I have used TOLA many times before. I have also recommended them to others. If you have the time to review applicants and attend viewings then it will save you hundreds of £s compared to a high street estate agent. The staff are also very efficient.

Their service is also great value for money

After a horrific year with another online estate agent - I moved over to TOLA and the experience could not have been more different.

From my first interaction with Eleanor and her team, the experience has been nothing short of perfect. The small team at TOLA provides the service of a small but engaged local estate agent, despite being fully online.

Eleanor went above and beyond to help out with the conclusion of my previous tenancy agreement, deposit and check out issues despite this not being part of TOLA's remit.

The tenant find process went extremely smoothly and I was pleased to see multiple offers after the first rounds of viewing. I felt I could rely on Eleanor's expertise on when would be best to put the advert live, the asking price and dealing with tenants in-situ.

The check-in and pre-tenancy arrangements were also professionally handled by Eleanor and her team.

I cannot recommend TOLA highly enough if you are a landlord wanting to avoid high street agents. Unlike other agents however, you don't deal with call centres and the small team has full accountability to deliver a good service and I know that should there be issues in the future I can rely on them to resolve it for me. In the end, it was the Stakhanovite work ethic of Sarah, at the Online Letting Agents, that finally helped fulfil my long quest to become a landlord. In a flurry of activity (with her even sending messages after close of business; dedication indeed!), it was 5 days from the when the prospective tenants made a formal offer, to them moving in!

Her colleagues, from Magda and Eleanor, my initial contacts, through to Helen, are also to be commended for the consistency of their promptness in their responsiveness to my concerns - incessant questioning - not to mention their patience.

To truly, however, comprehend all their excellence, it is necessary to contextualise their performance. Just as the stars shine brighter for being situated against a bleak backdrop, so the efforts of the team at the Online Letting Agents glow when held up to my experiences with: Belvoir; Open Rent and 99 Homes.

If, however, you are not inclined to read such a verbose review, then here is a ‘sound bite’ appraisal in the parlance of a 1980s cheesy pop power ballad by Tina Turner. The team at the Online Letting Agents are: ‘Simply the best, better than all the rest!’ 

Even the Online Letting Agents corporate branding evokes a superior ethos to their rivals. The serene green is as soothing as the team at the agency; a happy confluence of aesthetics and ethics!

Which, unfortunately, was not the case with Belvoir; the crimson branding in itself should have a been a portend of the coming woe. The Belvoir lettings manager turned out to be the worst kind of evil a professional person can be: incompetent and duplicitous. 

I was never quite sure whether they were incompetently duplicitous; or the latter to cover up the former. In the end, this dialectical ambiguity didn’t really matter, for the result was the same - a complete loss of trust in their competence and integrity. Something I was never once given cause to doubt by the Online Letting Agents performance.

And I only consider myself to blame for my experience with Belvoir, because the lettings manager was basically a walking red flag; unfortunately, avarice made me think the emblem on it was pound signs. A transactional goal that should unite a landlord and agent was frustrated by poor communication with Belvoir.

Like all bad relationships it began with miscommunication; descending into non-communication, which suddenly revived all too late; when I resolved to terminate matters. Communications with the Online Letting Agents, however, was not characterised by such a capricious dialectic. Their responsiveness to my concerns remained consistent throughout; a demonstration of a professional ethos in itself!

Communication with OpenRent and 99 Homes never matched the standards of promptness and consistency of the Online Letting Agents but neither did it degenerate into a state of incommunicado.
One of the co-founder’s of Open Rent emailed me when I failed to make a purchase, passive aggressively asking why. After I, however, emailed a plethora of questions, I never heard from him again; with my questions answered by a different individual. And so it was each time; with never the same person responding.

Whereas at the Online Letting Agents, I was also contacted by a co-founder - Eleanor - who personally addressed all my questions, instead of delegating that chore. Eleanor also did not display the mercenary attitude of Open Rent’s co-founder, whose interest dissipated as soon as it became apparent, I was not ready to buy any thing. While Eleanor was understanding of my hesitancy to proceed.

So was 99 Homes, their responsiveness, however, was slow - and worse, they gave me legally and factually incorrect information. The latter was also true of OpenRent. The information - regarding composing my property description - was contradicted by Rightmove and the advertising regulator.

Whereas the Online Letting Agents never gave me any inaccurate advice; I could trust their professional judgement. And this is another stand out feature of their operation - competence; which excels in all areas.

They are, however, admittedly not the cheapest online agency; that is if your only metric for judging value is quantitative. Arguably though, value is a social relation, and therefore not so arbitrarily defined. And for me, the real value is in my relationship with them.

The ability to rely on their professional competence; integrity and prompt responsiveness, was especially invaluable in my case because they had to mitigate my own serial incompetence!

Hence, in conclusion, I can say, without a doubt, had it not been for Sarah’s superlative efforts, and the team at the Online Letting Agents, I believe I would never have fulfilled my ambitions to become a landlord, so: THANK YOU!!!! Cue Tina…

We have two properties rented through Online Letting Agency. I cannot say enough about this company! We are extremely impressed with their professionalism and would not hesitate in recommending this company.

I'm only part way through the process, but I am already very impressed. The customer service from Helen in the sales team in particular has been amazing. I needed to get the media done in a short time frame due to limited access to the property. Helen chased this through and kept me updated all the way.
