Sadly a bad experience. Ordered two tyres through black circles to be replaced by f1 auto centres Dunstable, got there for my appointment time at 10. Didn’t start job till 11 - no point asking to book a slot if timings are irrelevant. Car went in and said they couldn’t get one wheel nut off and it would cost £120 for someone at the garage to take it off. I took my tyre elsewhere and they got the wheel off no problem. Believe they tried to scam money out of me - didn’t work this time. Not black circles fault I guess but avoid f1 auto centres Dunstable

One star is too much to give to this joke!
Booked a slot (service+MOT) 2 weeks in advance (no slot earlier as per website).
Brought my car to the service, arrived 8:40 (10 min after opening time) and told I missed my MOT slot and had to come another day.
Then, I was told they cannot replace my car air filter - I have to buy it myself and they will chage it for free another day (it was already paid in advance).
Somehow, during the day MOT was done, but my car failed (rear snapped springs) and I was told it is beyond their expertise to replace them. I managed to have them replaced by a private auto mechanic in his backyard.
When I went back for MOT I had to ask them to sort out my engine oil level - minimum level already reached even though it was changed by them 1 week ago.
So unprofessional....

Luke helped me after a nail was stuck in my tyre…. Removed it, no fuss just fab service….

1hr 15 mins to change to fit a new tyre on a basic steel wheel.. Told its done.. Go home, check car and the tyre wasn't even changed.. I called back and was told it be sorted in 10mins..waited an additional 30 mins and chased up where is my car.. The guy was struggling with the the balancing machine and didn't know low to use the torque wrench! If staff can't even remember to fit a new tyre you do wonder are they actually checking customers wheels to make sure the bolts are tight.. The staff were playing with e bike, boxing gloves and spending time chatting up 3 girls.. Would I use again? Hell no! Would I recommend formula one? Hell no! I've already told 5 people not to use them.. You also can't contact customer services. They never pick the phone up!

Had a fuel leak in my Mercedes B class.Was told by the deputy manager to bring it in the next morning. I brought it it the next morning only to be informed that they are not insured to deal with fuel.Avoid at all costs.

Avoid the Dunstable branch at all costs !!
They are unprofessional and IMO incapable of simple instructions especially the manager. They are rude and slow. The area manager is no better !

I would push my car past their garage rather than use them !!!

I had an outstanding experience at Formula One Autocentres – Dunstable, thanks to Dominic’s exceptional customer service. We initially booked one of our Golfs in for a tyre change, and the service was so efficient, professional, and straightforward that we immediately brought in another vehicle from our fleet.

Dominic went above and beyond, making the whole process smooth and stress-free. Because of the excellent service we received, we’ll now be using this branch for all our tyres and any future mechanical work.

Visited the Dunstable sight today for an MOT, couldn't be more pleased & waiting room was very comfortable

Charge for genuine parts and fit cheapest other ones, arrogant aggressive manager never use these people.

Whatever you are paying Dominic the manager at Formula one i suggest you double it. You are never going to find a more polite efficient friendly guy who puts the customers mind at rest. My car failed the MOT with a broken suspension spring and an ABS pump misbehaving. But thank-you to Mr M Azeem for finding the faults after I had already checked it out,obviously not sufficiently well and Dominic arranging a retest after repair within a couple of days means the car passed it's MOT and I have transport again. I only wish all garages were as cooperative,fair, honest and friendly as Formula one. Why would I go anywhere else? Thank-you.

Very busy tyre change, no job too small. Young lad precise and efficient. Very quiet, but focused on the job. Was amazed. Definitely will be coming back

Booked car in to fix slow puncture. the staff especially Dom went beyond thew call of duty to fix the issue today

I purchased my tyres on F1's online shop. You receive a discount and a great offer, and you can also book your time, date, and location.
I had the tyres fitted at the local F1, at 8:30 am All four wheels, like you do when the price is great, were fitted within the hour, and the vehicle runs lovely.
The staff that I had dealings with, were courteous and informative, and great service all round on 27/01/2025

I booked in to see them days in advance. I told them the problem was my fuel injectors, I was told I can bring the car in on Thursday.

It is now Thursday, I have taken a day off work and I have been turned away at the door as they are not insured to work with fuel. They could have told me this when I called them on Monday. They could have called me Tuesday or Wednesday and I could have arranged an alternative, but no, they thought turning away someone at the door was the way to go.

He gave me the number of someone can help, but he wasn’t free today. I remind you if I was given this number when I called or any of the days between, I may have been able to secure a slot, or changed my day off at work to accommodate. But no, as Formula One do not respect their customers enough to extend this courtesy, I am now stuck.

I went back in to ask if there is anyone else, he basically said he is too busy to help and I should just Google it.

There are a ton of mechanics in Bedfordshire, I don’t believe it will be hard to find one who respects your time more than these guys. Please avoid them

This is the third time I've used them in the last 12 months or so and they have always been extremely efficient and helpful. The manager, Dom, could not have been more friendly, pleasant and helpful. Another bonus is the MOT's are about £20 cheaper than everywhere else. I thought they might find more things to fail as they were so cheap but no, a 17 year old car and just one tyre with the cords showing to replace. Definitely recommend them.

On the 7th January 2025 I came in to look at change my brakes and alignment adjustment, Dom (Dominic) the site manager, was very welcoming and understanding of my situation, made a few recommendations and I can honestly say I was looked after and I knew my car was in good hands, I’ve never met someone so friendly and kind and delivered good customer service. I’d also like to thank Adam one of the stuff who I first met when I came in for quotations check, he was very attentive and welcoming. I will certainly recommend anyone to go with this centre and you’ll be well looked after.

Centre manager Dom was helpful and prompt. My appointment was the following day to my enquiry. The work (tyres) was carried out correctly. I've been a customer of the Dunstable centre for a few years now and Dom helpfully pulled up my previous purchases to check how well my tyres had lasted.
