Brilliant but only if finance companies actually pay attention to CIFAS & credit file notes. As yet I've not seen a decrease in unauthorised searches against my file with these things in place.

I went into an EE store for a phone and


I went into an EE store for a phone and they declined my application, based on my rating with yourselves.
I then phoned your company to find out reason for this only to be told that I would need to register online and set up an account. I followed suit and found my score to be 100 so why was I declined? A total shambles. I started to panic thinking that someone was impersonating me or had stolen my ID.
Went elsewhere and got a phone without any hassle after the store carried their own checks with a different agency.

i wish i could give no stars, Equifax do nothing but kook after there £14.99 a month from the public and the hundreds of dollars and pounds they charge companies, what happen if you complain about a company to Equifax, i tell you what happens they do nothing but write to the company concerned the company that is paying Equifax hundreds maybe thousands of pound dollars and what ever other currency and if the company say it ok its right then that Equifax washing there hands there is no independent body doing the looking this is self regulating ad it needs to stop. we need to get 100,000 signatures and get this debated, the power companies like Experian have over our lives since the rise of digital needs independence paid for from the billions made by these companies

We do offer some subscription products, but even these are available with a free 30 day trial period, so that you may use the time to decide whether you feel the features represent value for money.

Detailed, useful but not always user friendly

The Equifax site is good for checking address history and personal information on file.
It also lists your credit agreements but there isn't an easy way to gauge things like average age of accounts (AAoA).

For a paid service I think it should include this sort of functionality especially as AAoA is linked to score.

The other issue is that it sends an email every time you log on AND sends you message in your Equifax inbox.

There is no way to delete the messages in Equifax's inbox, there should be a delete or archive option in my opinion as a lot of the messages can be identical just add clutter

Also when signing in, it's not immediately clear what changes there have been in your credit report without having to look into it. An email (and message) is sent when there has been changes but it's not easy to work out exactly what changes these are.

Since signing up I increased my score from 610 to 769 and after 5 months its usefulness has plateaued.

As a paid service, it's good for seeing immediate updates to your score, credit agreements and receiving notifications about searches.

But the inbox becomes very large quickly so can't really browse through it.

And the user interface could benefit from being more interactive and informative - the data is there but requires interpretation and calculation

Clueless

So last time i contacted this firm 3/4/26 they told me they needed more time to see what had gone wrong with my application....OVER A MONTH AGO ! So a week ago I emailed them & still got no response.totally given up with them.

Unbelievably frustrating to deal with

Equifax has been unbelievably frustrating to deal with. Every simple request seems to get handled incorrectly, and I constantly have to chase them to fix mistakes that should never have happened in the first place.

What’s worse is that they repeatedly close cases before the issue is actually resolved — sometimes before I even have a chance to reply. I’ve had to contact them multiple times to correct inaccurate information, only for them to add even more incorrect details afterward.

The whole process feels disorganized, careless, and exhausting. A company handling sensitive personal and financial information should have far better standards for accuracy and customer support.

If your finance agreement is not showing in the app, it is likely because it falls outside the specific criteria for the FCA Redress Scheme.

Here are the main reasons an agreement might not appear:

It falls outside the eligible date range: The app only displays motor finance agreements taken out between 6 April 2007 and 1 November 2024.

Loans before 6 April 2007: These are not included because the Financial Ombudsman Service did not yet have responsibility for consumer credit complaints at that time.

Loans after 1 November 2024: If you have a newer loan, you can still view it by clicking "Get my Report" within the app, but it will not appear in the specific redress scheme section.

It is for a different vehicle type: The scheme currently covers cars, vans, campervans, and motorbikes. If your finance agreement relates to a different type of vehicle, it may not be displayed

These Principles are based on internationally recognized laws and standards for
human rights, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (“UDHR”), the

This information is supplied to us by your provider and we can help you correct the information by using the data dispute process. As we don't own the data, we'll manage the dispute with the data supplier on your behalf. Once the dispute has been raised, the company has 21 days to respond to it. While this is happening, we'll add a note to your Equifax Credit Report so that any organisations looking at it are aware that the information is under dispute. If you prefer, you can get in touch with the company directly and ask for changes to be made at the earliest opportunity. If you are successful, you can ask the company to ensure records are updated at Equifax and any other Credit Reference Agencies as soon as possible.

You can cancel your service online by logging into your Equifax account, going to the My Account tab and selecting the Product Management option on the left. Please make sure you download all the credit reports and scores before you call because they cannot be retrieved after the service has been cancelled.

Additionally, when you cancel the service you’ll no longer receive alerts about changes to your information and we may not be able to answer specific questions about your account in the future.

Waste of time and money

I needed my credit report for a remortgage, charged me for membership then wouldnt let me download the report just a wheel of thinking and then nothing.
Much better service from experian.
