, they would respond within 1-2 days with a solution. I’m feeling more confident about my smile!

My experience with Straight Teeth Direct was shocking. My bite never lined up at all and my teeth were also never straight. I complained in the app and was basically gaslighted.

It was a complete waste of a year long treatment with them.

I’ve now gone with a proper dentist and doing the Invisalign service. It’s more expensive but then experience has been x10 better.

Please please do not go with Straight Teeth Direct if you value your time and money

This is a perfect service for those who really dislike going to the dentist or can’t afford dentist fees.
The convenience of doing everything online and at home was what appealed to me.
It did take a lot longer to get the results than what was predicted but once you get used to the process it didn’t matter.
Although my teeth are far from perfect they are a lot better than they were before I started.
The only thing I didn’t realise is that you need to continue wearing retainers every night after treatment has finished so that is an extra annual cost to buy new retainers each year which I wasn’t prepared for.
That being said, I would still recommend straight teeth direct to anyone looking to improve the look of their smile.

Great service, communication & results from day 1.

From 2021 to 2023 I had an orthodontic aligners treatment with Straight Teeth Direct to fit my teeth.

The dental alignment treatment was done 100% remotely with just photos and videos. No Rx was requested before or during treatment.

After that treatment my teeth were not properly aligned. I could not close my molars and chew properly, because my front teeth were touching each other in a non natural way.

I had to see a local dentist in my country and purchase a new treatment of fixed braces, which I used from 2023 to 2024 to correct what was wrong. I’m still in the retainer phase of that treatment.

I asked for the legal contacts of Straight Teeth but not only they never responded, but they also disabled my login, making it impossible to access my patient area.

Fortunately, I had read about a similar situation like this in Trust Pilot and I made sure of making copies of all my patient area before I contacted them.

Make sure you copy everything and don’t rely exclusively on Straight Teeth website to access your dental data.

I’m going to take my case to court in Ireland.

If you also had a bad experience, first check which company did you sign the agreement with. In my case it was Straight Teeth Direct Europe Limited, which is based in Ireland, despite braces were shipped from England and some staff is also in England.

In Ireland you can make an agreement with a solicitor (lawyer) on a “no win, no fee” model. If you don’t win the case, you won’t pay anything.

However, you may be entitled to pay the other part fees if you lose, so you should consider to purchase an After the Event insurance. Your solicitor should be able to advise you on this.

Note: For anybody reading this, if you have severe teeth crowding don’t go for a remote treatment like this before you have an appointment with a local dentist, who can check your case live, take Rx if necessary and ultimately give the OK to the remote treatment.

very happy with my experience with straight teeth direct. their communication has been great throughout, always on hand to answer any questions and queries i may have. End result matched the predicted result and i’m very happy

3d Simulation did not match my end result. Every repsone is a different excuse saying it is due to genetics etc etc. Then taking more money off me to make a new set of aligners and then saying actually no you don't need them but will refuse to refund me on me paying extra for this service which I didn't need?!? Retainers are cheap and don't last long. Wish I had paid more and went for Invisalign which is what I am continuing with to finish my process. They make excuses when things don't go right in their simulation and blame you. Misleading conduct.
Don't waste your time as it seems this has been happening to a lot of people.

Refund my money!!

I was and still am truly satisfied with the end result of the treatment. I felt the real interest of the dental team to help me to "the final destination". They always made sure to get me back on track if something during the progress review did not seem right and addressed every my concern. Communication was always transparent, so I knew what to expect.
Not to mention the customer service which I found very helpful, responsive and willing to go the extra mile. Thank you! Would not hesitate to undergo it again, but hope it won´t be necessary. :)

A really good option if you don’t have the budget to get traditional braces. I have always found them to be very responsive and polite.

There is a limit to what you can achieve with this type of dentistry. However my smile is much better than it was!

This can be a long journey dependent on how bad your teeth are or how much they need to move. It has taken me 18 months to complete the treatment and is not for someone who is not dedicated to wearing the retainers for 22 hrs a day. It is a pain (not painful in terms of hurting but annoying) but no pain no gain. If you stick with it the results are remarkable. My lower teeth were very overcrowded and let me down so I wanted straight teeth. I need a bit of composite bonding to make them perfect but I am really delighted with the results and professionalism of STD. Towards the end of my treatment they were not happy with my progress so sent me for another scan and sorted new moulds to get the teeth right. If you veer off course they will do their best to get you on track again. I would recommend them without hesitation and they are very competitive on price.

