Invited us to presentation

Invited us to presentation, offered a condo to stay in worth $1100 if we attended. We arrived, they said we owed them money and wouldn't present. From 2 yrs so. Never once have they asked us for money from 2 yrs ago. Our credit report is pretty clean, doesn't mention this. I have an email receipt of the payment. Now we have to reschedule with some other company to present. They didn't offer to clear up the matter immediately, just send emails on Monday. They called their security when I explained that they were being unprofessional and I would probably say mean things about their business. He was a serious guy, pretty professional. But they called him why? One star because there aren't negative stars.
We found another presentation company to save our charge on our condo.

Our timeshare contract with Westgate…

Our timeshare contract with Westgate Resorts was initiated in Las Vegas in October 2023. I have had several serious concerns that have arisen since then. The sales process was strategically orchestrated for manipulation and coercion. When we initially declined,
they made breakfast available but deliberately prevented my husband and me from going through the breakfast line together. Upon returning to our table, we found a new sales representative who began an intensive questioning session about our vacation habits,
including details about our children, travel party size, and typical vacation spending. The sales representative overwhelmed us with vacation possibilities, rapidly comparing hotel costs to their various timeshare resorts. Each time we declined their offers,
the pressure intensified. The salesperson would leave to consult with others, returning with supposedly lower costs and reduced monthly fees. This pattern continued with the introduction of a higher-ranking representative who maintained the same high-pressure
tactics with additional price reductions. The presentation environment was deliberately disruptive, with a crowded, noisy room filled with loud voices and background music, while the sales representative spoke very quickly. After approximately five hours,
which far exceeded the promised 45-minute period, we were taken on a tour of different rooms to show various upgrades. The final deed completion process was rushed through on an iPad, presented as a convenient way to view available timeshare resorts. We have
never used the timeshare since purchasing it. Their claims about the ability to sell or rent out the timeshare have proved not only unrealistic but actively misleading, and the combination of monthly interest payments, undisclosed fees, and the probability
of increasing maintenance fees has created a significant financial burden.

By far the worst experience I’ve ever…

By far the worst experience I’ve ever had immediately during check-in. It took 45 minutes just to make it to the receptionist desk with only three families in line including myself after check-in. It took 40 minutes to get a ride to our room. I think it’s a nightmare that they charge $25 per person to enter the waterpark so that’s $50 a day for my family. The prices are extremely high the Internet never worked so I was unable to do any of my schoolwork out of the 4 to 5 restaurants. Only one was the one that was open we ate chicken tenders at had, cheeseburger, and pizza. My little one wanted tenders and there was no condiments available except for blue cheese out of all of the six options listed the soda that I got out of the vending machine of course was halfway open and flat. This is day two and with buying two meals a day as in quesadilla and nachos came to $40. That quesadilla was also on the kids meal chicken tenders and fries were $18 for two meals a day and entrance to the waterpark with a family of two you’re spending about $125 and up to eat and to have access to the pool I come to Orlando about 3 to 4 times a year And this is by far the worst resort that I have stayed at not to mention our tub is filthy. I 100% Do not recommend all of the bars close at 6 PM which is insane except for draft but of course they are closed today. Last call for Food for the resort is at 6 PM. Yes, you can go off the resort to eat, but this is a resort where families come for vacation they should really accommodate us while we are here. We check out on Thursday I am ready to go now

I had a terrible experience with…

I had a terrible experience with Westgate Resorts and strongly advise anyone to think twice before signing anything. From the beginning, the sales tactics were manipulative and deceptive. Our rep, Chique, quickly shifted her pitch after learning we owned rental properties—suddenly claiming we could rent out our timeshare on Airbnb, which we later found out was completely untrue as the price always fluctuate and seems to be the same as regular prices.

We were also promised rooms for $49.99, a huge selling point for us, but we never once saw those rates offered. Six months in, it became clear that what we were sold and what we received were two very different things, so I made the decision to stop paying. Even though it’s now been over three years, Westgate continues to threaten our credit.

