They don't explain hidden import fees to the buyer; they wait until the issue arises, and their way of resolving it is to point out that it is explained in the fine print—so be careful.

Thank you for your feedback, and I am sorry the customs charge came as a surprise.

To clarify this: import duties and the carrier's brokerage fee are charged by the destination country's customs authority on arrival. We do not collect them and receive no part of them. Because orders shipped outside the EU are invoiced at 0% VAT, our prices are lower than domestic retail — but the buyer is responsible for any duties in their own country. This is stated in our shipping information, not buried anywhere.

US import rules have changed significantly over the past year, and charges now apply to parcels that previously arrived free. We appreciate that this is unwelcome, but it is outside our control.

Your order is still with the carrier and can be delivered. If you would prefer not to proceed, we will process a return and refund of the goods under our returns policy. We remain available at info@watchexclusive.eu.

Requested a return authorisation and no response

Requested a return authorisation last Friday, and now it's tuesday and still no response. seems like they're intentionally waiting for the return window to pass despite my request being well before the deadline. if so, this is terrible customer service.

Update/response:
I got back the following "Request status: - Request made" email from [info at watchexclusive.eu] a few minutes after i made the return request by following the return procedure on your website :

Great watch! Reasonable price.
Fast shipping even though delivery to Ukraine took longer than expected / advertised.
Watch was already running and draining the battery. I assumed it should be started 1st time by me after removing yellow stripe from the crown.

Mi-a fost trimisa factura pentru ceasul cumparat dupa aproximativ 10 zile si mari insistente. Cei de la watchexclusive sustineau ca nu au comfirmarea platii desi ar fi trebuit sa ajunga banii la ei imediat dupa predarea coletului catre mine.

Unfortunately, as you chose cash on delivery via Packeta and Fan Courier, we can only issue the invoice after receiving the official payment confirmation and the exact amount in EUR from Packeta. This confirmation is usually sent to us several days after the parcel has been delivered, and we are unable to issue the invoice before receiving it.