Such a little amount of effort and cash for a brilliant result - I just wish dieting was this easy!! My teeth were crooked and this simple series of hardly noticeable retainers has made me smile again. Helpful & courteous staff, easy to follow direction & half the price of many other aligners I do not hesitate to recommend Straight teeth direct - what are you waiting for?!

My 3D simulation matched my end results- took nearly 18 months which was more than the initial estimate- but of course no-one can predict how fast or slow teeth will move.
All communication has been helpful &responsive, all aligner reviews prompt and they prompt you if these aren’t submitted which is helpful when you forget!
All in all very happy with my experience.

To echo many other reviews on here - awful experience!

My 3d simulation looked promising, although the reality was my teeth look nothing like the simulation.

Initially you think you have made the right decision as you do see your teeth start to make small movements, don’t be fooled as this won’t last long and then the aligners will start to become loose!

Ultimately - if the aligners are loose with no feelings of pressure then they aren’t doing any moving, just keeping your teeth in the same position.

The replies from STD are either automated or obnoxious.

They will hide behind the fact that the treatment isn’t for “the perfect smile”
Just an improved smile.

Don’t waste your money, either use Invisalign or better still try and get your treatment from smile white. A professional company.

Awful, awful.

My teeth didn’t end up like the 3D simulation showed. Even though there was a “guarantee” for the “clinically attainable” results, saying if teeth don’t move as predicted then they will offer refinements. Well my teeth didn’t look like the suggested outcome but they kept saying they did. And replying with copied and pasted messages about how not everyone’s teeth shift properly and it’s not their fault, they can’t do anything about it. I ended up with a huge overbite as they pulled all my front teeth far forward, gaps in the bottom and horrible alignment, with back teeth that don’t meet anymore so I can’t bite down on anything. I asked for some refinements like they said they offered as their guarantee if the end result wasn’t right, but their response was “your treatment plan is finished”. Always passive aggressive if you try and suggest throughout that your teeth aren’t moving as predicted, which I kept saying a lot, particularly at the end when they said I had finished. My trays didn’t fit half way through but they said they did. Huge gaps between my teeth and aligners and they didn’t click into place anymore. I am now going with Invisalign and the dentist have said STD have really messed my mouth up. Don’t use this company.

I spent over £2,000 on aligner treatment, followed all the instructions, and wore my aligners and retainer daily. Despite this, my teeth have moved back after treatment, which is incredibly frustrating given the significant investment of time and money.

I raised concerns about my final results before my treatment ended, only to be told I would need cosmetic surgery for further improvements. Now, I'm being told I need additional aligners at an extra cost, which feels completely unfair considering I didn't receive satisfactory results in the first place.

The follow-up support has been unhelpful and has only added to my frustration. I expected better from a company that promises lasting results.

I won't be recommending this service or pursuing any further treatment with them.

I had originally started treatment with SmileDirectClub but they went into liquidation before my treatment was complete, leaving me with unsightly gaps in my teeth. With no way of moving forward, I contacted Straight Teeth Direct to ask if they were planning to support customers of SDC; they replied suing they would review this. Within a few days they came back to me offering me a well priced treatment plan to finish and correct my previous treatment. The care I have received has been beyond my expectations - an in-depth treatment plan, regular monthly check-ins and very quick answers to all my questions. My teeth are now straight and my confidence has improved immensely. I am now using retainers and couldn’t be happier with the treatment I have received. I was very hesitant before I began my treatment, I had read some bad reviews and I had a crown close to my front teeth. I asked lots of questions that were all answered honestly. Ultimately the extremely competitive costs and the flexibility offered around my work overseas was what made me proceed.

The modelling and predictions turned out to be very accurate and the customer service throughout and into aftercare has been very prompt, professional and helpful.

The first 1-2 days when starting the treatment were the toughest to get through. Again I raised concerns and was given assurance all was correct. However once you get past this stage, I found the aligners to be comfortable. Changing aligners every 2 weeks also was uncomfortable the first 3-4 times, but again it settled down and I actually found myself relishing the change overs as the tighter fitting aligners felt comforting to me as the treatment progressed.

I am very happy with my results, my teeth are not perfect due to their shape, but this was outlined at the start. But the straightness off my teeth has drastically improved and I am much happier with them than before.

Overall I am very satisfied with my experience and have recommend straight teeth direct to others.

I have completed my treatment with Straight Teeth Direct. I chose them because my friend started her treatment with them and they had the best reviews.
I was wary about the online service at first, I didn’t want to pay dentist prices so went for it. I needn’t be worried, the service was quick, clear and informative, my messages / questions answered quickly.
As long as you look after your teeth and aligners with regular brushing and follow the instructions it will go smoothly 🤩
