I had booked my Mercedes 280SL R129 Series in at Cayman Autos having come across them on the Internet. I had. An appointment at 9.30am. However I started my journey over 2 hours before although I only had 54 miles to travel (Good job they don’t charge for parking on the M25.
Arrived at arranged time, and was met by a most courteous staff member, who I explained to him how the roof was not working, including Roll Over Bar malfunction
Offered coffee, and informed after inspection work would require a couple of hours. Walked into shopping centre had another coffee and returned to find work completed,along with a complete Service on roof mechanism.
Shown complete roof operation, by again courteous and friendly staff. The whole Service from start to finish was fantastic, and at a very reasonable cost.
Having been in business myself for over 70 years. I found the Service I got at Cayman Autos was as rare as “Chickens Teeth”. Very difficult to find these days

The way that Cayman Auto Services treat their customers is excellent!
The problem with my Boxster's roof was diagnosed more quickly than I expected. Unfortunately the necessary parts were not in stock, so a one-day fix was not possible.
Apart from actually having to pay the bill, the whole experience was very pleasant!
Leah kept me informed of progress pro-actively (even when it was disappointing) and Paul's suggestion of going to the Fat Boys Cafe for brunch worked out very well.
When I wanted to postpone the work due to Storm Agnes there was no quibbling or even a hint of disappointment that Cayman would have to change their work plans at short notice.
When the repair was complete Paul handed the car back to me, demonstrated the proper functioning of the roof and answered all my questions professionally.
I shall recommend Cayman Auto Services to my convertible-owning friends.

Fantastic service from the first point of contact - emailed photos of the rear glass which had unbonded from the fabric roof, during the heatwave in the Summer. Drove 104 miles to drop the car to the garage & returned 2 days later to collect. Communication throughout was first class. Friendly staff & the roof is as good as new. Cayman Autos did a fantastic rebond on the rear glass of my RS4 cabriolet.Diagnosed the repair and exact cost from emailed photos ,very good communication and very accommodating with schedules etc.Would highly recommend as the only option was a new roof from Audi.

Just had all the rams replaced in Mercedes SL320, a small hiccup in the installation, but they went above and beyond to make things right.
Could not thank them enough.

My 26 year old Bentley Azure’s hood refused to latch at the rear. As soon as I called Cayman Autos I knew they were the right people for the job. They did a full check and sent a pro-forma invoice detailing exactly what needed to be done, which involved replacing a leaking ram and repairs to the locking mechanism. They also carried out a service at my request.
The completed work and final invoice were exactly as they predicted. The hood action is transformed! Far quieter and smoother, the best it’s been since I bought the car 17 years ago.
A truly brilliant company, with knowledgable and efficient people, excellent work!

My Porsche 993 had an ageing cabriolet top which would not open or close properly. I contacted Cayman and made an appointment, left the car with them and it was done in a couple of days. I was given an accurate proforma estimate and updated on progress and the cost was much less than a Porsche main dealer would have charged. Cannot recommend highly enough.

This company is seriously impressive from the moment you ring them, when you arrive and the speed and professionalism of the repair necessary. I personally cannot believe how quickly they diagnosed the problem with my roof. I would honestly say that if you are unfortunate enough to have a roof problem, forget your normal repair garage and take it to Cayman’s, you will not be disappointed.

I cannot recommend Cayman Auto Services enough. Having visited my local Vauxhall dealer and being told that I should scrap my beloved Vauxhall Tigra, I was at a loss at what to do. Whilst I could cope with not being able to open the roof, what I could not deal with was the inability to open the boot. I had asked a few people to look at it for me but to no avail with people suggesting new pumps and motors but this was merely guess work - then I found Cayman - the experts!

From my first dealings with the company by email I was immediately impressed. Millie took the time to explain to me fully what would be involved in the diagnostics and also took the time and trouble to suggest things I could do during the day in the local town centre Redhill whilst waiting for the repair. I was immediately put at ease and it was clear I was in the hands of professionals. It was a long drive from Cardiff but I set out early and was greeted that morning by Leah. Once again Leah was so welcoming and helpful and took the time to explain what would happen throughout the day taking the time to listen to my concerns and explanations on the problems I had been encountering with the vehicle.

Throughout the day I was kept fully up to date by both Leah and Millie on costs and what needed to be done prior to any work being undertaken. Through my own choice I decided to opt for additional work to include treating the seals etc resulting in me leaving the Tigra at Cayman for another day and travelling home by train. I was sent a detailed invoice before doing so and both Leah and Millie took the time to explain how the work I had authorised would resolve different issues.

I collected my car on the Saturday morning to avoid taking a further day off work and on arrival at Cayman I met with Millie who once again went over and above in making me feel welcome, offering tea/coffee and a friendly chat. It was clear throughout all my dealings with the company that customer service and professionalism is first and foremost in everything they do. I would also like to give a special mention to Adam, the man behind the magic that actually fixed my car and made me feel like I was driving a new vehicle again. Once again he took the time to answer my questions and explain everything in a clear and professional manner. The price I paid was also very reasonable considering all the different work I had done.

I have now had the car back just over a month and I am thrilled to say I have not had a single issue. We recently experienced some very hot weather in the UK and my Tigra was used more then ever! It was a real pleasure to drive around with the roof down and only emphasised why I love the car so much!

