The food quality is fantastic (made my mouth water)!
Great staff my mother had a fall and had to head away to see her and I had ordered on bank holiday. I contacted them and they literally got it sent out as soon as was possible. Luckily arrived before I left and that was the staff that made that happen. Saw someone on other site complain about post cost, I'm lost. It's quality frozen food packed really well (bought from other places over years and not so well packed elsewhere) arrives frozen and it's £9 DPD to me in Scottish borders. It's about a pound for a stamp!!!

First time ordering from Thedogsbutcher because my previous supplier was out of stock. I was extremely pleased with my order of 20kg of lamb tripe. It was packaged extremely well indeed (unlike my previous supplier) both for carriage by DPD and for me to store the lamb tripe in the freezer. It came in 1kg sealed trays. I have seen and read the negative reviews on this Trustpilot re the company's communication with their clients. I was very surprised because I can only say that when I rang up with a query prior to the DPD delivery the call was answered promptly, politely and friendly and my query resolved. I was impressed with the service and the product. I will be re-ordering again. Their website was extremely informative too, a credit to them.

I've been ordering from The Dog Butcher since lock down when I switched my then bully abd yorkie to raw. I now also raw feed my Maine Coon kittens which I now diy rather than buy minces. I love the variety that TDB provide, I tend to feed up to 8 proteins a week and a mix of 75/15/10 as advised for giant breed kittens. Their diy chunks, organ and bone selection makes this a breeze to do and for me personally very enjoyable. Due to their reasonable prices each batch I make is a different mix whether that protein or organ (keeping liver in as min 5% of organ of course.) They have kept their high standards consistent throughout the years I have been using them. Can it sometimes be frustrating when you miss the restock? Yes it can be but this just goes to show the quality that TDB provide, and if there out of stock on something I know another trusted supplier that stocks TDB that I can fall back on I ever need anything urgently. Keep up the good work

Had an absolutely awful experience with the owner and her daughter. I wrote an email to inform them that the new horse 80-10-10 meal was causing issues for my dog as it had a higher percentage of bone than stated and I had spoken to other owners who were having the same issue. I stressed that I wasn't making a complaint but informing them as I use their products for my dog with food intolerances. They replied in an email that others who were having issues would need to email them with photos. I put a post on a raw feeding page asking others with issues to also email them which they wanted so they could check if it was a singular batch issue or multi batch issue.
I then get an email asking why I've put a post on the raw feeding group and they find it really odd. Then her daughter or someone working for her replied to my post saying they never said this and the owner had denied saying it too. I have the exact messages so they have just lied about wanting others to email them with photos.
Worst of all another member on the page then informs me that the daughter/employee has taken a screen shot of my post and put it on the dogs butchers own private Facebook group presumably to laugh at or be nasty towards me behind my back. So now they may have shared my personal information to a group of strangers I do not know in a private group because I informed them about an issue with their product so they could rectify it.
I searched back on the group and as soon as someone has a query about any of the dogs butcher's products the owner Jo becomes extremely defensive and rude as she has been towards me.
It's obvious this is a reoccurring issue with the manager and her daughter as many reviews on Google and trustpilot are saying the same but Jo accuses everyone of lying. Hundreds of people would not be lying for the sake of it, especially when I'm not requesting a refund, only for them to look into the product.
This is the worst I've ever treated by a business owner and I'll have to take my money elsewhere.
Cue the owner replying to this review saying I'm making it all up as she has done to all the previous Google and trustpilot reviews.

I honestly can't comment on the customer service or the company as I have only bought thier product from a shop that supplies thier product.
My pup ð¶ ð turned his nose up and had gone off some of the most advertised and well know raw foods.
I found a shop that stocks various brands and he will not touch foods with fruit and veg in, and other raws? This brand (and 1 other comes in small balls) he will happily eat away (last 2 weeks) but only in frozen slices? I checked the site (and others about feeding frozen) and it is very Informative (along with some others), as I'm very worried about him eating raw frozen, will slowly ween down to semi frozen. But major thumbs ð up to the food

I dont usually leave negative reviews but it has to be said that my recent experience both over email and the phone was terrible. I'm too scared to give details as I can see they respond badly to reviews on TrustPilot.
There are other companies that supply this kind of service, I suggest you use them. These guys need a management overhaul or something.
Updated: Just see the reply to my review. I am not an ex employee and I don't know what they are referring to - it clearly that it says a lot about a firm if they think that their employees (or ex-employees) are writing bad reviews about them.

I ordered a 20kg box of food costingâŠ
I ordered a 20kg box of food costing £63.30 on Thursday 22nd Sept and the DPD delivery payment was £9.00. I received an email on Friday saying the order was processed but didn't received confirmation of the delivery date so I called this morning to chase up. I was then told that the delivery wouldn't be arriving until tomorrow meaning I was waiting 5 days for delivery. I questioned this as £9.00 delivery fee is extortionate for the length of time I have waited. I was told there is nothing they can do so I replied that I was not happy and would not be ordering from them again.
A few minutes later I was called by 'JO' who informed me that she had 'called back' my order and it would not be delivered at all. This after me saying I had already had to buy food to see my dogs over the weekend due to the order not arriving.
The attitude of the woman I spoke with was appalling, rude and totally unnecessary. If you need a reliable food supplier who will do everything to ensure your dog has food to eat leave 'The Dog's Butcher' off your list of suppliers.

Delighted to have discovered TDB many years ago. I was looking for a high welfare company that also met my exacting ethical standards. I have had many dogs thrive over the years on Joâs excellent quality food. Nothing has ever been too much trouble and customer service is consistently excellent. TDB just gets better and better. Outstanding service and the best Raw Dog Food on the market.
I have been raw feeding for over 10 years. After diy-ing and trying many different brands and being disappointed with the quality of the food, some of which my dogs refused to eat, I stumbled on Facebook where I got talking to Joanne of The Dog's Butcher. She was just starting out and I decided to give her raw food a go and I haven't looked back since. In the 10 years I have been using the dog's butcher I have never had any major issues with the food. On the rare occasion that something was wrong, the customer service was outstanding. I was either given a refund for the product or offered a replacement on my next monthly delivery.
I have had food delivered by courier and on the monthly The Dog's Butcher's van. The food always arrives frozen, and stays frozen even after it being left out on the doorstep for several hours when I was not home when the delivery came.
I can not fault The Dog's Butcher, and I will not go elsewhere for my dogs food. Simply outstanding!

Very disappointing experience with this company, and very unlike most of the lovely raw food providers we have dealt with in the past.
Our order was delivered at around 8 pm at night totally defrosted. The stuff had just been thrown in the box loose with no thought. We had to bin most of the product including pots of frozen liquid that had been packed loose in the box, not secured, and had opened and poured all over everything. We did have dried food included in the order and we admit they say on the website that this may cause things to defrost more quickly however, why on earth would you allow this if this is a risk? Totally non sensical. Every other company we have used has included freeze packs in the order to keep it colder. This order just came in a polystyrene box. The shipping practices are not fit for purpose when delivering orders all over the country. Might work locally but not on a national basis.
However, the biggest problem with this company is the customer service. The manager wasn't prepared to listen to anything we had, insisted on not allowing us to get a word in, and offered no solution other than "you should have read the website". She was abrasive and impolite and eventually said she didn't want to listen or discuss anything with us and hung up.
I'm not sure how they retain customers, and by the looks of the other reviews here we aren't the only ones who have had a bad experience. We sure won't be using this company again and would advise anyone else who is thinking about it to use one of the many other really lovely providers of raw food products out there.
