After a poor experience with another estate agent, we decided to go with Hilton & Horsfall to sell our house. Gavin attended the valuation and was very knowledgable and came with an organised and detailed information booklet. The turnaround from agreeing to sell with H&H to the house having photos taken and being live on the market was within 48 hours. From start to finish, the communication has been outstanding, particularly with Kendra, who was overseeing the sale of our property. We were always kept up to date regarding the viewings and she made sure to work around our schedule. We were lucky to have both Kendra and Bella deal with the negotiations and we received a price for our house that we were happy for. Kendra really went above and beyond, working extra days or replying to emails to ensure the chain completed smoothly and for that reason, I would definitely recommend Hilton and Horsfall to sell your house. Our experience with Hilton & Horsfall Estate Agents has been fantastic from start to finish. After previously being with another estate agent and feeling disappointed with the service, the difference when we moved to Hilton & Horsfall was clear straight away.

Their communication has been excellent throughout – always keeping us informed and happy to answer any questions. Their marketing is truly above and beyond, showcasing our property in a way that really stood out.

Once we secured a buyer, their persistence and speed in responding made a huge difference. They communicated quickly and efficiently with both our solicitors and the buyer’s solicitors, which really helped to keep everything moving and sped up the whole process. Throughout it all, they were friendly, professional, and polite.

We wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend Hilton & Horsfall and would absolutely use them again in the future.

I recently bought a property marketed by Hilton and Horsfall. The sale was negotiated by Teal, who was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Any query I had was dealt with expeditiously, and there was a constant line of contact and dialogue between all involved parties. Despite Teal acting on behalf of a client, it was evident that there was no bias or prejudice. I don’t suffer fools and I dislike false niceties / sales patter, so it was refreshing to deal with Teal who is genuine, professional and friendly. He is a credit to Hilton and Horsfall.

I had the pleasure of dealing with both directors Mark and Gavin as well as Teal (Negotiator) in relation to a rental property, and while things started off smoothly, the moment payment was received, all communication came to a grinding halt. Emails went unanswered, phone calls ignored, and I was left constantly chasing for even the most basic updates.

I requested a draft tenancy agreement and was sent a completely blank one; utterly useless. I asked for confirmation that my deposit had been placed into a holding scheme and never received any form of acknowledgement. Instead of keeping me informed, I was left in the dark for weeks.

Then, out of nowhere – a full month later – I received an impersonal email saying the landlord had a “change of circumstances” and would be letting the property to someone else. No apology, no explanation, and certainly no accountability from the agency. This was despite my full deposit being paid and me actively waiting for confirmation of a move-in date.

What makes matters worse is that there were a few other identical properties available, and yet none were offered as an alternative and all are still available. It’s beyond unprofessional to simply brush things off and shift blame to the landlord, when the reality is that their whole team repeatedly ignored correspondence and mishandled the process.

This agency’s behaviour was negligent, unprofessional, and frankly disrespectful. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone – they clearly don’t value their clients once they have your money. Save yourself the stress and go elsewhere. Lord knows how they managed to win awards.

Great service

I can’t recommend Hilton and Horsfall enough, Mark and his team especially Teal, went above and beyond to help us both buy and sell our properties. We had many challenges and I think without their help and encouragement we wouldn’t have ended up in our beautiful new home.

This is the second time we have used Hilton & Horsfall to sell our property. The whole process was excellent. Great care and attention was taken to ensure the pictures and property tour showcased the house effectively - we couldn’t believe the response on social media. We had several offers in a matter of weeks. The whole team were fantastic, very professional and efficient. They worked really closely with the solicitors and buyer to ensure the process ran smoothly and as quickly as possible. Teal went above and beyond to help us meet our deadline.
