The cottage was stunning, as soon as we walked through the door it felt homely and cozy. Everything you could possible want or need was available. We had the best time staying for the weekend, wish we could have stayed longer.
We will definitely look into booking again, you certainly got value for your money.

We stayed at Herdmans hut for 7 nights for our honeymoon and we cannot explain how perfect it was. The hut itself is great and had everything that we needed. It was spacious and very comfortable and really well laid out. The view was absolutely beautiful, we were surrounded by wildlife and at night we could sit in the hot tub and listen to the owls and watch bats fly around. The hosts were fantastic and always there if we needed anything. We have never felt so relaxed and would highly recommend this idyllic and beautiful hut.

We stayed at Rocking Stone Cottage for a few days and it was just perfect. Fab location - tucked away just enough - and a couple of lovely pubs within walking distance.
Perfect hosts and the cosiest of cottages! Not to mention the honesty-bar with gin and tonics and the home made brownies….
We really hope to be back. Perfect place for a stay in Derbyshire.

Well, what can we say that could possibly do this place justice.... We stayed here for 2 weeks. Upon arriving, we were absolutely flabbergasted at just how beautiful the location was. Truly the most incredible surroundings for the most wonderful ultimate zone out from normality. Exceeded any expectations we had from seeing the photographs. So with two energetic children, and 2 crazy dogs, we had so much gorgeous enclosed land for them to exert all their energies. Walks across the farmland, we made the most of too. For myself and my husband, the hot tub, bbq, scenery and regular sightings of birds of prey whilst sunbathing was a real treat. We had a terrific heatwave whilst there, but thankfully the cottage kept us all lovely and cool with its stone built walls. Facilities inside the cottage were excellent! The cottage was clean and tidy. The layout was perfect for our family with so much space, we had room for more guests. Although we didn't particularly require the log burner, it was nice to light it in the evenings just to set the ambience. Communication with the owner was super at all times. We all thoroughly enjoyed what was a much needed break, and we felt well rested (and gutted) when we left. We wouldn't hesitate in booking this place again, I am sure a winter break here would be equally as enjoyable. So much to do within half an hour of the doorstep in different directions. We absolutely loved Llandgrannog ! Definitely our favourite place, the coastal walk just breathtaking, picnics on the cliff top we shall miss. The beach coves here are fabulous ! Pentre Arms, a must go ! The Forest Arms at Brechfa, a definite top notch place for food. We devoured their delicious food after a 12 mile walk/bike ride in the forest. (Again Brechfa Forest, stunning) Aberporth beach for crabbing makes for a delightful day with the children ! Also for cyclists, the millennium trail is a great cycle path for all abilities.

The Corner House was every bit as spectacular in real life as the photos. I cannot fault it. The kitchen had all the utensils you needed and was well stocked with the basics. Stove only, no oven but we made good use of the bbq instead. The hot tub stays hot forever, I would put it on early to use later as it holds the heat too. Absolutely couldn’t fault it, even the outdoor loo and the bamboo loo roll were great and the views were spectacular. Great little house for some real down time, we will be back, thank you!

There are not enough ways to say how wonderfully majestic and stunning Kelker Well Roundhouse is. If you are a lover of the outdoors, don’t mind a walk across a field or two and want peace and tranquility then this is the place. Everything you need is here, for an off grid stay the host has thought of everything. Even the view from the loo has been thought of. A truly wonderful stay awaits you no matter the season or the weather.

Accomodation was incredible. Beautiful, tranquil and allowed us to get back into nature. Featheroo is highly recommended!

Booked a property that was completely misleading, was told it was remote and only a couple of properties, turns out to be in the middle of a wedding venue hosting daily weddings. Cool stays said not our problem, we don’t visit properties and take what we are told on faith. READ THE SMALL PRINT, they remove themselves from any responsibility for anything that goes wrong. Said take it up with the owner, I booked it based on their information they had given. Then they changed the information as I was on the phone to them telling them there was a problem. Before you complain make sure you screen shot the original information as they will amend it. Both companies have been reported to trading standards.

After a long journey, The Bullpen at Benallack Barm provided the perfect welcome. A well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable, cosy area to relax, a welcoming, sumptuous super king bed and a beautiful bathroom with an excellent rain shower.
All our communications with Vicky were responded to thoughtfully and quickly.
An excellent short stay, we'd highly recommend.

Our group of five families had the most incredible stay at Pentrehobyn Hall. This historic house, built in 1540, is unlike anything we’ve ever experienced before. The building is full of history and character, with every corner decorated by stunning antiques — from vases and plates to paintings and furniture — many of which are centuries old. It truly feels like stepping back in time, surrounded by pieces you would never see anywhere else. Every room is not only filled with charm but also spacious and comfortable, giving us both luxury and warmth. Staying here felt far beyond a regular holiday — it was memorable, unique, and truly once in a lifetime. A special mention to Tina, the housekeeper, who was absolutely wonderful. She was so nice, polite, and welcoming. She gave us a tour of the house, explained everything clearly, and was always responsive when we needed help — yet at the same time gave us plenty of freedom to enjoy our stay in privacy. Pentrehobyn Hall is superior in every way, offering an exceptional experience that no hotel or other place could ever compare to. An absolute must-stay if you ever have the chance.