I would like to thank everyone at Cayman for fixing my pride and joy. It may only be a Tigra to everyone else, but to me I could not bear to part with it and it has now been given a new lease of life. My advice to anyone is do not hesitate to contact Cayman if you having any problems with your convertible whatever model it may be - I guarantee that you will be treated with courtesy and professionalism from start to finish with the work undertaken by experts - a rare find in a company in this day and age. I will most certainly be returning next year, despite the distance, for my annual roof service and I look forward to seeing Millie and Leah again - thank you so much!

The company made an excellent job of repairing the soft top on my A5. First class service, excellent communication and timely completion. A very good company to deal with.

Cayman answer their telephones. All the Staff are very friendly on the phone. Email follow ups are very efficient. I pitched up for Team Cayman to diagnose what was required. I was greeted by Paul who was first rate and indicated how long the diagnosis process would take. A phone call some 90 mins later advised me that they had identified the problem and mechanics were available to carry out the work rather than having to book the car in again. I naturally agreed and Team Cayman sorted everything 45 mins earlier than expected.
They made a great job of sorting out the problem with my Audi roof. A comprehensive invoice and all sorted very professionally.

The team are friendly and efficient, fair prices and transparent billing - the level of care was outstanding and they ‘get it’ - would recommend and will return for the reproof that is next on the list - very happy

I took my MGTF for an annual hood service. I was met in reception by a charming young lady who explained the process with me. On my return the car was ready and was driven out by one of the team and he showed genuine interest in the car. A really first class company with excellent, professional customer service.

Booked in with Cayman for their 2 hour diagnostic service, which I was told would be under £90. Dropped the car, hours later I haven’t heard anything so contact them, was told that it was taking longer than expected, but don’t worry there won’t be an extract change. Eventually got the car back about 8 hours later and despite being told it wouldn’t cost me any more, they charged me about £190, with a quote of £4200 to fix the roof! They stated all 3 motors needed changing, a cable and the gas struts. They said the main motor was turning very slowly that’s why this need replacing. I had had all 3 motors changed within the last few years so didn’t believe them and they hadn’t quoted for the main release mechanism which I knew to be faulty.

Despite assuming London prices would be more, I took it to a specialist in London for a second opinion. The told me all the motors were fine, it was the main pump that was faulty and causing the slow movement, so this was changed along with all fluids. They also changed 2 of secondary motors plastic gears for metal to future proof them. They changed the main release mechanism and found that the reason the roof wasn’t working at all was a break in the wiring loom. The find the break in the wiring loom took them 8 hours, with the associated London labour charges and change the cable and gases struts (at least Cayman git that bit right). While they had the car, the also changed the tank fuel pump, to do this you have to remove the interior, they gave the car a full service and carbon cleaned the engine. They also changed a few brackets that they found to be broken all for £3400.

I have no idea how Cayman got the diagnosis so wrong or more importantly where they get their prices from. I got so much more work done to the car, at a specialist in London and yet it still cost me £800 less than Cayman quoted me! You have been warned.

From the first phone call the staff give you confidence that they know what their doing The girls in the office are well informed and able to answer any queries in a cheerful and professional manner.
Upon arrival we were met by Paul who is without doubt a real asset with his knowledgeable manner and friendly approach. I didn't meet the mechanics but I'm sure given the company ethos they were equally capable.
The workshop looked clean and secure so from what we experienced use them with confidence.

Take your car here at your own risk. They will not take any reposibility if they cause damage to your car. I took my convertible for a service only for them to damage the roof. We have never had any issues with the roof from purchase. We were given the car back from them with the roof down only for when we put it back up at home a clip that holds the headlining in place was detached causing the headlining to rip. This has never happened before. They denied this was anything to do with what they did but I think its a bit of a massive coincedence. Considering ive never had this issue and the day its back from the service my roof is broken. Also i speficaty asked for the sunroof to be greeced prior to the service and when i got it back the inside was dry as a bone.

We called up the next working day and were told to bring the car back, bearing in mind have to drive about a hour. We left the car with them for 2 hours with no explination of what was actually being done only for them to put a bit of tape over the rip. I dont understand why this took 2 hours. They stated the area where the clip was they don't touch and tired to blame it on the cords being loose, The cords were exactly the same as when we brought the car to them so just felt this was a excuse to cover up what happned. Also im pretty sure they do work on this area as apart of the service as stated on the invoice is 'greasing up pivot points and mechanism' . The clip was near the only pivot points. We wernt happy with the tape so they glued it not making us aware they dont specilise in this type of work so was just bodged. We had to wait another hour for this. I sent a email to the manager asking for a refund for the experience and damage but just kept denying any reposibility aswell as a refund. I even asked just for just half back but this was declined also.

For the sake of £85 you thought they would have refunded but refused so unfortunatly have had to share my exeperience.

Unbelievable company. The whole customer journey was excellent. During the first call the process was explained. The booking process was very simple. The diagnostics process was completed and a detailed explanation of what has happened and how it would be fixed was provided. I was able to wait whilst the roof was being repaired and was called every two hours to provide an update. Extremely friendly, knowledgeable, professional and enthusiastic team. I would have no hesitation recommending Cayman.

Just excellent service and does what it says on the tin. Very happy!
