We have had two experiences with the National Cat Centre branch of Cats Protection, both of which have been brilliant.

We recently lost our elderly cat who we adored and thought we should consider getting another from the same centre. We applied for a cat online who had already been rehomed, but we were contacted by Joe - who matched us with a cat that wasn't on the website yet and we collect her in a couple of days.

Our visit with Joe was great! He is an absolute asset to an already amazing team. The service was incredible and the experience was great for both humans and cats.

We will continue to support the charity and hope that others do the same.

Please be minded that most people who go on Trust Pilot do so to have a moan, and those who have had a misalignment of expectations are in the minority.

I AM HEART BROKEN, I WAS TOLD I HAD A HEALTH ISSUE I DIDNT UNDERSTAND ANDAS A RESULT I THOUGHT BEFORE I DIE I BETTER GET MY CATS CARED FOR, IT BROKE ME, I HAD ONLY LOST THEM TWO DAYS BEFORE I HAD TOLD THEM I MADE A MASIVE MISTAKE AND TRIED TO GET THEM BACK, THEY TURNED INTO A NON EXISTANT WELFARE ISSUE, WHICH I CAN SEE THEY DO A LOT TOO PEOPLE,. THEY TRIED TO SAY I NEED SPPORT AND I GOT SUPPORT BUT THEY KEPT MOVING THE GOAL POST. I ENEDED UP IN HOSPITAL HAVIGN A BREAKDOWN AS I WAS TOTALLY BROKEN. I HAVE NO FAMILY OR FRIEND AND MY BOYS TED AND TIGER WHERE ALL I HAD IN MY LIFE. THEY LITTERALY STOLE THEM BY MAKING UP FALSE STORIES TO KEEP THEM FOR A PROFIT MARGIN, IT WAS A MONTH AGO AND I AM LOST. I DONT EVEN WANT TO BE HERE ANY MORE, THEY KNEW WHAT IT DID TO ME AND I ENDED UP IN HOSPITAL AND THEY DID NOT CARE ONE BIT. MY BOYS ARE AND WHERE LOVED SO MUCH IT IS SILLY. I WANT THEM BACK THEY JUST SHUT ME OUT LIKE MY LIFE DIDNT MATTER, THEY WHERE EMOTION SUPPORT ANIMAL. MY BOYS ARE 5 AND I WANT THEM HOME BUT THESE HEARTLESS PEOPLE HAVE KEPT THEM.

I had loads of professionsl willING to step in and write letters of support but they just want money, my boys are their proffit and i dont want to BE HERE any more

I cannot praise the staff at Stoke and Newcastle branch highly enough, I filled in the form and didn't expect such a swift response as I'm aware the staff are volunteers, but we received a txt the following morning and follow up friendly and helpful phone calls from Abby and Helen, we went to see our Spud and Abby and her mum were so patient and there was no pressure at all, our lovely Spud is now in a home where he's loved and spoiled, thank you to all those who looked after him, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish, I'm 100% happy

It saddens me to read the bad reviews of CPL as my experience was excellent. I got our wonderful cat Hugo from the Bury st Edmunds and Stowmarket branch. Margaret was very honest about Hugo (previously called Ash) so I knew he would need time and patience to settle in. Margaret was so supportive, we weren’t in her area but she came out to visit to ensure we were suitable and again to bring him to us. She was honest about his personality and kept in touch. We now meet up regularly and I let her know how he’s getting on with pictures and videos. With time, patience, giving him space and love, he is losing his feisty side and is an adorable cuddle bug.

I rang the Basingstoke branch at the beginning of my of this week to seek advice on getting my missing cat back home. We know roughly where he is and just wanted to speak to someone who would know the best thing to do. The lady I spoke to told me I’d need to speak to an experience volunteer and she’d get someone to call me back. No one has called me. I’m incredibly disappointed as I thought the CPL would go out of their way to help but clearly I was wrong.
I have adopted from the CPL before and have also volunteered at their HQ but this experience has put me off from ever contacting them again.

You have illegally stolen two of my cats from the Southampton area.

The matter is scheduled to be reported today to Hampshire Constabulary.

You caused and continue to cause my beautiful cats both physical and emotional harm.

You are a disgrace.

I cannot praise cats protection enough. From the moment we called and asked about adopting a cat, staff were on hand to ask and answer all the questions you’d expect if you wanted a cat.
We love our new family member and pleased we bought extra food for the center before we left x x x

I’ve nothing but the highest praise for Cats Protection in York. I recently adopted my cat from them and they couldn’t have been more helpful at every part of the process. The website too is a source of valuable information about all aspects of caring for your cat. .

We have been looking for a companion to our resident cat after losing her brother last year. Cats Protection have been very helpful, both during the adoption process and during integration of our new cat into our household.

