Hot wire is a total scam but keep calling them a demanding your money back they should do it. Had to talk to 5 different manufacturers. They did for us in the Maui wild fires because the governor said not to come to Maui.

hotwire will not give refunds even after maui wild fires 2023! THEY have a strict on no refund policy this is sad for travelers and residents. even if they offer travel insurance. this FIRE was beyond my control! 1st time i rented two cars by old people brain, and guess what no REFUND for the 2nd car. i should not have used HOTWIRE again, old habits die hard SO..
grant you my trip is not until NOV 4. but my condo rental called us to ask if we want to go somewhere else! we said yes because it is so close to lahaina. hawaii airlines let us cancel for that week! but selfish no heart hotwire is keeping my $500! no switching days no switching islands nothing! no heart!
i really dont want to go to maui with so much devastation. just dont use them they are company with no heart! no live person etc.. customer service s something to be desired. go with priceline. oh if i call back 72 hours before my trip if the things get worse i might get a refund. but by then its to late to get all my reservations in line together and find a place to stay since 46000 people are displaced. there going to need shelter! HEARTLESS HOTWIRE!!!!!

Do not use Hotwire I have been waiting on a refund since July 14th , all they do is give you a run around as to why it hasnt happened . Now theyre saying a manual process and it will take another 30 days

What a very misleading app. The first thing it should ask when you load the app is what currency you want to use. Made a booking in Canada for a Canadian hotel. All prices did not show what currency it was in therefore I thought it was Canadian. Not until the very last screen for the total did it say USD. if I set a default currency then the app displays prices in that currency. Why not show 'USD' when it's the default? I'll never use this app again.

I booked a vehicle rental on Hotwire.com 5 months in advance. They sent me a reminder email on 2 days before the rental date. I showed up with my family at the car rental location printed on my reservation only to find that it does not exist. I found out later that it closed and merged with another location, but I received no notification from Hotwire.com or from the car rental company (Enterprise). My reservation with booked 5 months in advance, was next to worthless. Over the next 3 hours, I then had to call all over the place and drive around to a number of locations to find a rental. In the end, another Enterprise location was able to provide me with a rental for the price I reserved with Hotwire.com, but what a hassle. They need to work better with their partners. How am I or anyone else supposed to trust them if they lead people to believe that they have a reservation that doesn't exist at a location that doesn't exist?

Scammed by hotwire. I was guaranteed a hotel and then got something totally different. Support didn't care at all and tried with 3 different ppl that all gave long generic responses. They even said the guarantee wording actuality means “examples” which is ridiculous.

I used to use hotwire more back in the day but today's experience basically reinforced why I will never use them again. They quoted me an "all booking are final" rental car package price. I paid most upfront but then had to pay the balance to the rental car agency directly. I ended up paying $75 more to the rental car agency and hotwire refuses to honor their price. Their customer service started with: 1) I needed to contact the rental car agency directly (but I purchased the package from hotwire); 2) the price is only an estimate (but all bookings are final); 3) and finally, I requested an car upgrade directly to the rental agency (just a flat out lie). Hotwire sucks. Never again.

Ripoff. I didn’t get a good deal at all. The hot rate deal was for a 2 king but I received a 2 queen at the Watermark hotel in McLean, VA.

Worst experience with this company. They have the worst customer service. I booked a hotel months ago out of town and when I went to the hotel I received a room for 2 people when the reservation said 4. Hotwire said they would call me back with a supervisor to solve the issue. No called and I was left to figure out sleeping arrangements. Terrible experience.

Hotwire agents are Liar

I am so pissed off that I am writing this review right after chatting with hotwire customer care.
I was on family vacation with my wife and daughter. I made advance reservation for a room with two queen beds and when I check in late night, I don't get what I booked for??
Front desk says "Well... I don't now how they booked this room probably it is lost in communication, what I can offer is a king bed and extra roll up bed"... what I can do this late so I accepted it.
Roll up bed was not at all comfortable and the mattress was full of spring as if there is no foam in it. I have back pain and neck pain problem and using this kind of bed could even hurt my back. And the worst part, room service said that they don't have pillow at all. Somehow they could get two pillows after long wait and multiple phone calls.
Room doesn't smell great.
Now a days, any small hotel will have fridge and oven but they don't. Room has table but no chair with table whereas in the photo they will show chairs also.
They have three lifts and just one works. It took me 20 mins to come down from 12th floor to lobby.
I would have appreciated, if hotel or Hotwire would have called me up on the day I made the reservation and informed about unavailability of room and let me decide.
At the same night, I contact Hotwire customer care on App. Agent offered me full refund of I leave the room in 30 mins or Hot $25 as a discount for future booking. I was ready to leave the room if Hotwire can reserve another room in any other hotel. After sometime, agent comes back saying he couldn't find any other room. I was so pissed off that I decided that I won't be using Hotwire in future so there is no question of getting Hot $25. Finally the conversation ended with a statement by agent "Manual refund will be issued to me which will be issued in 15 days.
Today I get an email that I will get a refund of $1.07, which was paid by me for extra bed???? Where is this calculation coming from?
I contacted customer care again and she is of no help. She mentioned that customer agreed for this refund, which I never agreed to. SO, that makes me feel that hotwire agents are liar.