This entire experience has been stressful and full of regret. Do yourself a favor—don’t fall for the high-pressure sales and false promises.

Horrible and violating

I knew the moment I signed up for this I did a mistake but I wanted my deposit back, a free show and the $75 giftcard. Everything that everyone says on here is what happened to me. I said no and they kept pressuring me. I felt almost violated from the way they treated me. I was at the Smokies resort and Amy showed me around and talked about the resort and timeshare. She seemed really nice and she said she worked with the owners and not in sales. When I said no to the outrageous price she got a manager. Her name was Lori and she kept making the price go lower and lower to down to $7000. She made a rude comment that I wouldn’t take it if it was free. I should have said yep I wouldn’t because of how you pressure me and your rudeness!
Then Lori left and Amy kept reminding me how this would help me save money on my vacations. Then they try to get you to try it without a contract. I said no to that too. 90 minutes turned into 4 hours
I felt drained and depressed all day
Wished I looked at the reviews beforehand

Horrible experience

Horrible experience — biggest mistake ever.

From the moment we walked in, it was clear this was going to be a high-pressure sales trap. Alec and his associates were relentless — even after repeatedly saying no, they kept circling back with the same pitch over and over. Alec was visibly frustrated when we declined, and the pressure only intensified. One associate even gave us another pitch while sitting down, after I had firmly declined. It was exhausting and honestly felt like we were being held hostage.

This was not just my experience — countless others online echo the same thing. Aggressive sales tactics, misleading “free” offers that turn into hours-long presentations, and hidden fees that don’t get revealed until it’s too late. Some people even say the staff made promises that didn’t match what was actually offered in the contract.

Whatever they offer you, walk away. Better yet, don’t even show up. The whole thing feels like a scam, designed to wear you down until you say yes. Don’t get pulled into the trap — we smelled something was off from the beginning, and we should have trusted that instinct.

SCAMMERS – Stay Away From Westgate or You’ll Regret It

Absolutely disgraceful experience. Westgate operates a timeshare farce / scam that preys on trust, confusion, and pressure. We were lied to about the numbers, the monthly cost, and worst of all, locked into a lifetime of “maintenance fees” that are never fixed and ALWAYS increase. This is a rinse and repeat system—thousands of people are paying for the same 2- or 3-bedroom villas, which can only be booked during their limited time slots. Even then, you’re charged a $150 booking fee.

They promise one week of usage per year, but only on their terms—availability is limited and difficult to secure. If you want more time, you’re directed to Westgate Getaway Breaks for $499 or to Interval International, where you pay $239 plus an additional fee, even if it’s a discounted rate.

When we initially said no, Luis Sosa, the manager, came over and ramped up the pressure. They asked personal questions about our profession and income, trying to break us down. After dropping the price multiple times, we reluctantly said yes.

But when we changed our minds, things took a turn. We were handed over to a closing officer called Inna Trakhanovska, who had been friendly when we came up—until we changed our minds again as she went through it and said no again. She instantly became hostile, tried to convince us with the line of “you can pass this down to your children” etc, after standing firm and saying no - then accused us of wasting their time, and tried emotionally guilt tripping us to TRY and make us feel bad - didn’t work. She then snatched the paperwork from our hand and told us “we’d regret this” - is that a threat?! Such awful, unprofessional and manipulative behaviour because someone has said NO?!?

If you’re even considering Westgate timeshare —DON’T. You’ll be trapped in a system designed to bleed you dry year after year for a FAKE sense of ownership that thousands of others also “own.” You’ll be thousands of pounds out of pocket, with never-ending maintenance fees that go up year on year, limited availability in booking and nothing but regret.

Avoid at all costs.

I WAS INTOXICATED THEY ARE PREDATORS

I’m writing this to warn others about my experience. I purchased a timeshare with WEST GATE RESORTS in Las Vegas about a year ago while under the influence of alcohol and marijuana during their sales presentation. I was pressured into signing a contract I didn’t fully understand while impaired, and I’ve since realized the promises made during the pitch were misleading or not honored in the contract.

