What's the point in continuing to advertise a car you don't have?

I contacted them after seeing a car KW69 KJY on Motors.co.uk to receive a reply to say they don't have the car. They then continue to advertise the car after telling me they can't help me?

Came for a visit to have my motobility car mot , polite & pleasant

So, purchased a car £15.6k Golf ( it had been used by Evans Halshaw previously ) from the same company in Darlington.

It kept over heating so I brought it back, they said the battery needed charging up. That did not work and next time I was travelling home on the A1 motorway about 40 miles from home. Suddenly and alarmingly the ‘emergency lights’ came on to stop driving due to engine over heating.

I took car back very upset and agitated and felt the only option was to spend another £9k ( on top of before ) to buy a car I had confidence in.

The impact in terms of inconvenience was significant as I could not go to work for 5 days ( I managed to work from home ) I then had to forfeit a full tank of fuel ( £70) pay a retention fee ( £80 ) and lose £500 from original selling price as I had completed 2k miles.

I am left feeling very upset and slightly cheated on the whole experience. I don’t see it as the sales colleagues fault, it seems it is company policy with no empowerment or common sense or courtesy employed.

The location was Darlington but it is a national policy so please be aware.

I visited evans halshaw Citroën a few weeks ago to see what deal they could give me for the car I had and hated ( only had it a year ) I was introduced and greeted to Nathan who had previously provided my mum with a fab service. Nathan was fab looked around my awful car and came inside to look up the two model cars id said I liked. He found me a lovely 20 plate model I liked and put together a fantastic deal ( I wouldn't find this deal anywhere else i guarantee) in the past I have had awful dealings with evans halshaw ( Middlesbrough) and always said I wouldn't use them again, however Nathan and his team went above and beyond. I collected my car on the 12th September ( After 1st test driving it to see if I liked it ) Nathan also accompanied me to a local post office to get it taxed. I don't plan on swapping this car when my 4 years is up but when I do ill be back.

Two recent visits to Evans Halshaw Citroen dealership in Darlington. Excellent customer service on both occasions from Stephanie and Sarah-Jayne, with especially helpful and considerate service from Sarah-Jayne who took it upon herself to save me a great deal of time and hassle.

Took my car in for a service, and it was very easy to book online, plus the receptionist who dealt with me explained what everything on the service report meant. Very helpful and friendly, also a good price for the standard service. Highly satisfied.

On arrival to service desk the staff were excellent, very professional, efficient and polite. The team who serviced my vechile done a outstanding job.
I recieved update and informed of any work that needed to be carried out.

Worst company ever dealt with - period, not just In the automotive industry.

The branch dealt with was Citroen Darlington.

-Rude staff with big egos - Head of business
-Incompetent sales staff
-Lack of professionalism from top to bottom
-No care for customers or quality
- Poor customer service

Miss-sold me a car as immaculate and advised that all visible stone chips would be buffed out - This turned out to be a lie to get me to purchase the car, following 5 and a half months of complaint emails they picked up the car to “smart repair” and returned the car with more scratches and all original stone chips, they now refuse to sort this and suggest I contact them in written form.

Confirmed the car was one price over email which I agreed to purchase the car for and then added £150 on the day of purchase because “I agreed to purchase after 48 hours”

Tried to overcharge me for the car - Supposedly there system made an error calculating the delivery cost.

Charged me for delivery when it states several times on their website it’s free within 250 miles.

Delivered the car with a faulty KAFAS camera and therefore error messages were displayed on the dash and and none genuine wind screen which causes this issue.

How refuse to respond via standard contact methods email/phone and request communication in writing.

Trading standards contacted.

The list goes on.

Kim at Citroen, made changing my car an absolute dream. I was dreading changing it but speaking with Kim he made sure I got exactly what I wanted and under the budget I gave him. Absolutely cannot recommend him enough, fab experience

Got my tyres, drop links and MOT done here last week and I wouldn’t go anywhere else with my car the service is impeccable, I’d received the free health check back through and I had a query about it and was given thorough detail and help from the technicians and service advisors who were all fantastic, I was also provided with a clean, comfortable loan car so I could still get to work, like I said I wouldn’t go anywhere else
