Everybody says that moving home is one of life's more stressful activities. They are so right. However, Ross and Mandy steered us through the legal aspects of selling our property. They remained calm whatever the obstacle. They dealt promptly but firmly with last minute questions and the pressure from a chain. At all times they were completely professional and always available. They certainly helped to keep the stress level manageable. Many thanks for a successful conclusion.

Very prompt professional service

Absolutely top notch service from start to finish. Naomi and Hannah were professional, highly approachable and friendly, all emails and queries were answered promptly and nothing was too much trouble. Jen Haynor was our solicitor at Battens in Yeovil. She was superb in laying out all the information for us upfront and working diligently to the tight timescales we needed. There were no hidden costs and everything was well explained including referring us for advice should we need it - we didn't. Although there was an enormous amount of paperwork to get through, having Jen made this simpler and the way she laid everything out made it easy to follow. She made a stressful process far easier.

Buying or selling a home is one of the three most stressful things to do in your life. But if you have Ross Siviter from Battens by your side, with his unfailing good humour, reliability and prompt super-efficiency, the sting really is taken out of it all.

We have now done it twice in the past six years, and each time Ross has held our hands, alerted us to any potential problems, calmed any troubled waters and kept us smiling throughout. He is the safest and nicest pair of hands, combined with all the legal nous you need (taking unusual and complicated transactions in his stride), and we cannot recommend him highly enough.

We hope we never have to move house again, but, if we did, he would be the first person we’d call.

I have recently sold my house and purchased a flat in Leamington Spa. For the legal process involved I engaged Battens Solicitors Ltd in Yeovil and was guided through the whole process by Mr Ross Siviter aided by his Conveyancing assistant Mandy Hutchinson.
From the start, I was listened to and asked what I expected to happen. Then all the legal stages were carefully explained to me and I was told what was expected from me.
At all times, they were both readily available to answer my concerns and I was fully kept informed as to what was happening and asked for my opinion. They were both kind, totally professional and well informed on legal matters explaining each stage to me as necessary making the whole purchase and sale a stress free smooth process from start to finish. Everyone says that buying and selling a house is one of the most stressful things you can go through - and whilst it still is, having Lucy in our corner made it significantly less stressful. From the outset, we were blown away by Lucy’s attention to detail, speed, and genuine care. At no point did we feel out of the loop or unsure of what was going on. Lucy made sure of that. If we ever go through this process again, we wouldn’t look past her.

Horrific experience with Battens Yeovil.
I had the experience of having to go to court with Battens who were at one point my representatives and became 'the other side'.
The sheer arrogance of the representatives of this law firm is staggering!!
Absolute lack of attention to detail verging on laziness.
They made every step of the way difficult and drawn out. In correspondence they were dismissive and rude.
In receiving disclosure it became apparent that they purposefully withheld information and then 'found' it.
I would advise STRONGLY in never having anything to do with Battens particularly in dealing with and inheritance matters. I have looked into how they manage trusts and estates and how they make accounts and non-filing of accounts and it's questionable to say the least.