I will never use hotwire again after this experience.

We checked in the the Doubletree hotel about an hour ago and I already feel cheated.
The young lady at the front desk has not interpersonal skills or any regard for customers.
I stood at the front desk for a few moments before she spoke to me and even looked perturbed as she was taking th condiments off her sandwich.
There was no" one moment, I'll be right with you or hi ma'am, give me just a second" all I recieevd an uninterested "yes".

There are absolutely no carts for guests to use for their luggage and its absurd.

Once we got to our room, ,our air did not work and they do not have a technician on-site apparently. So we go a new room.

The new room is dusty and one of the curtains is broken.

The fridge is not clean.

Cleanilness is not top on their priority list.

I am extremely disappointed to have paid $200+, checked in at 7pm, had to relocated into 2 different rooms with my children, husband and bags, and lastly for the rooms to not be properly cleaned.
I pulled the futon bed out and found a molded cigarette and they keep torn sheets.

I spoke with a hotwore representative and all she had to "offer" me was a 60.00 hot buck credit that could only be used for another booking.

I will never ever book with them.

Worst rental car experience in my 30 years renting cars. Service by Dollar staff at Newark International Airport was horrendous telling me to go to Hertz cause they were closing at 12:00am yet it was only 11:30pm. I refused. I had rented a FULL SIZE car and was given a Chevy Trax which was not a full size car and was the worst rental car and felt more like a death trap when driving the vehicle. Brakes were horrible, windshield wipers were awful. The car was unsafe. I tell Hotwire who I rented though and they want to offer me a 25% discount and give it to me in Hotwire dollars. That will do me no good as I would rather rent through someone else than use Hotwire or Dollar again.

No one should use the services of Hotwire!
I wanted to rent a car through Hotwire.
Hotwire deducted the money from my credit card. But it turned out I didn't want the car! The money was not returned to my credit card! They were supposed to send the money back within 3 weeks! Cheating, thieving bunch! No one should use Hotwire !

I booked a Hot Rate hotel through the website. I understand you take your chances when booking these rates. But the site said "You’re guaranteed to stay at one of these regional or national chains:" and showed Sheraton, Radisson, Holiday Inn, and Wingate. It further offered a photo from the hotel I was booking. I was booked into the Sonesta Select. I have talked to multiple people there, and get the same rehearsed answers. How can they legally make a guarantee and then not follow through with it?

their costemer service were so kind and helpful. and to split my order from 6 nights in an expensive hotel to 3 nights (twice) at a cheaper one and they helped me and gave an immediate refund. plus, i was pleased with the hotels they recommended. thank you! my trip to london was great and i know for sure i'll book with you next time.

I never write a bad review even if deserved but this was so bad I had to for future hotwire customers!
We were promised an " Excellent Rating" hotel and of course it showed very common nice hotels as my choices but ended up giving me a sketchy unsafe "ECONO LODGE MOTEL" that was beyond nasty!!
I will never ever book with Hotwire again!

I booked my rental car (40 days prior my trip) with Hotwire and got Dollar car rental. I got to Dollar car rental on May 20th 2023 and Dollar did not have a car for me. It was too late to book another car with other rental agency during the graduation weekend at Boston.
I had to spend more than $300 the next 4 days calling Taxis.
I am very disappointed with Hotwire.

I prepaid a rental using Hotwire but I had a flight delay and the rental place was closed. Hotwire did nothing about it, I had to use ride shares the entire trip at a further cost. Then they kept my money even though they never delivered the car.

Hotwire sucks.

Terrible: I booked a hotel in Nashville for a trip planned 2 weeks later. After booking, I called the hotel to confirm the reservation. At that point the hotel said that there would be an additional $100 charge upon check in. I called Hotwire back to inform them that I was never told about any additional charge, nor did I agree to it and I want to cancel. They said that they were not willing to do anything about it, despite the arbitrary additional charges. A couple of days later I went online to my Hotwire acct and told them about via the web-site that I was cancelling. Despite all this, they still charged me. Hotwire in my opinion, is not very customer service oriented company who is not willing to accommodate their most important asset: the client. I now use Booking.com by far, the best hotel booking site with the best prices and booking experience. I read recently that Booking.com has the fastest sales growth out of all the hotel sites.
