Help through dark times

We were recommended to Leigh Day by the special care nurses at our local hospital, we found them to be excellent to deal with, very knowledgeable, respectful and considerate. They kept us informed throughout the process and through their hard work and dedication brought about an excellent conclusion

I would recommend this company to anyone. They have been professional throughout and keep me undated from start to finish. They have been contactable and explained in detail every step as it has arisen which has helped me deal with the whole process. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone that is looking for a professional company that can give them piece of mind at the same time. I received Excellent service.

Excellent work from Leigh Day

Leigh Day have helped me massively after I came off my bike when going over a pothole that the Council had negligently failed to repair. I am an experienced cyclist, so knowing that the accident was not my fault, I was keen to pursue a claim.

My file handler, Emma Brocklehurst, was great. She always kept me fully informed and explained the progress of my claim to me in clear, understandable terms. Emma and her team took time to gather the evidence needed to put together an ultimately successful case. She represented me well during the negotiations for settlement, making sure I received the compensation I deserved for the damage my bike sustained and my injuries.

I would recommend Leigh Day and Emma for anyone who has gone through something similar to me. Thank you to Emma and her colleagues!

Understanding and helpful Solicitors

Cameron Vincent was extremely helpful in the way he dealt with my case. He took the time to explain aspects of the process as I had never been in this situation before. He was non judgmental and he supported me throughout the entirety of the case.

Very thankful to this company, plus the outside agencies they used to help me with my recovery and aftercare.

Exceptional solicitor - very professional

My experience with Tom Perry at Leigh Day has been nothing short of excellent- Professional, compassionate and truly outstanding

Tom represented me in a medical claim and has been exceptional from start to finish. From the very beginning he was clear, honest and incredibly supportive. He explained every stage of the process in a way that was easy to understand, making what could have been a very overwhelming situation feel manageable and transparent.

Communication has been excellent throughout. Tom has always been open and responsive to emails and calls, and no question has ever felt too small or too much trouble for him to help with.

He has also been incredibly efficient and proactive, handling every stage of the case with professionalism and successfully securing my claim. His advice and guidance have always been realistic, straightforward and reassuring, which I truly appreciated.

Tom also showed genuine understanding and compassion regarding the anxiety I experienced during the process. Knowing that travelling was difficult for me both medically and due to anxiety, he very kindly travelled to meet me rather than expecting me to make the 1.5-hour journey to him. That level of understanding and consideration meant a great deal.

Going through a medical claim can feel daunting, but Tom’s professionalism, patience and dedication made the process far less overwhelming. I truly cannot speak highly enough of him or Leigh Day.

If you are looking for a solicitor who is knowledgeable, professional, compassionate and genuinely committed to his clients, I would wholeheartedly recommend Tom Perry and Leigh Day without hesitation. Mesothelioma diagnosis

Following my husbands mesothelioma diagnosis we were advised by contact Leigh Day with regard to a compensation claim. Throughout the process Kevin Johnson and his team were in regular contact and explained the convoluted process in clear layman terms. Throughout the ordeal Kevin was professional and knowledgeable and kept us updated regularly even with the time differences. It was a complicated and on occasions grueling experience but Kevin was always patient, compassionate and understanding. We would have no hesitation in recommending Kevin and his team.

Excellent, professional service.

From the very start Leigh Day were extremely professional and very understanding with my Dads claim. Kevin Johnson represented my Dad and he was knowledgeable and very compassionate to my Dads needs. Rachel, Sarah and Cherry assisted Kevin and they were also professional and put us at ease and kept us updated throughout the whole process which ended in a very positive outcome.

The medical negligence team for spinal…

The medical negligence team for spinal injuries based in Manchester are my heroes.

I felt absolute confidence in the way they looked after me, how they investigated my treatment, the negligence they found to have occurred and the outcome for my health and mobility.

The team were so easy to talk to, not condescending or patronising. I broke down in tears many times as to how the treatment I received had devastated both my life and that of my family. They were so understanding.

Their medical knowledge is outstanding. Enabling them to ascertain and prove where my medical treatment failed and confirmed my suspicions that something wasn’t right.

I have already recommended Leigh Day to friends who needed legal advice and will continue to do so.

