We are sorry to hear about your experience trying to obtain a quotation. We do have automated callback for those customers who do not wish to wait on the line, as well as an online contact form for customers to be able to request a specific time for callbacks too, so we must apologise if this has fallen short of our expected standards in your case. As you left the review anonymously, we have no details to use to be able to help further or work out what went wrong that meant you did not receive a call. We specialise in insuring valuable items, including private collections, so we would love to be able to assist you. We are terribly sorry that you found the phone lines busy at the time of your call, but if you could provide us with your details we would gladly make arrangements for the team to contact you at a suitable time.

This can be for many reasons, such as claim history, profession, home security or various other risk factors. We appreciate your compliment about our helpful staff; this and the many comments both here on Trustpilot and at reviews. io www.reviews.co.uk/company-reviews/store/thmarch.co.uk also support our reputation for our service so it is always disappointing when we don’t meet expectations. We work hard to make our customers happy, and it can be frustrating for us too, since as a broker there are parts of arranging insurance that remain outside of our power because they are controlled by the insurers with whom we deal. From one insurer to the next, each can have different criteria and restrictions when deciding what to underwrite or not. For example, a range of insurers may avoid insuring unemployed persons or students for example, whereas another firm may specialise in this. Since we use one specific insurer only for specialist standalone insurance for jewellery, watches and private collections, it means that we cannot always provide good news for every person applying for insurance. We do appreciate that by us being the face of this bad news, it has impacted how you and your daughter feel about us. Nevertheless, we are sorry that we cannot help her further. We are also sorry that due to data protection reasons, we are unable to discuss your daughter’s case with you.

Customer feedback is very important to us, and we very much appreciate you taking the time to provide your comments. With all this in mind, should any information change in the future, we welcome customers to contact us again and we can refer back to underwriters for review.

Ordinarily, there is an instant response to customers when submitting valuations on our web page or to the valuations email address, because we want to manage customer expectations on what happens next and what the timescales might be. We are so sorry that you found this was not working! However we very much appreciate you raising this technical issue with us and will investigate and correct this immediately. Rest assured your documents have been received, and the team will be reviewing them shortly.

We are very sorry to hear that you have not been impressed with our service so far whilst trying to set up insurance for your watch because you have felt the follow up information/document gathering slow. As you will see from our many reviews on reviews.io and here on Trustpilot, this is not the experience we ordinarily provide or aim for.

Unbeknown to the team at the time, you had posted a review on the service, and they were disappointed that they did not know this when dealing with your case as they would have taken the opportunity to apologise and escalate any concerns to a team leader at the time of the call.

We are sorry that we had cause to cancel your policy due to the watch being purchased from a friend. It can be frustrating for us as a broker, as there are parts of arranging insurance that remain outside of our power because they are controlled by the insurers with whom we deal. From one insurer to the next, each can have different criteria and restrictions when deciding what to underwrite or not. For example, a range of insurers may avoid certain claim histories whereas one insurer may specialise in covering those with such difficulties.

In this case, insurers will not cover watches when they have been purchased from a friend as opposed to a reputable jeweller or dealer. Since we use one specific insurer only for specialist standalone insurance for jewellery, watches and private collections, it means that we cannot always provide good news for every person applying for insurance. Delivering this bad news can impact how a caller feels about our service; we do understand this but are nevertheless sorry that we cannot help further.

Providing quotations, guidance and the right insurance cover to people makes us happy, and we certainly do not operate to waste anyone’s time. However, customer feedback is integral to our progress, and we are always trying to make the customer journey easier. We are continuously looking at how it can be possible to flag insurers’ declinature or query areas as early as possible. We appreciate that making all of this easier is in everyone’s interests, and we very much appreciate you taking the time to provide your comments.
