Dreadful experience! Ordered bespoke table on the 9th April, delivery attempted 5th August. My table arrived broken on the corners due to insufficient packaging, and they sent the legs at incorrect height. DHL took away with them. TRL are holding my money hostage until they recieve back, despite me providing all relevant proof of above. This is a breach of consumer rights which state that full refund must be given within 14 days. The manager, Tim has so far refused my refund despite the deadline ending tomorrow, 19th.
Such a shocking service. Emails mainly ignored and latest WhatsApp messages left unread.
Numerous phonecalls made, thank you Aoife for trying so hard to help me, alas, to no avail, your manager Tim didn't call as promised, which tbh, I expected. It would have been good though to have recieved some type of explanation on why my order went so terribly wrong, along with an apology from him and confirmation of refund.

Overall just a great product, very solid build, looks like it will last for many many years especially compared to most similar products on the market (my previousl table literally came unstuck (was glued) after a couple of years.

Loved the flexibility to design the size and frames to my own specification.

Great customer service, had to make some minor changes to the order, this was handled seamlessly with a refund with no fuss.

We are only talking about the ordering process and the team at TRL were very helpful in dealing with an awkward delivery process.

I first brought a bench in April and have since brought another one for the otherside of the table. They fit under the table perfectly giving more room in the dining room than all our chairs did! They slide nicely on the floor when pulling out to sit on, whereas I had to buy feet protectors for our chairs which looked awful otherwise they would scratch the new floor! We can now sit up to 4 people on each side, two more places than our chairs did! The CS was fantastic to deal with both times and the delivery guys both times were very helpful, polite and built the benches for me. Very happy with them and the overall experience! Thank you

Beautiful table and bench with delivery that was well organised and very professional. Ben went out of his way to help for a special occasion when I was let down by another company at the last minute. He promised me I would have my table in a short window and didn't let me down, even delivered a bench that I had added to the order a few days after.

Ordered a beautiful beech top kitchen table with contrasting black metal X legs, and matching bench. Both items are fabulous - sturdy, attractive and exceedingly pleasing! They were carefully assembled by the chaps who delivered them. Very pleased all round and wouldn't hesitate to use TRL Handmade Furniture in future.

Spoke to Ben via email and phone; very helpful, provided all the options, and also suggested a custom-built item.

I highly recommend TRL Furniture

After several re deliveries and replacements I am still not completely happy and I cannot get to speak to anybody who can resolve my issues.

We had a truly poor experience with this company whom we first saw at the Grand Designs Show. Having seen their products on display we decided to eventually order a bespoke dining table with leaf extensions. We visited their factory and after leaving clear instructions of how we wish the table to be made, we left looking forward to our new table arriving.
From here things went downhill. The table arrived with gaps in the tabletop joints and both ends were chipped and had not been routed as requested. I have to question how a table in this condition was allowed to pass through any quality controls.
I made contact with Ben at TRL who agreed to remake the table and stressed that the ends of the table and leafs must be routed, I also asked for photos before the new table was delivered, but these were never sent. The remade table arrived and again it had not been routed despite continuous clear instructions. I was told the table would be finished correctly and delivered back to us asap. After waiting 2 weeks without any communication from TRL, I chased this to be told they didn’t know about the table issue?? After finally speaking to Ben for about the four time throughout this process he finally confirmed the table would be delivered the following week. I suspect this table was being made for a third time. The table finally arrived some three months after our original order.
I contacted TRL once the table was delivered correctly to request they give ve consideration to compensation for the continued inconvenience, but they failed to reply or even offer an apology.

Here is a timeline of my experience of the non-existent customer service from TRL, regarding the purchase of a simple wooden bench:

• 2nd April 2026 – Order placed and paid in full through Notonthehighstreet.com
• 13th April 2026 – This was the initial date given for despatch
• 1st May 2026 – No contact had been made so I chased up the order asking for a revised delivery date – NO RESPONSE FROM TRL
• 6th May 2026 – Follow up request made as no response to the previous message - NO RESPONSE FROM TRL
• 12th May 2026 – contacted Customer Services at NOTHS – they sent a chasing request through for information/delivery – NO RESPONSE FROM TRL
• 14th May 2026 – No responses through any of the above channels so sent an email directly to TRL (this address). Tracked email, so delivery receipt confirmed but no read receipt, so you are either blocking customer emails or just not bothering to read them – NO RESPONSE FROM TRL
• 2nd June 2026 – Frustrated at the lack of progress/information, I requested a refund of my original order – IMMEDIATE RESPONSE FROM TRL!!!
• 2nd June 2026 – TRL apologise for the delay, citing a change of premises as the reason (although there has been no change to any of the address details on the website). Said a refund could not be given as the item had already been manufactured and was being picked up by the courier that same week.
• 9th June 2026 – Order status changed to “Dispatched – it should be with you by 19th June 2026”
• 3rd July 2026 – No contact from TRL or any couriers etc and no sign of the item, sent further message requesting updates as to what is happening. – NO RESPONSE FROM TRL

The company shows a complete disregard for their customers, ignores all efforts to contact them, and refuses to respond to any reasonable and polite requests for information and updates. The only time they have responded was at the point that I requested a refund, and even then I was fed excuses and promises which they have once again broken.

I still have no bench, and no idea as to when it might be delivered.

I will never use them again and would advise others to avoid due to a complete lack of customer service

I ordered a bespoke oak dining table from TRL Handmade Furniture. Upon delivery, the table top had a visible colour inconsistency — two lighter strips running the full length of the table, which did not match the agreed specification.

I contacted the company with photos on 16 June and followed up twice. Despite an initial phone call where they said they would resolve the issue, I have received no written response or proposed solution to date — nearly three weeks later.

Very disappointing experience. I hope the company will take responsibility and resolve this matter.

Ordered lots from both for my office & got VAT invoices upon request!

Solid piece of furniture, once it eventually arrived, but the seat depth is only 35mm versus the recommended 40–45mm, making it uncomfortable to sit on. The wood also developed a lot of sticky sap along the full length of the seat, rendering it unusable. TRL offered a replacement and the option to increase the seat depth, but at an additional cost (£120 for 5mm or £170 for 10mm) on top of an already expensive bench
