I sent an item by Registered Post on the 4th of March, and as of 24/03/26 the tracking still only shows: âYour item has been handed to An Post.â There have been no updates whatsoever since then.
Trying to get help has been extremely frustrating. I waited around 90 minutes to get through to customer support, only to be given a link to fill out a missing item formâsomething I could have found myself.
When I asked how long it would take to investigate my missing item being sent to Italy, I was told 30â40 days. I also enquired about claiming insurance, but was simply told to wait for a response from the enquiry team, with no clear timeline or meaningful assistance.
This is especially disappointing as the item was sold on eBay, and Iâve now had to refund the buyer out of my own pocket. Overall, the service has been slow, unhelpful, and lacking in clear communication.
I am sending an item to a company that I am trading in against another item I am buying. A Post have classed my package as a return of an item and as a result it has been stuck in a sorting office for a week as it is not deemed a priority. I contacted customer service to find out when my package might be delivered and they have said they cannot giving me any information as my package is not deemed to be a priority. The company I am buying the replacement item from are waiting for my package to complete the transaction and I cannot give them any information on when they should expect it. Completely unacceptable particularly as I have a tracking number.
I am writing to report an issue with a recent delivery.
I had left clear instructions on my door asking the driver to ring the doorbell once, and if there was no answer, to leave the parcel in a safe place.
However, the driver repeatedly rang the doorbell multiple times instead of following these instructions. This felt excessive and intrusive, and caused significant disturbance. The repeated ringing felt unnecessary and verging on harassment.
This has happened more than once, and it is becoming very frustrating. Ignoring clear delivery instructions in this way is unacceptable and needs to be addressed.

I am trying to log a complaint and it seems almost impossible to do so via the channels An Post provide. By phone they keep you waiting for hours until you give up, via WhatsApp donât answer and via web chat they only accept queries regarding a specific delivery.
I had a very bad experience with a very rude postman this morning while walking my 7-year-old daughter to school. He came right behind us beeping the horn, startling my daughter. To add salt to injury, the road in question, where the school is on, has traffic restrictions at that time, allowing access only for residents, school staff, and emergency vehicles.

Gerade bei wichtigen Dokumenten ist so etwas absolut inakzeptabel. Es fehlt an Transparenz, VerlÀsslichkeit und Nachverfolgbarkeit. Dass gleich zwei Sendungen hintereinander betroffen sind, lÀsst stark an der ZuverlÀssigkeit des Dienstes zweifeln.

Paying over 20 euro on something you've already paid postage on priced at 58euro but bought in dollars. How is that acceptable. Where does the money go and for what? The whole thing feels like one the scams you are constantly told to avoid because they are run by crooks.

Can finally confirm theyâre lying through their teeth. I see the anpost car so I go down in the parking lot. I ask the driver if my parcels are inside, pretends to have a look and says no. I walk away and a minute later I get a notification from Amazon saying delivery attempted.

At present, I am waiting on 5 parcels to be delivered. Upon contacting An Post's customer service agents, I was advised that my parcels are available to pick up in my local sorting office by email. However, when I presented, they could not locate my items. I have spent the rest of the day back and forth via phone and webchat, speaking to a total of 4 separate agents, trying to locate the parcels to absolutely no avail. No agents could tell me where my parcels are, or when they would be delivered. All have been marked as 'sorted for delivery', one for 6 days now. I urgently require these items and it is unacceptable as a postal service to have such a lack of information where my packages are and when I can expect to receive them. Even the complaints option is through the 'contact us form' which has limited space in which to explain anything. I would recommend avoiding An Post for any postal needs in the future.
Update: one parcel was delivered Saturday 21st March. As of Monday 23rd March, I am still onto customer service about the remaining 4 packages, still no one can tell me when they will be delivered.

Very poor delivery service from An Post. Packages are repeatedly left outside my door without knocking or attempting proper delivery. This is completely unacceptable, as it puts my parcels at risk of being stolen or damaged.
A basic part of the service is to knock or ensure someone is home before leaving a package. This has happened multiple times, which shows a lack of care and professionalism.
I expect much better from a national postal service. This issue needs to be addressed urgently.

My package has been stuck at their receiving center for a month now with bi movement, none of their customer support agents know where it is as each one says something completely different. Hardly any communication on the progress, no eta and even the senders aren't getting any info whatsoever. 7 working days without ANY mail being delivered to our town at all. This is just nonsense. Since January they reduced it to Mondays and Tuesday for mail being delivered in bulk. They decided to skip that now since last week. What even is this service becoming at this point? Delays going on to 5 months now. 5 months of horrible service without any improvement but a continuous decline is truly not acceptable.
Last time this happened(about 8-9 months ago)I was told by a replacement driver (after 10 days) that our route had a sick driver. If that is the case, TRULY, then this service is even worse than I anticipated. 1 driver missing ruins the experience for everyone for more than 7 working days? Is your system that fragile?
I've been paying extra for other delivery services lately just to avoid this, but unfortunately I cant for basic parcels and letters, that are shipped domestic. At this point I don't even know what to say.
