This is the worst experience I have ever had in my life with an online order. I placed an order online on the 27th November which got cancelled without giving me any reason. Waited 1 hour on the phone to resolve this and place another identical order on the 30th November which I should have received today. I called today they said my order hasn’t even shipped, they don’t know when it will ship and there’s nothing I can do. Then the advisor on the phone just hang up the phone on me, after being on rude and unhelpful. In 10 days I’ve wasted hours of my time on the phone with A&F, without anyone being able to help me, without ever receiving a call back or email, without receiving my order. This is unacceptable, I feel disrespected, dissapointed and I’m out of Christmas gifts just 2 weeks before Christmas. Unbelieveable how a global brand like A&F are treating their customers.

Very complicated return, not only you need to pay for your delivery but then you need to pay for the return as well. Which I was fine with but then..
I requested a refund to my Direct Debit but I got a gift voucher instead... when I contacted them they said that I did not create an online return which makes absolutely no sense as I created return and chose the option in which I would like a refund and there was no mention of e gift voucher. I will never shop with them again only because of how complicated they make delivery and return. It's almost 2021 and online shopping is on the rise but this company seems to be behind with their service. There are other places where they appreciate you and give you options.

Poor quality clothing, zip broken after 2 English winters.
Bought Abercrombie & Fitch winter coat for husband in December 2017, after 1 month of wearing in 2017 and another 2 months of wearing in 2019. The zip was completely broken. Contacted customer service and was told that this is normal and they would not repair or replace it.
It is not normal that a zip does not last for 2 winters for a premium brand such as Abercrombie and Fitch.
No option but to bin the coat. Waste of money.

Return charge rip off!

£9 to return an item on top of original £5 delivery charge. Will not be shopping with them again, very angry as this was not made clear on ordering items.

Bought online many times and only ever went well for me

I thought I’d treat myself to some good quality (and slightly expensive) clothes from
A&F this summer but it’s turned out to be a nightmare. I ordered 3 items, only two of which got shipped out. I was charged once when I ordered the items online and then again when the two items got shipped out... I am down almost £200 because for this double charge and now I have to pay £9 to return the two items I have because they aren’t a nice fit. I’ve been in contact with two customer service employees about the charged but I still haven’t got my money back yet! I am now having to send them my bank statement so they can review the issue AGAIN. Unfortunately this will be my first and last time buying at A&F.

Excellent service, but knocked off 1 star as the cost to return items seems excessive at £9. Bought goods worth £150 so relatively speaking, £9 is not so bad and I went ahead and purchased knowing this. Daughter loved the clothes - seem like good quality. Returned some items and automatically received a refund as soon as I posted them at the post office - brilliant!

So far purchases have good and delivered quite fast. I don't like the 9-pound return fee but the instore return process was fast and easy. Happy with the service overall.

A&F online is an object lesson in how to destroy a brand in double-quick time through stupidity.

Ordered some swimming trunks which were described as having a mesh liner. On receiving them found out they actually had a cycling short stitched inside shorts - so giving a feeling of wearing two pairs of shorts at the same time - the last thing you'd want to do when the weather is hot enough to go swimming!

The material of the inner was like lycra and in no way could be referred to as a mesh that you get on swimming trunks which is loose fitting, breathable and lightweight.

Contacted A&F as the item was misdescribed for a refund, was told by 'Christian' that I could return to a shop for a refund. Closest shop is in London, 60 miles away / £40 round trip. And it's closed due to the coronavirus. I pointed this out, to which he wrote back saying that he'd like to be more helpful but couldn't and they would be charging £9 to return the shorts. I replied to say that was unreasonable - at that point there was no further communication back from A&F.

I will obviously never even look at site again. I've filed a claim with PayPal - if anyone is determined to buy anything from A&F online then I would suggest you pay with PayPal so they can deal with your dispute on your behalf.

I wasn’t expecting to find so many negative reviews about Abercrombie; of course, all their negative reviews relate to their shoddy returns process, which is my issue too, except the item they sent me was faulty.

So what happens when you are sent a child’s FAULTY top with an unravelled seam arm?

Well not a lot. If you send photos of the offending item, you are told to take it into a store for a refund (or use their returns system that charges you £9). There’s no store in my town and at £20/25 for a rail ticket to central London, Abercrombie are probably banking that a customer won’t do it.