Throughout the process, I have been impressed with how the welfare of the animals in their care is most important to them. Yes sometimes it takes a bit of time to get a reply, but people have to remember that they are dealing with volunteers who are giving up free time to look after a lot of abandoned animals so things understandably can slip through the cracks.

Have emailed and called several times but none ever answers the phone and no one has ever returned an email.

I adopted a 4 year old cat, less than 3 months ago, said to be healthy but actually has long-term health issues that I can’t afford. I’ve only found this out now I have the cat and love her to bits and can’t afford the vet bills which are thousands. No response to my email or voice mails. I don’t know what to do. Feel very mislead and upset. Not the best outcome for the beautiful cat, because she needs someone who can afford extensive ongoing vet bills

I have written reviews before for cats protection but wanted to do so again. Shout out to Linda carly and teresa from the Three rivers & Watford branch of cats protection. They have been so amazing in helping me rehome my 14 cats ( dont worry people not rehoming all just most of them ) to help give my cats a better quality of life and going to good safe homes. Very easy to communicate with them and I must say the team I am dealing with not only professional but very empathetic and helpful. Really cant say enough good things about the cats protection members.

We really wanted to rescue and heard so many good things about cats protection, and after adopting a cat from them (Benny) we can see what everyone was talking about friendly staff, very professional , organised , was very nice to see the cats without groups of people there , it’s good to have the appointment system , makes it a less stressful experience for the cats and the people viewing them.

Joe helped us find Benny , he is an asset to Cats protection , he made us feel very relaxed , answered all our questions and made sure we got the right cat.

Overall a really good experience that has made us very happy and Benny too.

They can't help with costs re neutering on a feral site, was advised to contact other rescues in the area! I thought they were here to help cats but they just pass the buck, meanwhile cats are multiplying.

Have dealt with CP on few occasions.
They do fantastic job and care for every cat in their care.
I have had 3 cats from them. They have always been there when I have had couple of strays wandering around. Taken them in and found homes.
All so caring.

Our cat bongo has been taken without our permission disgusting women and service do not trust them we will take this further how dare you this was in Southampton

I can’t thank Yvonne, a Community Engagement Assistant from the L11 Community Engagement team at Cats Protection, enough for the incredible support she provided during such a critical time.

After taking in a stray cat, Chase, we reached out to Cats Protection for help with neutering. To our amazement, Yvonne called within an hour and arrived at our home soon after. Not only did she ensure Chase received everything he needed, but she also saved my dog’s life.

Maisie was gravely ill, and after our vet told us she wouldn’t survive the operation she desperately needed, we had lost hope. Thanks to Yvonne’s quick thinking and recommendation, we had a vet who could treat her. Without her advice, Maisie might not be here with us today.

Yvonne’s kindness, expertise, and genuine care went above and beyond. We will never be able to thank her enough for what she did. She is an absolute lifesaver, and we are forever grateful for her compassion and dedication.

We registered with this centre to adopt kittens after our cat of 17 year went over his rainbow bridge. My sons this time each wanted a kitten of their own.
I was rung back within a couple of days to run through the adoption form by Joe who gave the next steps and said they would be in contact as and when something suitable came up. Luckily for us a pair of kittens came up quickly and we went to meet them. the staff were very welcoming and allowed the boys enough time with the kittens (although they would have liked more). We decided to go ahead and adopt and were given information to take away so we could get prepared. The adoption forms themselves threw up some queries as the information didnt mirror what i had been told when we met the kittens the first time. However, I was able to get this clarified with Sally when we picked up the kittens, who are now settling in well to their new home. I've been able to get advice since we got them home as well which has been helpful.

I recently called the main phone line of Cats Protection for some advice on rehoming or integrating a street cat. The lady I spoke to was incredibly helpful, patient with me as we went through both options in detail, and gave me lots of wonderful and practical advice throughout the conversation.

I have volunteered for Chelwood gate and rehomed my beautiful Daphne,some years ago but no longer with us
I had a wonderful experience when I adopted her, the staff were amazing.
I have previously left glowing reviews.
I filled in adoption form today, had a phone call from, Paul, hope I got the
name right, it felt like an interrogation
I am disappointed, I am trying to rehome kittens, when time is right but as I have a 21 years young adult cat family member, who is very active and does not show or act his age, was told this would normally not be allowed because of his age.
I have consulted at length with my vet over this and she is fully supportive that a pair of kittens would be ideal, Ozzy can interact with them and when he has had enough they have each other.
But was told they would considerit it but' you will be put in a folder'
on a waiting list, lots of people want kittens.
I have been a dog warden and fostered many rescued cats and dogs with issues,as I explained and although I have an elderly cat he is in an really good condition, very agile and mobile, plays most of the day.
Really disappointed by Cat Protection's attitude, my vet is happy to act as a reference for me but, sadly I will be buying from a private buyer after that
experience, I have always rehomed and never brought from private buyers because of the all horror stories I have heard but I will have to take my chances.
