Another Abandoned Backer

Edit: The complimentary upgrade they're "offering" me is really just the same thing as version 1 + a bunch of "extra" things that they made me pay extra to add to the first version while I was waiting for delivery because they realized the thing was kinda useless with these pieces. Also they're not even able to ship me that right now either lol.

I backed the project on Kickstarter 4 years ago. There were ~2 years of delays due to design issues, and delays related to COVID and their ability to get the parts they needed. This is normal Kickstarter stuff and everyone was chill. Then, unprompted, they offered refunds to backers that they could not yet deliver to. They continued to tell us to wait for the refund for another year. Then, they said they could only provide a 60% refund. Whatever, better than nothing at this point. They told me the refund was already being processed. Nothing happened again and after several follow ups and a year later, they said they could now ship to my NA location (doubtful, apparently I'm on an "upcoming fulfilment" list still 4 years later). And, since they can now ship, I am no longer eligible for a refund!

Obviously I don't have the dishwasher and cannot speak to its performance but if you read through the comments on Kickstarter and Reddit, etc., even the happiest of customers still end up getting rid of this because a) it's not as compact as they describe, but b) somehow still can't fit the items they said can fit in it (such as pots and pans or large dinner plates), or c) it just doesn't work, needs parts replaced, etc. On their own website even the pictures from satisfied customers show a few dishes and a single cup fitting into the dishwasher on a run.

Product seems garbage, customer service has been atrocious, team has just lied and shifted blame to the people who gave them money to make the product instead of fulfilling their promises.

If you still want to buy a dishwasher from these folks I wish you the best of luck.

Loch's Capsule dishwasher was delivered…

Loch's Capsule dishwasher was delivered a few months later than advertised on Kickstarter, and at a significantly increased cost.

Only a week after receiving, my machine ran into multiple issues with ghost touches being registered by the control panel and washes ending early without drainage.

After a rigmarole involving trying to video the issues, I was initially advised to turn on child lock and turn off sound to work around these issues. I advised that this alone wasn't appropriate for a brand new, £300 product. Loch then advised me to open the machine to check for any physical or water damage and to reposition some rubber seals. This did nothing to help and Loch then advised that I could return the device for repair at my own cost or receive a few replacements parts to install myself.

I was unable to obtain appropriate boxing to return the product so I begrudgingly accepted replacement parts, and will update accordingly.

Because of these issues, i've not used the dishwasher in a few weeks. Despite this, the paint printed buttons are now peeling off.

The lack of quality control is really disappointing as the dishwasher seems like a game changing addition to my very small kitchen.

My experience is this is a scam

Backed a project on Kickstarter in September 2024, received advice in January that it was being shipped 'very soon'. I have contacted them twice regarding where it was and I receive platitudes about their excitement and how excited I will be when it arrives. Having been on the edge of my seat for several months and their refusals to respond to my emails asking for a shipping update or refund I can only conclude I have just been the victim of a scam. Please do not send these people any money.

Very satisfied

First off about the negative comments.... everyone has different experiences but regarding this most recent campaign, Loch communicated shipping would be delayed, and there would be additional cost. They then gave folks the option to cancel. I received mine in late Feb 2025. The first few runs it kept erroring out (E4 error). After some communication with customer service I realized I had not properly tightened the dirty water hose and it was leaking into the machine. Tightened it and I've used it dozens of times successfully since then.

The machine is perfect for me, I live alone though my son comes on the weekends. I run it once or twice a day and it's a dream, the dishes come out sparkling. Plus it's supposed to be more efficient (time and water) than hand washing. Overall very satisfied with the product and the customer service, in my experience, was helpful (1 response a day, I think they were in a different time zone?). I hope to be using this thing for many years to come!

If I could give zero I would

If I could give zero I would. Bought in June of 2024 and still nothing. Shipping was included but then I was requested to pay another £60 for shipping.

I queried why and was told international shipping costs were expensive. I queried why I was being charged international shipping when im in the same country as Loch. They didn't answer. I finally got a tracking number in January. Nothjng has turned up and it's mid February. Queried it and got a lot of word salad.

Turns out they drop ship from China. No wonder so many are broken and they aren't able to take them back to fix them. They make no mention of this but heavily push them being a Scottish company.

I've been totally misled by them. Now I've got the ordeal of getting a refund from them which won't be easy looking at other reviews.

An awful, duplicitous company avoid at all costs

As clarified to you via email, Loch is a registered Scottish company and the creator of Capsule. We own the patents, and developed the designs and tooling here in the UK, and while manufacturing takes place in China (as it does for many leading brands), the entire process is managed by our team. We are not a dropshipping company.

Not only a great product but The Service is Awesome

A little background, I have a very small kitchen... So space is at a premium.. I love cooking and I also, dislike "Cleaning the Dishes"... Although when I was a kid this was my "Job" after dinner (We had a Large Family) I became fanatical about having Clean Dishes.