Since then, I’ve filed complaints with the CFPB and BBB, but WESTGATE has refused to release me from the contract or acknowledge the unethical conditions under which it was signed.

Their tactics feel predatory, especially toward vulnerable tourists who are not in a proper state of mind to make a financial decision of this size. I’ve also submitted a formal letter and will continue to pursue cancellation through legal channels and the Nevada Attorney General.

If you’re considering doing business with them, please read everything carefully and avoid making any decisions under pressure or while intoxicated. This company took advantage of me, and I don’t want others to go through the same experience.

The contract we entered with Westgate…

The contract we entered with Westgate Resorts in May 2023 was done so under circumstances fraught with deceptive sales practices and material misrepresentation. During what was represented as a brief "2-hour" presentation on our Orlando vacation, we were subjected to a high-pressure sales environment. We met this opportunity while looking for Universal Studios tickets during our spring break with our son. We responded to an advertisement offering discounted tickets in exchange for attending what was described as a 2-hour breakfast and informational presentation. Upon arrival at 9am, we were assigned to a salesperson who assured us we would be finished within two hours. Instead, the presentation lasted over six hours, during which we were subjected to relentless sales pressure. Particularly disturbing was that our identification documents were taken from us at check-in, effectively preventing us from leaving when the agreed-upon 90 minutes had passed. This tactic forced us to still be on the premises for six hours, deliberately wearing down our resolve until we bought something we could not afford. This practice of holding guest’s captive is unconscionable. Westgate representatives did not show several critical elements of the agreement. They did not inform us that this was a lifetime commitment, which is a serious breach of trust and failure to show material terms. Additionally, they did not inform us of the interest rate on the financing, the required membership fees for exchange companies like Interval and Westgate Cruise and Travel, the specific cancellation period for the contract, or the fact that HOA and maintenance fees would increase over time. They repeatedly left the table and returned with managers or supervisors who would cross out numbers on paperwork and write lower figures to create urgency and pressure. Finally, multiple employees claimed that Westgate had an affiliation with Disney. This claim has turned out to be a complete fabrication and was one of the main reasons we bought the timeshare. This deliberate misrepresentation of a Disney partnership is fraudulent and constitutes false advertising.

My girlfriend and I were offered Universal tickets at a discounted price if we attended a "tour" at our hotel by a man at the desk. I already had a feeling it would be a sales pitch but didn't realize it would take 4 1/2 hours! Extremely pushy sales rep was showing us the places only to constantly hit a wall (me) so they sent two other sales people to try and guilt trip me into buying a timeshare. We eventually said no enough times and the last girl to pester us finally conceded and we got the tickets to universal. Just be cautious when offered these and very firm. Don't let these people push you around.

BEWARE of their Professional SCAM!

The only praise I will give is to the people working at the resorts making sure your customer experience in your stay is exceptional. I have nothing bad to say about the 3 properties I have stayed at. But in reading the reviews now, maybe we got lucky on our stays.

DO NOT ATTEND THEIR SALES PITCH!!
This is to formally tell WESTGATE we will NO LONGER be making anymore payments to your scam. It has been one year and we have been lied to one too many times by your sales people. We initially bought in March 2024 in Vegas only to go to Orlando in October 2024 for them to convince us that Orlando was a better location for our membership. Moving forward to March 2025 while we were back in Vegas, we were then told that was incorrect and we never should have moved our ownership to Orlando. WOW .... and if we wanted to fix it, it was going to cost us thousands more. It is all lies, you have fleeced us of thousands of dollars, so unless you plan to do right by us and give us MOST of our money back, as we have stayed at 3 different Westgate facilities in the last year, but not to the tune of the money we gave you. We trusted you and your sales people fed us half truths and lies. There isn't anything you can do for us from this day forward unless there is compensation. We will share our HORRIBLE experience about Westgate to everyone we know or don't know. I will post on a consistent basis too be sure my review can be seen by as many as possible. Very sad as the people that work at the resorts are the ONLY people who seem to care or at least have been trained well in how to give good customer service as we have enjoyed our stays. From the Sales Management upwards, you are nothing but snakes and scam artists and you have it down to a science. I spent almost 20 years working onboard ships in the cruise industry and at times I thought our corporate office was sleezy, but you take the cake. I will be sure the hundred thousands of people I have stayed in touch with over my 20 years will know this horrible experience. So unless you want to refund us the thousands of dollars we gave you this last year. Please do not reach out to us, unless you plan to give us some money back.

