I booked through Hotwire and the hotel was disgusting. I will never book through them ever.

Very bad customer service

booked a room for out of town trip
on arrival we received the key went to the room and the door was broken. entered room with funky smell and floor was dirty. bed was made but sheets were stained. went back to front desk to ask for refund and told us we had to go thru hotwire for it. i ask for pholio for confirmation of cancelling room to give to hotwire. no one answered tha for the week so i let text and received a response 2 days later which equal 4 days siince cancelling room. hot wire refused to give refund and offed a 25 hotwire bucks crap. hotel was not safe nor clean which we did not stay. why is it so hard to receive a refund?

The reviews about METRO PHX APTS that speak about ROACHES and DIRTY LINENS and OLD TOWELS and POOR SERVICE FROM HOUSEKEEPING and LOCAL VAGRANTS and UNSAVORY LONG TERM TENANTS and rooms that need MULTIPLE REPAIRS are: ABSOLUTELY TRUE and ACCURATE. This might not be the WORST place to stay...it is without question the most UNCOMFORTABLE. Mostly because of the ROACHES and the dirty LINENS. (I went to Walmart and purchased my own pillow..pillowcase..towels and tried to sleep on the couch) Yes...the front desk staff is very friendly...NOT PROFESSIONAL. Yes..the property has a decent pool and picnic/grill area. Yes..the location is central to the airport and downtown and close to the highway. Yes...the rooms are large studio/kitchenette apt style intended for extended stays. However...staying here is almost a PUNISHMENT and HOTWIRE as well as ANY OTHER reputable travel site should be EMBARRASSED for listing this property AND sending guests here for lodging. Mostly because of the ROACHES and the OLD DIRTY LINENS and HOUSEKEEPING NOT BEING HELPFUL AT ALL. Staying at Metro PHX Apts is highly NOT! RECOMMENDED....unless you have ABSOLUTELY NO OTHER CHOICE.

They put me in a motel and called it a 3.5 star hotel. I tried to fix it somehow with their customer service and hotwires customer service smelled worst the motel they put us in. The feces or blood drops in the bathroom was the deal breaker for us, we just left and had to pay for another hotel ourselves. Hotwire pretty much told us to take care of the scam ourselves.

I had to request grovelling cancellation of a non-refundable hotel booking in the US, having had to cancel my trip entirely due to a family medical emergency, and the customer service advisor (Alex) was incredibly helpful and amenable. I wasn't expecting a lot of help to be honest, but the understanding and willing to help really meant a lot during an awful situation.

Horrible website. Website was messed up so everything I made a reservation I never received a confirmation email and never showed under my itinerary so I assumed the bookings weren't going though which has happened in the past so I tried 2 more times and the same problem happened. Then I check my bank account and saw the transactions went through. After I contacted hotwire about the transactions they admitted that they are having problems with their website but said they can only refund me for 1 transaction of the 3. I then asked if they can move the date of the second transaction and they said they can't. So I asked them why even tho this is their fault and that they admitted to it being their fault they could not refund me money for both transactions? They said its against their policy. Never using this scam website again.

I could not add a booster seat to my car rental reservation through Hotwire for December 23, 2023. The following directions to add amenities on their website are inaccurate; "please call the car rental agency at the number shown on your confirmation before the scheduled pick-up date to check availability." When I phoned Alamo Car Rental, the agent told me to call Hotwire. When I phoned Hotwire, the agent told me to call Alamo. Finally, after being transferred to three different Hotwire customer service representatives, the agent told me to request a booster seat at car pick-up and that there may be fees associated with the item. There will be fees, but my concern is that a booster seat may not be available to rent on one of the busiest travel weekends of the year, whereas reserving a booster in advance would have given me cause to expect to have one waiting as part of my reservation. Hotwire should have an online method to book or request amenities during the car rental. This option would give the customer peace of mind during a stressful time. If I can pick up a booster seat at the Alamo desk on December 23, my 2-star rating stands. If not, I'll be back on Trustpilot after Christmas with a 1-star rating only because 0 stars isn't an option.

