Smarthomesurveys carried out a 2015 valuation on my London property for capital gains tax purposes. The survey was carried out promptly and a clear report was provided. A great experience in what can be a very frustrating property sale process.

The service was efficient (done shortly after I requested it), cost effective (best price I could find) and they were quick to respond to my questions.

Our request for a survey was carried out within days of the instruction and the report followed soon afterwards. The survey was a level 2 survey with pictures and the report was very thorough and easy to understand. Over a telephone conversation, they recommended a level 2 survey because a level 3 one would be an overkill, even though there is quite a price difference for them. The pictures were optional and we found it very helpful as you don't always see what the surveyor sees during a viewing. The included phone call after the survey was extremely helpful to talk through the issues. For us, there was one particular issue they identified amongst others that is essential for our decision with the purchase and the report has come in time for us to pause the conveyancing work while it is being resolved. We don't know what the result might be yet but the survey results played a huge part in our decision making process. I would recommend their services.

Ian and Adam from Smart Home Survery were great. Adam expediently took care of the admin side of things and Ian went in to look at the property I was considering. The report he offered was very thorough, and he took the time to have a phone chat about it after I received. The report was very detailed and easy to understand. The surveyor was very cooperative.

They even answered some of my follow-up questions two months later when my solicitor flagged some ground stability issues and they explained which ground stability checks they had done by default and what I could possibly do on top to feel extra safe.

Great comms from the company, was able to discuss a few topics and available to guide, much appreciated, would recommend to any others.