Westgate Resorts epitomizes the…

Westgate Resorts epitomizes the predatory timeshare industry, transforming vacation dreams into financial nightmares through manipulative sales tactics. Their approach preys on unsuspecting consumers by offering seemingly attractive deals that quickly unravel into complex, costly contracts. We were pressured into purchasing a timeshare with a staggering interest rate, discovering too late the contract's hidden pitfalls. The company's aggressive marketing conceals escalating maintenance fees, limited vacation availability, and a virtually nonexistent resale market. Potential buyers are lured by promises of affordable, lifelong travel opportunities, only to find themselves trapped in a financially draining commitment with minimal benefits. The biggest problem with the regulation of the timeshare industry is the short legal cancellation window. For us, we didn’t realize we had been scammed until years after we purchased.

My family's experience with Westgate…

My family's experience with Westgate Resorts has been nothing short of a nightmare. What was promised as an $8,000 investment for unlimited annual vacations quickly doubled to $16,000 when we discovered we had only purchased even-year usage rights. The sales
presentation was filled with misrepresentations—hidden fees, constantly increasing maintenance costs, limited availability, and unexpected charges became our reality. During one stay, our vehicle was even broken into due to inadequate security. Every visit
included high-pressure sales meetings pushing us to spend even more money on "upgrades."

I'm writing this as a warning to all potential customers: STAY AWAY from Westgate Resorts. We sent a formal letter detailing our issues and requesting contract termination, but it was completely ignored. This speaks volumes about how they treat customers
after they've secured your money. If you ever need assistance or have legitimate complaints, you can count on Westgate to ignore your concerns. Don't make the same costly mistake we did—their promises are empty, and their customer service is non-existent once they have your signature on the contract.

Westgate Orlando is unsafe

Owners for less than six months and today the detective has confirmed it was a Westgate employee who broke into our villa in Orlando and who stole a purse. You are not safe at Westgate. If you are an owner, I highly recommend that you reconsider. I do have receipts and information that I will start posting once this case is closed with Orlando PD.

While on a family vacation in Orlando

While on a family vacation in Orlando, a Disney ticket seller offered us a $200 gift card in exchange for attending a tour of a Westgate resort. I was skeptical but agreed to go, believing it was a promotion for the resort. Upon arrival, we enjoyed a buffet before a salesman asked about our vacation preferences before presenting the time share offer. After the tour, the salesman claimed we could use a two-bedroom unit in any Westgate resort, not just in Orlando. He then laid out the payment plan which we said we couldn’t afford as money was tight. The salesman left and returned with his manager who also was his father and who offered a discount. I was very frustrated when it took another six or more hours to get our $200 gift card as they kept sending us to different floors. I asked if we could cancel if we changed our minds and was told we had ten days to do so. I also asked about maintenance fees, which were described as happening every two years. However, there was no mention that the maintenance costs would go up nor was there any information about the full financial implications of this purchase. Since signing the contract, we looked up Westgate’s reputation online and it was atrocious. So, we initiated several phone calls to cancel the agreement, but every phone call was unsuccessful as we’re simply told “let me transfer you to someone who can help.”  Over the past three years, we’ve realized that Westgate Resorts pushed us into a purchase that was not in alignment with our vacation needs or financial situation.

Do no attempt to book this hotel. Do not book, you will find several other hotels on the street and surrounding .