As an adult I am also fanatical about having Clean Dishes and having a Tidy Kitchen.

I purchased the Loch (Means Lake in Scotland) Capsule about a year ago. I love it...

I did have a recent problem where the UV Light was not working... part ordered and I installed it.

Loch Electronics, was able to turn this moment of Misery into a Moment of Magic.

My Capsule is working perfectly again.

Gets the dishes really clean

Gets the dishes really clean. Lite to carry and store away. I love that it does not need to connect to faucet. I do wish it would get dishes more dry. And please make a different discharge hose that is more flexible. All this one does is want to point at the sky and cannot bend to the shape I need it too.

You suck

You suck. You advertise a machine that does not allow you to be disconnected. Then, on the other part you obfuscated and never game the missing part. Before you say I need to buy it. There were 32 parts missing you evil SOB. . You only addressed 1 item. You are con artists. I will do everything I can, which is not much, but you will have an enemy. You are corrupt. I'm

Fab little dishwasher-original backer

I am aware of the issues other customers have faced and I do feel for them, however I can't really fault the Loch Team or the product really. I was an original backer and, yes while there was a delay in the final product being completed, I think people forget that there was a pandemic and there is always a risk of delay etc when supporting a start up. I can only speak from my experience with the Loch Team but I have honestly found the customer service to be outstanding. I have had a couple of minor issues with the dishwasher over the last two years I've owned it which the Loch Team have resolved for me, no questions asked. I will also say that one of the issues was probably my fault but they were so kind and helped me out straight away.

I bought it to fit in my campervan build but have been using it in my house until that is complete. It washes the dishes well and I am satisfied with it. I already had a desktop dishwasher from a different company, but it wasn't suitable for my van as it used too much electricity. This one doesn't and its ideal for off grid living as it doesn't use a lot of water either. I've tested it in my campervan and couldn't be happier with how well it works.

I should also say that my previous desktop dishwasher from a different company completely stopped working within a year and I had to get an entire replacement which cost around £250. The Loch however, has lasted a lot longer and the fact that there is a support team is an added plus. There was no support team for the previous dishwasher and no replacement parts.

The shape of the Loch allows me to PUT PANS IN, which my old desktop washer from a different company didn't.

I had this dishwasher when I lived with my ex and found that it was just the right size. I honestly look at household dishwashers now and and just think about how enormous they are when they really don't need to be.

Overall very satisfied so far, a couple of years in ( I think, can't remember the actual date I received it but it seems quite a while).

Would I recommend? Yes I would and I have. Especially for those living in their van or for people renting their home. I would however exercise caution, not based on my experience, but having read the not so good experiences of others, which again I cannot say has been my experience at all.

I have zero complaints and am very happy with the product and the customer service.

I love my tiny dishwasher!

I have very limited counter space, and this was the only small dishwasher I could find that would fit. There's only two people in my house so I hoped this dishwasher would work for us. It fits a surprising amount, and i love that I can just fill the tank and run a fast load. It has helped so much with the overwhelm I feel about doing the dishes, and it's keeping my sink empty. I love it!

Returns and fault resolution

I received an appliance with a broken plug. Trying to get this resolved is overly complicated including asking me to send video of the fault during operation after photos of the broken plug have already been provided. In order to return the capsule, a heavy item, I am expected to take it to a shipping centre myself.

Just not worth the hassle if you receive a faulty item.

The capsule is okay

The capsule is okay. It's not great, constantly having to figure out what went wrong because it just errors out without any idea of what happened. The amount of stuff you can put in it is definitely not like the picture unless you have the perfectly sized dishes to fit.

On the positive it fits on the counter and does wash dishes. It was easy setup.

Paid and never got the product

In 2021, I contributed to the initial Kickstarter campaign led by Team Loch. Shortly after, the project team realized that shipping to certain countries like mine is nearly impossible (or very expensive). As a result, they requested an additional shipping fee, bringing my total payment to £332. However, team Loch later acknowledged that the shipping costs were too high and offered a refund at the campaign's end. The refund never arrived.

What makes this worse is that Team Loch has been ignoring emails ever since, refusing to resolve these issues. Instead, they have launched a new campaign, which gives the impression of a scam. It feels like they collected peoples money under false pretenses, only to admit later that the product can never be delivered.
It shows bad costumer service and lack of due diligence in researching shipping logistics before accepting backers money.

Worst Customer Service No Response

My order has still not arrived. I placed my order on the 19th July and my parcel is still in customs. This is the worst service I have ever come across. Nobody picks up the number displayed on their website, I think that number is just for show. This company is based in Edinburgh so I’m not sure why my order is coming in from China. I would never waste my money on this company EVER AGAIN - they haven’t even given me back my refund for the delivery I had to pay. Appalling!