Clear process and the information you get about where you are going to stay is very well organised.

A wonderful little bolt hole, with fabulous views of Ullswater. We had everything we needed, and it was all neat, clean & tidy. We would definitely go back there again!

Great house in a wonderful location. Short stroll to lovely sandy beach with a good cafe en route. Outdoor warm showers are a great touch and Emma was really helpful. Will certainly be booking again!

What an amazing place! It was so quiet and a fantastic place to unwind and totally relax. The views were incredible and we loved the occasional visits from the wild horses and sheep. Our dog had the best time too!

We spent 7 nights at The Milkshed with our two kids and absolutely loved it. The house was spotless when we arrived, and the open-plan living area with the kitchen felt incredibly spacious. The kitchen was very well equipped—we had everything we needed for cooking. Both bedrooms were lovely, and the freestanding bathtub in the master bedroom was a great touch. The bathroom was also beautiful and spacious. Even though the property was located on a large estate, we had complete privacy throughout our stay. The garden, featuring a hot tub (which was checked daily) and a large hammock, was perfect for relaxing—we especially enjoyed unwinding in the hot tub during the evenings. The estate itself was expansive, and we took full advantage of the little walks through the wooded areas. There was also a grassed pitch where we could play ball games like football, volleyball, and even tennis. Katie and her husband were kind, helpful, and very responsive whenever we needed anything. All in all, the place was amazing, and we’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in a rural setting while exploring all that Devon has to offer.

What a beautiful house in an amazing location. We were a group of 7, age range from 16-52 and all of us had a wonderful holiday. The house was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for, plenty of space for everyone to be together or chill separately. A stone’s throw from the beach with a convenient cafe in between for coffees, cakes and ice creams. The beach is very safe for kids and lots of space for everybody so it never felt crowded. There are days out within easy reach, or plenty to do if you choose to stay put. The house is so beautifully decorated and lots of lovely little touches that just make life a bit easier and feel a bit more luxurious. The outdoor heated showers on returning from the beach were a hit with everyone, including the dog and the balcony with the most amazing view was my personal favourite. This is truly a place to properly switch off and relax, and just enjoy the wonderful surroundings.

Jenny Wren Shepherd’s Hut is everything you’d want from a peaceful and secluded getaway for two. Despite being a short drive from major conurbations, it is located on a lovely spot overlooking woodland and rolling hillsides.
It was usual to need to ‘request to book’, however the owners were very responsive and our last minute getaway was booked very efficiently.
The owners have thought of everything visitors might need, from the welcome hamper filled with breakfast essentials and a few treats (the marmalade and shortbread were amazing!) all presented in Kilner jars inside a wicker hamper, to the fact the ice cube tray was full and ready to use.
The hut itself is very well equipped and tasteful furnished - everything shouts quality. From the extremely comfortable bed with hotel standard cotton linen to the Krups coffee machine (with an initial supply of pods). The owners have thought of everything, you really just need to turn up! They provide towels and bath robes (only gripe is that these are not aimed at more generous sized guests), L’Occitane toiletries and a supply of logs (for the log burner and bbq/ fire pit). The outside area is a lovely space with table and chairs for outside dining and comfy chairs for relaxing and enjoying the view. Then there is the outside tub too which was a very welcome addition.
Things to note: steep steps into the hut (a handle on the frame would be useful). It’s quite a climb into the bed, especially for me at 5’6” but even for my 6’2” husband.
We have stayed in many holiday cottages/ homes over the years but few have been of the standard of this shepherd’s hut.

Wanted to book a last minute break. Found accommodation but couldn’t book instantly. Instead, had to message to request a booking. No response from coolstays despite requesting in the morning. Finally got a response the next day to say that the accommodation was no longer available. Very poor service. If you can’t book instantly, then you’d expect someone could deal with it in a timely manner, during normal working hours.

The castle and surrounding grounds was a thing of dreams, loved by every member of my family. We could have easily spent all our time there without needing to do anything outside. A few things that could have been better but did not take away from our experience, some of the mattresses on the beds were too soft, not made to sleep on. Some of the windows did not stay open, which isn’t ideal in hot weather as the castle was surprisingly warm. The induction hob was hard to navigate as the markings have all rubbed off so complete guessing game. We managed to overlook these issues and still have a wonderful time. Caretaker was on call to assist with any problems which was a bonus. Overall, would highly recommend. Would love to visit again.
