Just a further update to this…

When I paid for my vehicle the invoice was from Drive time motors, so was the warranty and some of the repayments but the actual company I paid was Euro trader… Please check the reviews for Euro trader as if anything goes wrong with your vehicle, Drive time motors response is that you paid Euro Trader - completely different company although you deal with the same people…

No integrity at all from DTM….

Not surprised at all to see this place is now showing as permanently closed on Google Maps. Dealing with them, and specifically their representative and director George Brett, has been an absolute nightmare - a five-month ordeal of endless excuses and completely broken promises.

I bought a car from their Billericay branch back on 28 January 2026. I really should have known better when George refused to let me take it to a pre-arranged independent garage for a quick check-up, claiming it was "against company policy." He reassured me they would happily take the car back should I find any hidden issues, but that was a lie. Within minutes of paying and driving away, I discovered the front left speaker was completely dead. When I arrived home, I found out the battery was failing and the armrest latch was broken and literally held together with Blu Tack. George promised me in writing that the dealership would cover the costs to get these issues sorted at a local garage.

What actually followed was half a year of relentless chasing just to get them to honour their word. I don’t even know why I kept believing him every time he said it would be fixed "tomorrow" or "next week" when it was obvious they were just stalling. Over the course of five months, I had 43 phone calls completely ignored, as well as any attempt to return the car for a refund. When George did reply, his stream of excuses for failing to deliver parts or transfer money was endless (and quite creative): being off sick, or on leave, hospital visits, family emergencies, to being stuck in traffic, doing a test drive, his boss being away, someone else not doing their job diligently, moving houses and his phone being stolen. Every one of those excuses would delay matters for a day or two, or until I would next follow up.

To make matters worse, the car was advertised as fully serviced by the OEM, when in reality only the first two services were actually done by them. Then, when the dealership finally attempted to source used replacement parts (from eBay, not OEM), they repeatedly shipped them to the wrong address — whether out of pure incompetence or intentionally to buy more time, I don’t know.

After I finally fronted my own money to get the parts fitted at my local garage, they strung me along for weeks for the reimbursement. It all culminated in July 2026 when George flat out refused to pay the owed £417.99, citing the dealership's "slight cash flow issue" and telling me I'd just have to wait until funds cleared into their account. As of July 2026, the underlying audio fault still isn't fixed, my upfront garage payments haven't been reimbursed, and the dealership has completely washed their hands of it. If you want your standard consumer rights respected or value your sanity, be prepared to go to court or take your business elsewhere. This place will sell you a car with undisclosed faults and drag you through months of stress and financial excuses rather than putting it right.

Wanted to put zero stars but wouldn't let me write a review without putting one star . Anyway this is the worst garage I've ever brought a car from total crooks now taking these to court process . Sold us a dodgy car no response back from them the gear box is knackered got a appointment to see about about small claims end of the month .do not buy from here less you want to lose your money they don't answer the phone promise to call you back and they don't no response back from consumer letters even though in our rights we had 30 days for a refund and they completely shut us off how can someone with a business treat people like this we can't go down there as it's all going through courts.

Easy to deal with, car was as described. Would reccomend.

I bought a bmw 420d from drivetime,my car was on its last legs so without doing any homework went to showroom and put a deposit down.
I asked for the wheels to be refurbished and they agreed and also got £500 for my old banger result as it would of gone to auction and I would of got nothing.
Got home done some research on drivetime and found a load of bad reviews my jaw hit the floor..after a bit of negativity on my behalf nd a few missed phonecalls and deadlines I let the deal proceed and realised Charlie works on a different timescale than me but he's a good bloke and I got a great car for a great price.once home I gave the car a lot of checks and a good spin about realised aircon didn't work so rang Charlie and finally spoke after a couple of hours he said he'll pay for regass and did next day..not the smoothest of transactions all in all he just needs to be more quicker on the ball but again he held up on his promises and delivered all he said he would..

Dont NOT trust this garage, please dont make the same mistake we made, they are the biggest crooks ive come across when buying a car. Please do your background checks on what the company was called before and why it changed, we are now in the process of taking them to court like many others. All they care about is getting your money, dont just take my word for it or make the same mistake we made, please do your background checks. Most of the 5 star reviews are fake.

I had a really positive experience buying my car from drive time . From the first enquiry to driving away, everything was handled professionally and transparently. There was no pressure at any stage, and they were happy to answer all my questions. The car was in excellent condition and exactly as advertised. It’s refreshing to deal with a company that genuinely values customer service. Highly recommend.

Never bought a car online before especially a secondhand one… was very nervous to be fair. But was over three hours away and couldn’t make the drive to dealer.. Spoke on the phone seemed like a nice bunch so decided to go ahead. Absolutely fantastic! we made payment info and the cart arrived the next day as promised.. I recently purchased a fantastic X5 from Drive Time, and I couldn't be happier! I travelled from Manchester to collect the car, but it was totally worth it. Charlie was absolutely fantastic, super helpful and made the whole process a breeze. He went above and beyond to ensure I left with the perfect car for me. Local to Billericay or not, I would always try and use this company.. buying a car can be quite tricky and knowing who to trust and somewhere being reliable is hard to find. But I’ve had a few cars from here and they have all been superb!

Overall very impressive.. found my wife's car several weeks of searching and was very happy start to finish. Had a minor issue after purchase that was dealt with immediately with no problems. Lovely place and good staff who was very helpful start to finish.
