Extremely impressed. From the initial enquiry through to the final fitting of the loft hatch, we had a very professional and personalised service. The quote was competitive and the finished hatch was great quality.
The fitting was clean and efficient and the engineer was informative and very polite. All round great experience.

Efficient service - installer very friendly, quick and tidy even hoovering up afterwards. Great job and just what we wanted at a good price.

I just wanted to give much praise to John who has today fitted my loft ladder.
He arrived promptly on time at 11.00am despite the awful weather conditions and had completed the fitting by 12.45.
He was charming, courteous and the neatest and tidiest contractor I have ever met, not a spot of dirt or dust was left.
You need to hang on to him and I would be very happy to put a very positive comment on your website if that is possible.

⭐ 1 Star – Avoid This Company

We had an extremely poor experience with Loftman.

Our appointment was originally booked for 20 November but was cancelled by the company. When they rescheduled to 28 November, I spoke directly with Gavin Nall, who clearly agreed that the installer must arrive at 9:00am and be finished before 12pm because of our baby’s nap routine. This was confirmed multiple times in writing.

No one arrived at 9:00am.
No phone call.
Nothing.

At 9:14am, after the appointment time had already passed, we received a message saying the installer would “hopefully” arrive by 12pm. No explanation, no apology.

I had to call the installer myself. He said he was travelling from Coventry (over an hour away), which means the company knew well before 9am that they would not make the appointment but chose not to inform us.

He eventually arrived at 11:40am, almost three hours late and only 20 minutes before the cut-off agreed with Gavin. By then, our baby’s routine had been completely disrupted and he was visibly distressed.

After the installation, our hallway and stairs were left covered in dust and debris. I have photos.

When we raised the issues, Loftman’s responses were:
• denying the agreed 9am appointment (despite written proof)
• claiming they called us (no call was received)
• contradicting their own timeline
• minimising the nearly three-hour delay
• dismissing the mess left
• refusing any apology or responsibility
• and finally a dismissive “continue as you wish” from their director, Jay Brittain

Not once was the impact on our baby acknowledged.

This has now been escalated through the appropriate channels because of the way Loftman handled the situation.

Based on our experience, lateness, poor communication, contradictions, a messy finish, and complete lack of accountability – I strongly advise others to avoid this company.

I engaged them to install a new loft hatch and ladder.
Came very quickly to give a quote. Due to the awkwardness of my hatch, doors and water tank inside the loft, I could not have the ladder I wished, but was informed that the ladder I could have was stronger more robust and had wider treads, so I went with that. The new loft hatch is perfect but the new ladder was far too long and protruded about 12-14 inches above the level of the floor, plus the frame that guides the ladder back into the loft was also at an angle above the floor. I found it impossible to climb over the top of the ladder and the frame to get onto the floor and this was out any boxes in my hands. I got in touch with the office and was told, the ladder could be replaced with a bespoke ladder at no extra cost but there would be a wait. I waited the 6 weeks and then the new ladder was installed and it's the same as my old ladder!! not bespoke but the same as my £40 B & Q one, so no improvement at all. I have paid £255 for the hatch and £275 for the ladder!! True the £275 was for the stronger, longer ladder but I couldn't use. I have rung the office to see if I can get a refund of some sort for the difference in price between the two ladders and nothing. All I needed was just the new loft hatch in the end. They are very quick to do quotes and initial installments but then the after- sales is awful. My sister waited weeks for a refund on a rail she wanted but they didn't install. Jamie the fitter was excellent. Very efficient and friendly and cleaned up afterwards. So installment very good, after sales not so.

Gavin’s team did a fantastic job of insulating and boarding out our loft. Great attention to detail and really neat and tidy job - couldn’t be happier with the end result!

They outsource all work and the workers damaged my property. First of all I was accused by Loftman of it being existing damage, then when they did organize the workers to come back, they didn't come at the agreed time so nobody was home. The work was good enough, but it's safer to work with companies who don't outsource.

Eliott was one of those absolutely amazing humans. Polite, friendly, personable, helpful. He went above and beyond. I will be recommending him to everyone! Contact with the company beforehand to get the free quote was super efficient and fast too.

We had loft access and boarding done by the team .! It was a great experience very easy to contact and good communication made through out the process . They had free quote services available and a professional came and gave us the ideas and confidence how things are going to be done. And on the day our workman jaime was very good and he even was kind enough to clear the large and heavy boards down aswell . He worked through the day and made sure he is not making any disturbance and keep updating us about the progress .! And the installation is very good and great quality overall i had a wonderful experience with them .

Our loft ladder was fitted today by two great guys! Very efficient, prompt, extremely tidy and a great job done. Really impressed from first contact to the completed job today.

The previous house owner had already done some work in the loft. Loftman were able to fit the loft hatch & ladder that he had not installed. The two guys worked hard to remove old doors left in the loft, topped up the insulation, installed the boarding and fitted the loft hatch & ladder. It all went smoothly with minimal hassle whilst they were on-site.

Very happy with the job done to board our loft. We have a quite tricky loft, with a low roof and a water tank bang in the middle, but they made it work to maximise the space available.

I initially contacted this company for loft boarding, and their representative, Eli, was exceptionally professional, polite, and friendly, providing a comparably fair quotation among the competing bids, leading me to happily pay the deposit. Although I would have preferred to proceed with them, a change in my schedule made their later installation date inconvenient, causing me to choose another, equally professional company that could install sooner while I was already off work. I can understand because their demands seem to be heavy were booked already. Despite the cancellation, I fell this is an honest and highly professional company; they handled the refund of my deposit promptly and courteously. I enthusiastically recommend them to others and plan to contact them for future work on my other properties.

From the initial booking of a quotation to the work being completed it was smooth and without issue.
Everyone that I dealt with was professional and works itself was without fault.

What an incredible job these lads did for us. We had to have the hatch made bigger and the loft partially boarded, but what can I say. The duo were so clean, tidy and really polite and helpful, we would highly recommend The Loftman.

The fitter John covered up and clean after the new loft opening and ladder was fitted. And it's so neat, and explain how to open it and bring down the ladder. The electrician also name John ,fitted the light and switch easy access. The loft is so much better with the light fitted

The price was good. Very tidy cleaned up after. Was very quick done in a day. The extra space it has given us is amazing. We had the loft boarded and the wooden loft ladders.

Had a few quotes off different loft companies, not only was the quote a better price so was the time frame for the work, and they fit everything around us! From start to finish the guys was fantastic.

Would 100% recommend 👌🏼
