Currys - Cheltenham レビュー 

What we thought would be a quick pop-in to buy an iPad turned into a 40-minute drawn-out process.

We had already done our research online, so we went into the store knowing exactly what we wanted. We located the iPads at the front of the store, then spent around 10 minutes looking around for someone to help us. When we finally managed to get someone’s attention, they went to find someone else to assist us.

The gentleman who eventually served us didn’t really seem to know what he was doing. When we asked about the price promise, his answer kept changing — one minute it was yes, the next it was no. He then went to get the original person who had sent him over, who immediately confirmed that the price promise did apply.

We were then taken to the desk, where pretty much every possible upsell was attempted, from insurance to screen protectors. We politely declined each time, but the gentleman continued to push the extras.

It’s no wonder people choose to buy online when a straightforward purchase can become such a lengthy and pressured experience.

I work in retail myself, so I actually like supporting physical stores where possible. However, I was genuinely surprised that what should have been a simple, quick purchase turned into such a drawn-out process, with so much pressure to buy additional products and services.

I was worried when my Microsoft license had run out but Rob in PC World on Tewkesbury Rd was able to sort it very quickly. He has also put me on repeat license so it will automatically renew in 12 months time

Online ordering was easy but collection from the store took ages. We waited at the collection counter for some time whilst 5 staff members were very busy chatting. When we were eventually served, there were no common courtesys.

No fuss, it was a quick purchase, thanks to the staff who assissted me, sorry I forgot his name.

I recently bought a new phone from Currys PC World in Cheltenham. I was in a hurry and knew exactly what I wanted, so I expected the process to be quick and straightforward.
I was directed to a member of staff who checked that the phone was in stock and went to collect it for me. He then returned and we proceeded to the checkout. At this point, I provided him with a significant amount of personal information, including my full name, email address, phone number, home address and my Creation Finance account number.
It was only after providing all of this sensitive information that I realised the member of staff was wearing Meta smart glasses. I immediately felt extremely uncomfortable and questioned him about whether the glasses were recording. His response was very sharp and dismissive, telling me that if he were recording, a light on the glasses would be flashing.
I was not reassured by this response. Given the amount of highly sensitive personal and financial information I had just provided, I believe I had every right to be concerned about whether I was being recorded. I was also uncomfortable with the way my concerns were handled.
What should have been a pleasant experience of buying a new phone turned into a very uncomfortable and upsetting one. I find it completely inappropriate for staff who are handling customers' private and financial information to wear smart glasses that are capable of recording, particularly without clearly informing customers beforehand.
I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I received and believe Currys needs to seriously consider whether staff handling sensitive customer information should be permitted to wear devices such as these while dealing with customers.
A very unpleasant experience and, in my view, completely avoidable. Will not be retur ing to PC world, a shame as Is where I come to get all my tech. Not anymore.

The sales person, Paul, was very helpful, knowledgeable and patient with me. He explained everything clearly.
I had a problem with paying, needing to transfer cash between my accounts....which went wrong!!! Paul put my purchase on hold until I was able to sort it out. I cannot fault my experience of my visit.

Mark was ever so helpful and patient during our visit to the Cheltenham store - I had plenty of questions about what I needed from a laptop and he had the answers. Would definitely visit again in the future.

Staff quickly understood what I had come in for and got the item. With a view on a later purchase I asked if there are any small (say 40" or less) tv sets with Auracast and they were quick to look this information up for me.

good with currys but creation keep sending me details to log in and the give wrong phone number where they have sent the code, Sat three hours waiting on phone to tell them but can not get through. Currys pick up in cheltenham fine staff brilliant but creation awful

All the process was good, and the delivery guys were great and on time as the gave me the time of delivery,

Paul was very helpful and facilitated our purchase of a dishwasher. We had reviewed a wide range of potential purchases online, but were a bit disappointed that the Cheltenham store did not hold as wide a range as we had reviewed.

Beyond exasperation. We tried to buy a portable radio several times at Evesham and Cheltenham stores. Very few on display worked and staff were far too busy chatting with each other to assist a mere customer. The answer? Simples, we bought elsewhere. Curry’s used to be our ‘go to’ electrical store but those days are long gone.
Typical bland corporate reply from Curry’s, does nothing to change our opinion.

Product sensibly (not cheapest...) priced. Arrived quickly. Fairly fuss free collection process.

I had to travel 17 miles to Cheltenham because Evesham had not got any computers , vacuum cleaners in stock. They lost a customer there!
Cheltenham were so helpful .they directed me to the best purchase for my grandsons needs. The advice was very beneficial. I will travel there in future.

Ordered on line late Saturday and item delivered Tuesday

The initial delivery failed to install any of the equipment.
The second attempt was successful. On both occasions the delivery team were doing there level best to do a good job.
The installation went well the second time as I thought, however the lady of the house pointed out a loose unattached cover on the door of the freezer, with the same cover missing altogether from fridge. Serviceable but not pretty.
