I've been subscribed to brick borrow for over a year now and I've found their customer service to be excellent. Helping with missing pieces, pieces I forgot to send back, lost shipping labels.

Amazing choice of sets and customer service responses are always so quick and attentive, highly recommend! My 12yr old loves it! He looks forward his set each week 🫶🏼

Simple way to enjoy Lego without the need to spend huge amounts on sets that once build will sit and gather dust. The variety available changes regularly and you can take your time building and returning. Communication within the company is great and they are always polite and helpful.

I’m returning the Dalmatian dog build. Fifteen missing pieces so far and now on page four of the last book and there’s so many more bits missing I can’t go on. I appreciate one or two bits can be missed when sets are checked but this clearly has not been checked at all. Something that should be relaxing has become very frustrating and exhausting searching for pieces that are not there. Emailing you about it but with so many missing bits and not wasting my time reporting each one. Very disappointing

I honestly can’t recommend Brick Borrow enough. Being housebound due to my health has been incredibly challenging, but their product has made such a huge difference in my day-to-day life. It’s given me a sense of normality and something to genuinely enjoy, which I didn’t expect to find so easily.

What really stands out, though, is their support team — absolutely brilliant. They’re responsive, kind, and genuinely care about helping you get the most out of the experience. It’s rare to come across that level of service these days.

All in all, it’s been an absolute game-changer for me — easily one of the best things I’ve come across in a long time. Couldn’t be happier!

I think this is a brilliant idea however unsure with the current execution. Once finding out about the company I paid for a years gift for my sister, who I must say has really been enjoying completing these monthly. However almost every set has had missing pieces, often integral pieces making the full functionality of the final build void. I do understand that it is inevitable for these things to happen now and then but should not be happening consistently every month. Yes the company offers to send the missing bits but taking that option would then be waiting an additional week with the same set effectively wasting what could’ve been a fresh rental.
As well as this she is never able to rent the sets she wants (hero sets) as these are always out of stock. Again I understand this is inevitable but perhaps the company should not advertise these as much as they do on their site if they have such limited stock available.
All in all this is a great idea but I fully regret spending out for years subscription to what feels like a company who hasn’t quite got it all figured out yet.

I am a 49 year old woman who loves to make Lego but I don’t want it all over my house 😜 I love Brick Borrow I can make it, break it, send it back and then get a new one ! It’s such a brilliant idea 💡

I've been with Brick Borrow for 12 months now and it has been a great experience. I truly feel that I have had great value for money as I love lego but don't have the space to store the sets. Customer Service is exceptional and they always answer quickly. I would highly recommend them if you love lego

Such a great idea and having a fantastic experience so far so much so that I am upgrading my subscription half way through the year. Customer service is fantastic I haven’t had to wait longer than an hour for a response to any email sent and the communication is always friendly and helpful. As for the LEGO sets themselves it’s a fantastic concept if you’re a LEGO lover and either can’t afford endless sets worth hundreds of pounds or simply don’t have the storage space, or both! You can build a variety of sets you might not otherwise buy and the delivery and return delivery instructions are so simple to follow. All in all great value, great service, great concept and couldn’t recommend it highly enough

Such a great idea, brilliant sets and wonderful customer service. You can even suspend your subscription if you're not using the service but you don't want to cancel.

Highly recommend if you love lego and can't afford it/don't have space for it.

I love this concept and the service is always great! I always get a quick response to any contact I make.
The nature of this service sometimes means missing pieces, but they always arrive so quickly once I have reported this.
I would 100% recommend this to any LEGO lover running out of space to store or display! I now get to build any set that maybe I wouldn’t usually consider buying!

Have had some great sets from Brick Borrow, after only a couple of months! Can't wait to build some of their bigger sets soon. Excellent customer service too!

