Worst customer experience ever
I have never experienced a worse customer expirience than at broadcom. The cost and hassle of creating an account that can't be done without support is astronomical. Flimsy arguments with being forced to use a personalized email address to get user data. If you manage many site IDs you have trouble with Broadcom every day. Broadcom has hit rock bottom and is falling even lower. Pity to all who have to work with it.

Terrible, terrible customer support, Broadcom refused to troubleshoot VMware and gave us contacts of private contractors "VMware partners". We had a meeting with out account manager and our IT management to communicate this wonderful news to our business. I had another call where someone was standing over my support person saying just hang up few times. Not to even recommend next step, just to hang up. I found this so childish. I never thought I would ever said this because I always loved working with VMware but I'm talking to the business to move away from VMware. Just a bad experience.
broadcom customer portal sucks…
I have been using Broadcom fiber channel switches for storage connections for over 30 years, with speeds of 2, 4, 8, and 16 Gbps. 5 years ago, I upgraded my data centers to 32 Gbps, and this year, I have purchased 64 Gbps switches in the hope of putting them into production and gaining some speed improvements.
I have now had these new switches for more than 2 months, and I have still not figured out Broadcom's portal. It is a nightmare to log into—it simply does not work (most of the time there is a message on the landing page, claming site is down for the next week or so). MFA tokens are sent to you 10 minutes after you try to log in, and for this reason, they are invalid.
if/Once you succeed in logging in, it is not possible (for me at least) to find where to issue the necessary licenses for the SFPs I have. Nor can I find my switches or where to register them—it should be a simple task to buy new equipment and register it (I have paid extra for 5 years of support upfront).
Until now, I just have some Broadcom switches that can be used for nothing—they have cost me $200,000.
Reaching out to support does not help, as I get an automated standard email message, claiming I just need to log in to the portal.???? ... case closed.
This is the last time I will ever buy Broadcom switches. (VMware licensing was also a nightmare when they moved, but at least it was working once after waiting several weeks for them to fix it).
Come on, Broadcom, you can do better, your product is still allright, but if you are not fixing the portal we can not use your product and you may close your business.

If you want to download VMware player (free) it sends you to a login page, There you need to register. But after you register you'll find out that you still are not allowed to download. And then you'll also find out that you cannot just remove your account, becayse that has to be done through cust. support.
So my advice is not just to stay far away from VMWARE, but from all broadcom crap, since there there is close to none cust supportt
The buyout of VMware is a disaster
The buyout of VMware is a disaster. Broadcom is a mess. They have made VMware dangerous to use and I hear expensive. Getting to support is impossible and confusing. My only option is to move to Parallels and drop VMware.

I GOT SCAMMED !!!!! Horrible services and it very hard to find the download bouton at their website i lost 12h of trying. Now im calling fraud to my bank due they robbed me.

Broadcom killed VMware
When you buy an amazing software (VMware) and make it near impossible to download... Your company sucks. I genuinely have never seen a more incompetently made website. Don't use VMware. Use any of the other free software that are easier to get. Virtualbox is a good one and they actually provide a simple to access download page.

Their website is non responsive. They DESTROYED a company with a good longtime reputation such as VMWare and now it’s impossible to get support on their products or even software updates. Really bad!

Hierzu wird man dann aufgefordert weitere Einzahlungen vorzunehmen, um diese "Aufgaben" abzuschließen... Ein nur zu gut bekanntes Abzock- und Betrugssystem. Wer an seine Gewinne gelangen möchte, muß weiter investieren. Damit spült man diesen Betrügern immer mehr Kapital in ihre eigenen Taschen und die Einzahlungen sind ein- für allemal verloren. Also: Finger weg von diesem Scam!

They do not honor licenses
I have a VMWare Workstation Pro license I purchased before Broadcom merged the VMWare portal into their own. They messed up the transition, and I don't have my license on my account anymore.
Contacted the customer support over their chat, and they only wanted to sell me commercial support instead of sorting out the mess they've made, saying that having a license does not entitle me to download the product I paid for.
It's easier to exit VIM
It's easier to exit VIM than downloading/activating a VMware product.