The settlement I eventually received, was more than 8 times the amount I was initially offered.

I cannot thank them enough for everything they did for me any my family.

One way street

I have been part of the Jaguar Land Rover Diesel Particulate Filter Claim group action since 2024. At the end of 2025 I purchased a Range Rover in addition to my Land Rover vehicle. I specifically bought the vehicle having suffered from cancer, going through major surgeries, and having a resultant hernia. These Land Rover vehicles have a high enough seating position that I can comfortably drive with what is classed and recognised as a disability.

I wasn't at all sure if the Range Rover used the same DPF system that my Land Rover had, given that it is a completely different model and later year. I am not an expert in these matters. So I wrote to Leigh Day to ask them. After over a week of waiting and wondering if anyone was going to have the courtesy to respond, I finally got a response, but it was complete and utter nonsense. It stated that they were not able to onboard my Land Rover that had been included in the claim since 2024! The message specifically referred to the registration number of that car, and made no reference whatsoever to the new one. This caused me huge distress, and I found the email frankly shocking! The end of the email also stated that the same car that they said they were unable to onboard was included in the group action. I responded to the message with a considerable level of disappointment, referring to it as 'incompetence', and stating in no uncertain terms that the person who sent it was not fit to do their job. I asked that the matter be passed on to someone more capable, and I referred again to the level of incompetence filling me with dread, that I would be making a complaint, and I copied the response into Leigh Days alleged complaints partner.

Having in the past been a legal PA myself, I was held to extremely high standards of performance, where basic and avoidable mistakes were simply not tolerated. I was stunned then to receive an acerbic and angrily written email from someone else (not even the alleged complaints partner to whom my email had been copied), who went into something of a rant about them not tolerating abuse. Sadly, there was not one vestige of apology for the delay in responding or stress caused to me, in fact, on the contrary, I was threatened that they would terminate my agreement with them to pursue my claim if I sent them any more of this type of email. The gentleman then stated that their colleague had been correct (when they simply had not been), and also stated that I knew about the DPF issues before buying the new car. As I have stated, I knew nothing of the sort, and I bought the car specifically for medical reasons, because I have surgical injuries caused by cancer and subsequent surgeries.

Then, Leigh Day sent me a link to a questionnaire for the claim, twice. When I tried to complete the questionnaire, it asked if I had experienced any issues with the DPF system, which I had. The questionnaire asked when this was, and offered a list of years from 2017 to 2023. I experienced issues in 2024, so I was unable to factually complete the questionnaire. Fearing being assaulted again for writing to them, I called their office, and nobody was available to speak to me, so I asked that someone call me back. I had completed all of the questionnaire and just left the year field to complete, but by the end of the working day, the questionnaire reset, and all my entries that I spent considerable time and effort completing, just vanished...
So, reluctantly I again wrote to them, and again copied in the alleged complaints partner to make a complaint, and I questioned the complaints process because of my prior experience where I had made a complaint, all be it somewhat poorly worded and irate, and I stated that I now feared the consequences.

Unfortunately, I have again not yet had the basic courtesy of a response. I am extremely disappointed that Leigh Day see fit to treat claimants with apparent contempt, and take no responsibility for the distress that they cause, chosing instead to launch thoroughly unpleasant assaults on those who express disdain and complain. There would also appear to be an unfortunate culture of assumption about claimants knowledge (regarding which vehicles have which DPF system), and there appears to be an absence of consideration for the circumstances that claimants may have (like their choice of vehicle based on disability). My experience has been extremely poor, and it would appear to be a one way street where it is acceptable to Leigh Day that claimants are treated very badly indeed, while Leigh Day has a zero tolerance policy on being treated badly. The irony that seems to escape Leigh Day is, had Leigh Day responded to my enquiries without undue delay, and then without outrageous error and misinformation, I would not be at all disappointed or unhappy about the service.

Professional, objective and grounded legal advice

Scott from LeighDay provided invaluable guidance and support throughout this lengthy claims process. Specifically, following a dog attack, by a German Shepherd and subsequent infection/s, coupled with leg surgery and permanent scarring; LeighDay helped guide me through the claims process. They helped me achieve a fair settlement.