If you want one of the bigger sets then be prepared to wait a *long* time for them, and then when they do come into stock (and you can't have too many back-in-stock notifications...) they're already gone. The website is appallingly slow which adds to the frustration, and every time I have reported this whole issue I am constantly given the 'we're always adding to our stock' spiel, and nothing gets improved.

It's a shame as when I have managed to get hold of the bigger items they have been great, but the amount of months' waiting for them to come into stock mean it is actually cheaper to buy the sets!

If there’s a particular Lego set you’ve been wanting to build but haven’t bought it because you don’t have the storage to keep it, then this subscription is perfect for you!
Choose your set, they post it out to you and you can build away in your own time frame.
You must break the set down at the end before returning it so the next person can enjoy the build. You do pay for the return postage online when you order your new set and that postage label is included in your set when you receive it, so there’s no messing about on return.

There is a 3 month wait for the bigger sets but plenty of choice while you wait. We’ve had 5 sets from them now, it’s always a fun activity! Such a clever idea!

I loved LEGO as a kid and still love it now, so discovering Brick Borrow has been brilliant. It’s such a great service for LEGO fans because it gives you the chance to enjoy building amazing sets without having to pay the huge price tags or worry about storage afterwards.

The whole concept is fantastic—build, enjoy, and then swap for something new. It keeps the hobby fresh, fun, and affordable, which is perfect if you just love the building experience.

Customer service was also 10/10—really speedy replies, very understanding, and genuinely helpful whenever I had questions. It made the whole experience even better. (Which lines up with what a lot of other reviewers say about their quick and helpful support too .)

Overall, it’s an enjoyable and convenient way to keep that childhood passion alive without breaking the bank. Definitely recommend for any LEGO lover!

If you're an adult and wanting to borrow the bigger sets I would say don't waste your money as they're never available. On the very rare occasion one does pop up it is gone within seconds. And I mean literally in a second or two.
I've complained to Brick Borrow twice and each time they have the same standard response (as they do here) which is that they hold thousands of sets in stock. Yes, the cheaper, smaller sets are always available but I suspect they've only invested in one of each of the larger, more expensive sets. A very frustrating and disappointing experience.

I’ve just cancelled my subscription and feel really disappointed with the overall experience. On the £14.99 monthly plan, you have to wait three months before you’re even eligible to borrow the larger sets, which already feels quite limiting.

Once you do reach that point, the bigger sets are almost always unavailable. You’re required to set up email alerts to be notified when they come back in stock, but even then, unless you respond immediately, you miss out and have to start the whole process again.

Unfortunately, this system just isn’t practical for those of us who work and can’t constantly monitor emails or jump online at a moment’s notice. I’ve effectively spent three months paying for a service I couldn’t properly use, which is very frustrating.

Overall, the idea is great, but the availability and access make it difficult to actually benefit from the subscription.

"You choose the sets"
Great marketing, however you can't choose many of the sets until you've been a member for 3 months. And this is not disclosed at the outset. Even if you read the small print and realised you pay both subscription and £5 postage per set, the lack of clarity on the choice of sets should certainly be clearer. I won't continue my subscription, I won't be borrowing sets and I won't be recommending.

Brick Borrow know this is an issue and I'm sure will refer to the apprentice notes in the FAQ. But however you present this, the subscription page makes no reference to this and the feedback on this site shows it to be important. The only conclusion is that Brick Borrow is limiting transparency of an issue important to subscribers in a way that many feel is important. Key question is whether they actively do anything about it or continue to exploit the situation.

Edit following response: Brick Borrow know that the subscription page has no details of postage and that it's hidden in FAQ, but decide not to do anything about it. Brick Borrow also know that the minimum tenure for the better sets is also not clear on the subscription page and focus on "you choose the sets" despite unhappy subscribers, but still continue without making it clear. If these elements of the service are so integral and disliked by so many people, you can decide whether Brick Borrow is attempting to mislead or not. In short, they could make these elements clear and avoid misleading people, but despite such wide feedback, they choose not to. That says a lot about Brick Borrow.
