Very poor performance from Evans Halshaw, Bretten, Chester, Ford transit centre, booked in for full service, brake sensor issue & heated seats won’t turn off also booked a courtesy vehicle. All booked online as couldn’t get answer from phoning. I turn up for booking & it’s not booked in! Then after a quick check they said oh we tried ringing you but no answer. Why not leave a voicemail or text or email? I got no indication that my booking was invalid! All was confirmed by email from online booking but apparently the garage has to ring you to book in as online is not compatible with the garage system. What is the point of all that! They also said they don’t provide a courtesy vehicle so why offer it online?
I’ve been using this garage for over 30yrs & it’s gone down hill the last few years. Very disappointed, struggling to find reason now to use them again!

After a bit of a difficult start I ended dealing with Glynn in the Chester branch and he sorted any previous problems out for me, nice and smooth purchase in the end and very much appreciated.

Steve was fantastic and made purchasing my new vehicle very simple and easy.

.I recently bought an eighteen month old 2023 Ford Transit Courier from ‘Ford Transit Centre Bretton’ for a sum of 15k after looking at vehicles from many other dealers but decided on buying the van from this location due to it being a Main Ford Dealer, which although slightly more expensive than other dealers gave peace of mind in the knowledge that the vehicle would be in excellent condition as advertised and still had eighteen months Manufacturers Warranty cover.

When purchasing the van from sales executive I was assured that the van was in excellent condition and when asked about the service history and service booklet was advised by Steve since 2022 Ford operate an online system called DSR (Digital Service Record) and that the service history was stored there, and no longer as a paper record.

Due to the six hour and 380 mile round trip from Chester to Bristol and back again I decided to have the van delivered, on taking receipt of the van over the weekend I was initially happy with it, however the next day decided to clean it properly due to there being sand and food wrappers behind the driver and passenger seats.

This Is The Start Of Many Issues And Untruths! As Follows:

Issue One

Whilst checking the oil on the van I noticed that the Offside Rubber Bonnet Stop was missing on 17th May I contacted Steve and explained the situation to him, 19th May Steve contacted me requesting the van registration, mileage along with images of the engine bay and missing part, which I sent that day so he could order the replacement part, on 22nd May Steve contacted me again requesting the same details (mileage, registration, images of engine bay showing missing Rubber Bonnet Stop) On 28th May having heard nothing I further contacted Steve enquiring about the part, On 2nd June he replied to me saying that he had been away and could he have my mobile number! On 4th June I spoke with Steve and went into great detail to describe the part to which he assured me he would order and send to me. Sat 28th June called Steve again as still not received the part or heard anything from him, to be advised by Steve that the parts person Pete? was away and had left the part in a drawer and forgotten to post it! However would get Frank who was with him at the time of the call to post it that day as we spoke. 3rd July No part and heard nothing from Steve, if the part was genuinely posted on Sat 28th June would it not be with me by now!!…. Really easy to deal with. Good range of vans to look at at decent prices. Liam has been amazing throughout keeping us updated, nothing a problem at all. Highly recommend.

Was busy with work so couldn’t get to see the van but Liam brought it out to show me at my work place. He was always quick responding to question I had and made the experience brilliant!

Very expensive for the work completed. The level of customer service is blunt. I was not expecting too much however, it still fell short. I was charged £130 for diagnosing a fault that was displayed on the dash. When booking the car in i explained what the problem was. Positives, my van is now fixed.

I have used Evans Halshaw Chester for several years and have never had a problem
