Took ages because of covid . March order finally fulfilled in late oct. doesn’t serve the purpose any more.
Resolved in the end but communication could’ve been better . Expectations were set way off
The equipment was also super dirty and greasy . Is that normal?

Awesome communications during peak covid disruption,
stock is well priced and delivery issues were managed exceptionally well

6 months later - order not complete. Liabilities ignored. Take on board the many negative reviews.

Really happy with their service. Received prompt email updates including a short thankyou which, even if automated, was a nice touch. The equipment I ordered arrived within days of order. Would shop again.

So, my experience with Gym Direct has been a roller coaster. I ordered the power rack with dip bar, a bench along with some other smaller items. My order was frozen because my payment came up as high-risk fraud (even though I used Paypal to do the purchase) and GD didn’t tell me nor could they tell me how/why it happened when I finally asked where my order was. Their response was to ask for far too much identification to confirm the payment and when I voiced the serious issues with that, they were satisfied with a Paypal receipt. The problem was their communication which was initially handled poorly as they never told me in the first place about the high fraud risk and then they asked for dodgy levels of ID, but they recovered in the end and managed to sort it out for me. The gym equipment has been good so far. There were some bubbling marks on one of the upright rack tubes which I reported, and they are investigating now. Hopefully, I can get it replaced. Otherwise, I am happy with my gear. It works well and is wat I expected.

Great company, order for a large rack came within 5 days during covid and stage 3 lockdown. My housemate rejected delivery and it was due to return to sender, company sorted it out and re delivered within a day. Quick to reply to emails. Product itself is good quality. Highly recommend.

Ordered first week of April a pair of 80kg dumbbells. Despite continued promises I still haven't received them and it's now late September. The worst thing is they don't even know when they are getting them in. Surely they know when their stock is coming? Really terrible service. We understand covid is delaying shipping etc but some contact and updates would be nice. Have our products actually shipped? Time frame would be nice. What's the point if gyms will be open again by the time they get here?

Great products, fast shipping and helpful staff.

Purchased a rack of 11 pairs of dumbbells and even tho there were a lot of delays (promised dispatch dates/times)

In the end I received everything and the quality is really good despite it being way cheaper then other companies !!

Understandable during covid-19 but I think my 5 months is too long which is why I gave 4 stars :/

This company doesn't hold some (if not all) of their products advertised online. If you're after something within a week/month. This is not the place for you.

I purchased an item through this company knowing delivery was to be expected mid-late august (3 weeks) as stated on their product page. However, sometime after they pushed the expected delivery date by one month without sending a notification. I found this out by sharing the product to a friend only to notice the unexpected delivery amendment.

- Customer service responded to my email in 3 days.
- They are not answering customer phone calls due to COVID. <- Great excuse.

Overall:
You're better off shopping on Ali Express - it will save you time and money.

Ordered an A frame, plate storage and 15kg dumbells had one delay already have sent another email stating if they don't get their shipment by the end of aug I want my money back so sick of these fitness companies taking advantage of us ☹️☹️ have received my A.frame and dumbells.and got a.refund on my plate storage. Really happy with the stuff I got thanks

Made an order for a DIF Bench and MMPR Power rack.After making order read some bad reviews and thought may have made a mistake. But have to say extremely happy with the two pieces of equipment that I ordered, I received them in just over a week of placing order, I also sent an email enquiring about them receiving my payment and got a reply with in 24 hours.
So don’t believe everything you read as I couldn’t be happier with the service I received.

Ordered items on 9 June 2020, which were apparently in stock but would take around 2 weeks to deliver due to warehouse delays, which was fine. No contact until I chase it up on 7 July 2020. On 8 July 2020 I receive a reply advising the items should be shipped in the next 2 weeks (if not sooner). 21 July 2020 I email again asking for an update. Same generic response that the items will be shipped in 5-10 business days. I requested a refund and then was advised it will be 5-10 business days for a refund and then they have the hide to tell me they want to charge me a 2% cancellation fee. 29 July I chase up the refund and get a response saying they will look into it. I do not believe they ever had stock and I do not recommend purchasing anything from this store based on previous comments that they are doing this to everyone. Scam.

I got my bumper plates within a 6 week time frame, which is outstanding, I can not fault this company itself, the bumper plates looked a little rushed as the sides were not cut evenly on one plate but it hasn’t effected the performance and that’s not GD fault at all. I would buy more stuff from this company but unfortunately afterpay is no longer available which is a bummer but it is what it is. So thank you GD for your efforts during this crazy time.

Absolutely terrible customer service, no updates on my order until I emailed them after waiting 4 months for my parcel to arrive, it was then sent out after I emailed them, but received it yesterday with 2/8 items missing, not impressed, good prices but I think I would of rather just spend a little extra and shop somewhere else more reliable

Took over 2.5 months to get my items delivered, I understand it was during COVID, but I should have had the opportunity to cancel the order or at the very least get a rough estimate about the ETA about when I should expect my order

I waited three months to obtain my order. When I received it, the weights were wrong! I contacted the retailer and took a week for a reply. Then the retailer offered to have a courier pick up the wrong product which seemed fair. Then I asked about my actual weights I ordered and was advised after asking numerous times that it was on backorder. Rather than waiting another three months I requested a refund. That when they stopped talking to me. This company really needs to improve on its communication processes with their customers. Setting expectations will greatly improve - and processing refunds in a timely manner too.
BTW I'm still pursuing my refund
