Please contact our Customer Care Team at 1-866-828-5961 for additional help completing your request." i called and someone with a strong accent who had a hard time speaking and understand english answered me, took all my personal information, then tried to sell me a membership, and when i said i wasn't interested, she told me that she couldn't help me to log in, it sounded like a call center scam.
These reps are the worst
These reps are the worst. I received an email from Equifax IdWorks that has some problems. I sent the email that Equifax sent me along with two questions. Easy questions. One question was which account are you talking about (I have 3 separate accounts.) Second question was where do I look for the information you told me to logon and look at. Nowhere on the email does it say where to look after logon.
I have now received 4 different responses from customer service and not one answered my questions. If Equifax handles my credit the same way they do customer service, they should not be in business. It is pathetic.

TERRIBLE company! For months I have been unable to access my account. For weeks I have been attempting to reach someone who has a solution that actually works, but instead when I'm actually able to reach anyone either by online chat or by phone (a f***ing miracle in this day and age) I am given the same rubber stamped cookie-cutter steps, instructions, etc by anyone I'm miraculously able to reach that NEVER work. Something is wrong with their website, internal systems, etc that they refuse to fix that prevents people from logging in. I noticed at least one glitch and explained it to them, yet no one seems to have any sense of urgency to investigate any further.
I have been researching this issue on chat boards like Reddit, etc, and apparently the issue is endemic. There are people who have not been able to login to their accounts for literally YEARS. The last time I attempted to reach customer service (today) it was to close my account and have my personal information scrubbed from their site. They AGAIN gave me the same instructions to login that never worked in the past months. I'm sure just like every other damn company anymore everyone that works in their call centers are in some third world country reading from a script for $3 a day, and doesn't give a damn about Equifax's customers.
It's extremely unsettling that this company manages VERY sensitive and financially intimate information that people's lives and financial mobility depend on, and this widespread ongoing issue does not imbue confidence, a sense of security or competence, especially after their data breach in 2017.
I will be hopping on the first class action suit against them that I come across. I wish I could give them negative stars! ð ð

Horrible customer service. My account has been locked for over a week and there is no sense of urgency, including the ability to escalate the call.
Also, the authentication process took 12 minutes. I had to answer half of the questions I did through the VRU with the agent after I was connected. Call center in evidently not in the US, though people were polite. I had been a subscriber of 3 in 1 Credit Monitoring for over 10 years, but I had no choice but to cancel it. Now I have to find another service.

Just tried to create account and it rejected login and then after trying multiple times had to call their AUTOMATED answering machine, and tried that then had to call again twice to talk to an actual person, the first one kept breaking up, and the second one I did everything to PROVE I am who I say I am (They DO NOT allow this to be done on a PC and only phone to supply the picture proof requested) and then they wanted me to mail the same information to prove it was really me. This is just BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

FRUSTRATING customer service experience
It was EXTREMELY difficult to hear the customer service agent. (Significant background noise and the agent kept âcutting outâ.) This was not a one-time occurrence. It happened two days in a row. Does Equifax set up their call centers in foreign countries with tin cans and string?

Worst customer service
Worst customer service. After trying to create an account for my adult son over the course of a week, I kept getting an "NH" error, and it said to call customer service. I did so and talked to a Brian (BXL146) who said my son has no credit, and so they can't create an account. I asked why I could do so with Trans Union and Experian without trouble, and also I added my son as an authourized user on one of my credit cards over a month ago. He then tried telling my son he had to send a copy of his driver license and birth certificate in order for them to create an account. I then asked Brian what happens if someone opens an account in my sons name because he can't freeze his credit with them. Will I then have to sue Equifax? He had no answer.
I just can't understand why my son could create accounts with Trans Union and Experian, but has such trouble with Equifax.
Absolutely useless
Absolutely useless. Their AU site is clunky and hard to use, and after you sign up and pay and provide all your ID, which is verified, they didn't set up my account and left me waiting for 2 weeks. I had to contact them; I sent 3 emails, all ignored. Then I lodged a complaint, and nothing happened again. I complained to my bank about getting the funds returned as they hadn't provided the service I paid for, and the funds were returned. My vendor did a credit check, and Equifax failed my check, which is now on record. I made a complaint again, ignored. So I escalated to AFC. 2 weeks later a human being emailed me from Equifax telling me I need to register my details. I told them I had already and what had happened. They then replied and said all my ID was still on their system... if I cancelled my account I would have to start all over again.. OMG. They are just idiots and wont recognise my ID, even after I have provided DL, Passport and Medicare.. they are DODGY.. and blows my mind with the amount of negative feedback they are still getting away with stuffing so many people around and negatively affecting peoples lives because their systems are clearly outdated and the people in customer service do not provided customer service.
