Hey beautiful, it’s Shelley here, owner and founder of Vine Apparel – welcome :)
I wanted to give you a little bit of an idea of how we came about, and what we are about, so here goes.
The word fashion has always intimidated me – I’ve always felt like it meant you needed to be a skinny little model buying expensive labels and looking perfect at all times. I’ve never been a skinny little anything but I LOVE dresses (and pockets, and buttons) and I like to feel good and be comfortable at ALL times. Jeans were my nemesis.
In 2009 I was 23, wanting new clothes all the time, but couldn’t afford the prices in the shops near where I lived (or didn’t want to pay them). So, I sourced some suppliers and decided to give our local markets a go. From there came clothes parties – where people could shop in the comfort of their own homes with their friends whilst I chatted and ate food, and it grew from there.
It seems like a lifetime ago now – I was doing 7 markets per month and 4-5 clothes parties a week, I can honestly say I absolutely slogged it. I hired a girlfriend to help 1 day a week, which turned into 7 days per week, and it goes on. I’ll put some photos below of how we started so you can see how hilarious it was. It blows my mind that it still works, and I continue to learn and make mistakes every single day.
What does Vine Apparel stand for?
Vine Apparel to me is about making it easy. Effortless. Taking the thinking out of getting dressed. We are reliable, in that you will always have something to wear, and that something will look good every single time you put it on. You know how something can look good one day but the next day you have no idea how on earth you wore it the day before? That doesn’t happen with our stuff.
We want choosing what to wear to be one less thing you need to think about.
You can rely on it. You don’t need to be skinny. Or tall. You can be you, and you can look beautiful, and you can feel beautiful, regardless of what’s going on in your world.
And we are affordable. Always. You can treat yourself and still pay your bills. Buy your kids (and yourself of course) an ice cream at the beach. You can still do life.
What are my favourite things about Vine Apparel?
Our customers, our community. I love that people come back! Honestly I do, both in store and online. I love that people know what they’re getting, that people come in to our stores knowing they’ll find something, they won’t have a shopping hangover after, and they will actually wear every single thing they buy from us, often.
And they are honestly the nicest people in the world. Feedback we get all the time is amazing, and my absolute favourite part is that they are real. Not all photo-shopped supermodels who could look good in a paper bag, they are real people.
Mums who are always on the go. 20 something year olds going to gigs or festivals, someone looking for a dress to wear to a wedding, someone, anyone – looking for something they can just throw on on those “I have nothing to wear” days.
I love that our range is so versatile, and so many things are people’s “go to” when they are in a rush, or have something on. And EVERYTHING IS COMFORTABLE!
I love my staff, I love them. I have the best humans in the entire world working with me, and I love every single day. My husband works with us now too, my children are a part of it, it’s just the absolute best.
I just love it, I do. And I especially love having people try things on which would usually be outside of their comfort zone, but they do, and they end up loving it. I think that’s my ultimate. And I love that I can be me, my very own dorky ridiculous self pretty much always wearing my thongs, and people can relate to it.
This is why our aim is not just to sell you clothes – we genuinely want you to get dressed, look in the mirror and smile.

Great service and quick turn around…
Great service and quick turn around between order and receipt of goods. Quality of garments could have been better eg sleeve openings far too big, but I have yet to wear them so can’t comment.

Shocking service and returns policy…
Shocking returns policy for a FAULTY item that they say was not faulty. It was then at least misrepresented online. The quality is horrible and sizing always way off. Terrible service from their team and they don’t ever do refunds just vouchers. Don’t waste your time buying from here.

Above and beyond…..
I needed to purchase a top for a funeral (a small child’s funeral and it was requested we wear “happy colours“and I’m a massive fan of black) I messaged Shelley on Sunday…this gorgeous girl whilst recuperating from Covid sprung into action, alerted her amazing team, my order was processed and posted on Monday morning and at my home on Wednesday morning ready for the funeral on Thursday….aside from the incredible service, I received a really beautiful message from Shelly sending love and strength my way, it meant so much.
Vine Apparel is an incredibly successful business run by a beautiful soul…thank you Shelley, you went above and beyond and your kindness will always be remembered.

I suspect the clothes,modelled are altered to fit the midel otherwise why doesn't my jacket fit like hers when were both a 10. My arms are huge hers are fitted. Mine are at least 10cm,longer than,the,models which is physically impossible unless her arms are 10cm longer than,mine and we are the same height but her jacket,is,shorter. Sizing all over the place.,won't be purchasing again especially as they, won't refund

Hey Marg. We provide garment measurements on our website which we encourage customers to view before purchasing. Our sizes can vary between each style due to the different suppliers we use. The Zoey jacket you're referring to, like any garment, its going to look different on every body due to differences in proportions. We also do not alter clothing to fit our models. Everything I buy is good quality, in good condition and arrives in a timely manner. I have been buying from vine apparel regularly for couple of years now and I've always been happy. I love the new $2 protection of your delivery, gives that extra piece of mind for a small fee.

Have bought some great items BUT a newly worn shirt had a stain..quickly hand washed as recommended..the colour that drained from this item was amazing.myet it had previously apparently been washed..stain stayed..they won't help so they've now lost a good customer..shame !

AVOID AVOID Vine Apparel, sizes are inconsistent and way off, quality of clothing is terribly poor, they have zero customer service and DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS. They are being investigated by ACCC and Fair Trading, for multiple complaints re; breach of consumer law and their DODGEY Returns Policy

Hi Deb, I'm sorry to hear you're so unhappy - we can see you have and are posting across multiple platforms with the same message, so we will reply with the same message across all of them. Deb, you bought a Final Sale item from our website, then wanted to return it. Unfortunately Final Sale is Final Sale, and we do have this clearly outlined in multiple places on our website. We communicated with you through emails and Paypal, where you edited one of the emails we sent you and posted it, when it wasn't what we wrote to you. As we have said repeatedly, the Final Sale Winter Kylie you bought is Final Sale, and it cannot be exchanged. There is however a Buy Swap Sell page where you can list it and someone will probably want to buy it :) Just so you know, if a business is dodgy and acting illegally, it will be dealt with in a speedy manner by the above mentioned faculties. We have been running for 13 years now (nearly), majority of our customers are repeat customers, and we have a physical store which we have had for ten years! If we were dodgy and doing illegal things, we most definitely would not be in business still. We have terms and conditions which are clearly stated, and we do our best to help our customers as much as we can - we want them to be happy, we want people to love wearing our things. Unfortunately the unhappy people are louder than the happy people, which is the way of the world. Please let us know if we can help with anything else, at all. Take care x
My boy style jeans are very comfy and…
My boy style jeans are very comfy and I’m happy with the purchase, however, I bought the 14 and even though they’re comfy and I’ve pulled the side tabs the whole way, I should’ve got the 12 as they’re a but baggy. Delivery was great, they arrived in just a few days.