Who does broken/faulty items returns process well? TKMaxx. These guys ask for photos, then immediately refund you.

Abercrombie, you’ve seen the photos of the unravelled sleeve. It’s a £9.99 top; seriously, it’s staggering that you are refusing to do the right thing here and just refund me. The only reason we’ve held onto this top is for proof, it’s literally unraveling into one big heap of thread.

If any clothing store is going to go under during Covid, it’s probably going to be Abercrombie, solely based on how they are upsetting their existing client base. Pitting short term gains over long term losses never works as a business strategy.

I’ve given them the chance to rectify this, but I keep getting the same response: return it to the store; they tailor their words like they’re following scientific advice; well, it didn’t work for parliament, it probably won’t work for you either.

In summary, if you are struggling to find yarn to make face masks with, look no further than Abercrombie and Fitch; their jerseys unravel like magic revealing the most expensive polyester/nylon yarn money can buy.

TRUSTPILOT, I understand you are fighting fake reviews, but please turn your focus to the customers as well, consider allowing us to upload photos of items. (I’m on mobile, so maybe you have the facility on desktop?) Thanks so much.

Similar experience on returns policy. Paid £5 for original postage but item was way oversized. Looked to exchange it for a smaller size, which was in stock when I placed the order. I was then subsequently informed that the order was out of stock. Had I known this at the time I would not have placed the exchange/order. So I have paid £5 for original postage and £9 for the return for nothing. Will not be buying from them again!

Do not buy online.

I placed an order on 3rd May and payment was taken as a pending transaction off my card. The items were then shipped 12th May and I was charged again. I contacted customer services to be told “ Don't worry, the hold will fall off automatically to your card, and usually takes 5 to 7 business days”.

Why should I be charged twice and have to wait for the holding Payment to be cleared?

I Won’t be using these online services again.

Brought some items in the sale as a first time customer. Stuff was not bad. Original postage on the high side at £5. Kept 2 wanted to return the 3rd. Only then did realise it was a swindle. £9 return fee to a UK address or do it your self for "free" to Netherlands one (Royal mail quoting £20).

First and last time I shop here. Avoid until they change this outrageous policy.

I love shopping from Abercrombie & Fitch website. Lovely and good quality cloths. You can find great deals on their website too. I've never had any issues with returning an item, in fact i have recently experienced refunds being processed back to my card within 1-2 days from the day i returned them. Amazing. Love love love!

Don't know if they have listened to feedback, but placed order for 4 items. Returned one for exchange and both delivery and return were free. Return label was included, so only had to stick on and drop at post office.

Based on other reviews, maybe it shows they have listened?

Anyway, can't fault my experience.

I have ordered from their website quite a few times now and my experiences have always been good! They also often have great discount codes and money off promotions. Recently an item I ordered went missing, I used the website chat function and spoke to customer service. They were very helpful and said the delivery tracking hadn’t been updated so they couldn’t locate the item therefore they would refund me. I was very disappointed. Weirdly the next day the item showed up! I always return items to store (although I do have to travel to the Trafford centre to do this which is a bit annoying). The return charge is extortionate (particularly if you’re only returning one small item) and out of principle I refuse to pay it. Given 4 stars as they could have a UK returns depot and reduce the cost for returns! Apart from that great customer service and great products!

Ordered several items from online. Delivered with Royal Mail so no dodgy couriers to worry about, only thing I would like is if the UK and US accounts could be linked to share rewards. Other than that very happy with every transaction I’ve done and product received

It was unbelievable!!!! I bought a cardigan in xxs size on sale for £57, tried and thought maybe I could go for a size up if it is available. I checked online and saw there was it, so I submitted a return request and posted the cardigan back.
Few days later, they sent me an email saying it was out of stock! If other size wasn’t available, I’d be happy to keep mine!!! I emailed the customer service and wanted my item back!! But they didn’t even reply me and just refunded me. And now I saw them having my size available for £70!!!!!!!!! I feel like I was tricked to return my item so that they could sell it for higher price!!!!! What a scam!

I've made an order online and chose to collect at the closest pickup point that they suggested to me.

Apparently, the pickup point rejected and refused to receive my order which is not being returned to Abercrombie.

I called to their Customer Service and they asked me to wait 5 days to take any action from them, as send it back to a new address or cancel and refund my order.

I hope I can have my order before Christmas.