Not what they show. Hotel I booked was suppose to be like doubletree Hilton but was closer to some cheap one star motel. Utterly waste of money and fraud of a company.

I had an awful experience. They are thief. They took my money for a room I never even stayed at.

The most inefficient company I have ever dealt with....dealing with them for one month to get a phone installed. Waiting since October for phone installation...three appointments thus far two no shows and one the installer came but was unable to install service...in addition after being told numerous times to contact us on our cell phone they insist on texting and calling the landlord while he is at work on Wall Street trading and is very upset about all the communication coming to him rather than us. Nov 20 appt no show..Nov 27 appt no show now we have our 3rd appt for Thursday Nov 30... Six weeks to get a phone installed!!!!

Truly the worse company I have ever worked with. They lie, book you a random hotel not in the list, and their support hang up on you. I would never use them, and you should neither.

Shame. My box was not working. They asked me to Waite 5 days for a technician.
I asked not to come and am going to see another provider.

Hotwire is a total scam. They are thieves who steal your money. My hotel room was nasty, had bugs, and mold. The room was not clean and was in poor condition. Tv wouldn't work. They wouldn't come up to fix it and I had to figure it out myself. Hotwire refuses to refund me even though they acknowledged all my claims (hard not to since I have multiple pictures).

If I could give them negative stars, I would!! I have used Hotwire in the past and never had a problem with them, unfortunately, that is no longer the case. It seems now they are nothing more than an overpriced travel agency with the worst customer service ever.
I booked two flights and a car rental for a week. Some time later I received an email from Hotwire stating that West Jet had cancelled my return flight and they had put me on a different flight. There was an “accept” or “decline” option at the bottom of page. I declined as I did not want an earlier flight with a long layover. I rebooked my return flight. The refund for the cancelled flight came from West Jet, not from Hotwire. At no time did either company inform me that both of my flights had been cancelled. When I arrived at the airport for my outbound flight, I was informed by West Jet agent that I was not scheduled on the flight as I had been cancelled from it by Hotwire. I had to hastily rebook a last minute flight that cost me over $1000. Hotwire is now refusing to refund any of my original cost or the rebooked flight that was necessary only due to their incompetence.
I will NEVER use them again! I am telling everyone I know to NEVER use Hotwire. DON’T USE HOTWIRE!

Hotwire is not an honest site and anyone doing business with them needs to know that before you book anything with them.
I booked a rental with Sixt Car rental company in Orlando FL and was charged $362.03. I only got to know that it did not reconcile that amount with Sixt and was charge directly by Sixt car rental leading to a double charge on my credit card.
I reported the case to my credit card company only for them to return with the case unresolved with Hotwire.
When i looked at the internet i found that Hotwire has LOTs of similar complaints. I'd give them a zero stars if that was possible.

Our hotel was unable to find us a room without mould and agreed to let us quit our booking early and help us arrange refund through Hotwire. I called Hotwire from the managers office and was assured by the Hotwire team member it would be easy to arrange a refund so we checked out and got another hotel. Now after 3 days Hotwire claim that they have repeatedly contacted the hotel but the hotel refuses to respond so our refund is refused. We travelled to the hotel to enquire in person as the manager had been so helpful before. The manager said they had not received any forms or communications from Hotwire, and have been looking for them. The manager sent me an email confirming that they are only charging us the one night. I forwarded this correspondence to Hotwire. I have given Hotwire the hotel managers direct email and they refuse to use it, saying that they must follow their protocol (which isn’t working) without any willingness to actually resolve the matter. It is either utter incompetence or they are lying and stealing from us. I hope the latter is not true. This has been the worst vacation we have ever had and the added stress and huge expense to us (having had to pay for two accomodations (one of which we have no access to) has crippled our ability to do anything on what was meant to be a special anniversary and birthday trip- a rare occasion for us. I just can’t believe this is happening. I will never book through Hotwire again and regret that I ever did.

Absolutely horrendous customer service. They steal your money. DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THEM. FRAUD!!!!!
