Just wanted to leave a review for Mak for his excellent and honest customer service at no doubt a very difficult time. I purchased the rugged phone for my husband and when it arrived we were very happy with the phone, but unfortunately due to our area having very bad signal, the phone struggled to pick up much more than about 1 bar, which led to poor or no connection, I explained all to Mak who was kind enough to give us a full refund even though the phone was now in a used condition, but did not hesitate or argue. Not many businesses these days with that kind of customer care. Very appreciated and wish you all the best in a very difficult unpredictable future

I have just had my rugged rhino three returned to me having cracked the tempered glass screen protector due to me taking a heavy fall. I had Mak to take a look at my phone and to replace the tempered glass screen protector. He let me know that the tempered glass did it's job, protecting the phone. Very happy with the advice I got from Mak and his family business speed of service . A trustworthy company, knowledgeable and I highly recommend looking at this small family business if your looking at getting a tough reliable phone. Very happy, Thank you .

In these days of apathy this company is the very opposite and stands head and shoulders above all I have dealt with regarding customer satisfaction. Mak is a top bloke and replied to my mails in an hour as opposed to days or weeks! I received my phone in record time and any questions I had were dealt with efficiently and satisfactorily.
This really is an excellent company and I would definitely recommend them. Customer satisfaction is their speciality.

It was reading other stories of excellent customer service that was a big part of my choosing this company to buy a phone from - and I wasn't sorry that I did.

Within minutes of sending a web message about a problem with my phone they phoned my back, and a warranty replacement battery arrived in the post less than 24 hours later.

I've had my Scorpio about 6 months now. I needed to ask Mantistech a couple of questions, and to echo what others have said, they are great to deal with. Good answers, phone you back, etc etc. Highly commended.
I was attracted by the "Rugged" idea because I use my phone and camera when climbing and mountaineering and for years I've used an extremely rugged Samsung C3350 -- (a choc-bar phone).
The Scorpio is a nice weight and feels good in the hand. The screen is clear and texting is a big improvement. The phone does have a torch, although this is not obvious and not mentioned in the description or handbook. I like the clock and the alarm clock. I have not immersed it in water or dropped it hard, but it's comforting to know that it will work when wet, etc. In ordinary use, the phone seems pretty similar to other smart-phones. The Android system can be fiddly, doing unwanted things upon an accidental touch. Personally I'd welcome an ability to optionally simplify this and freeze it. The battery life seems to be as good as can be expected from a smartphone. No-where near as good as the 3-4 WEEKS on the C3350, but it can last out a weekend if I don't overdo the useage /photos.
Out of the box, the first things I wanted to do were to transfer my contacts (different size SIM) and connect to my laptop to download a personal ring tone and alarm tone, and upload photos. The handbook doesn't give any guidance on these processes, which proved to be neither intuitive nor obvious.
My disappointment is around using the camera in outdoor activities.
I think many people nowadays expect to normally take photos on their phone, not using a separate camera. In "rugged" situations, it is necessary to (a) take pictures with one hand only ('cos you might be holding onto a rope or a map with the other) (b) have the device secured (ie lanyard) so that it doesn't drop down a cliff -- or over the side of a ship (c) have a camera which works quickly to capture a fleeting pose or moment. (d) operate the camera with a gloved hand. (e) We also like group summit photos using a mini-tripod and self timer -- which requires a screw mount.
The Scorpio has none of these capabilities.
I got via Ebay a very good adhesive pad with thumb ring, so I can attach the camera. I have disabled the lock screen for speed. However the Scorpio design doesn't allow quick photos with one hand, the buttons are small and fiddly (form triumphing over function) and the software can easily shift to video mode or settings mode when you don't want it to. I do think that the product could easily have been designed to include a camera for "Rugged": use rather than just a photo function on a phone. It would be so much more complete with (i) an enlarged case grip for single hand, (ii) big coloured shutter button (iii) simplified camera programme (iv) lanyard stanchion (v) thread for screw mount.
In the meantime, I've given up. Back to Ebay, and I've bought an old compact digital camera for less than £5. It has all the capabilities I've mentioned, though it's not waterproof. I'd love to have it all in one rugged device though. I wish Mantistech every success as they go on to develop the product.

Was very cynical of this company as I had never heard of it. But how wonderful it is when my cynicism is proved totally unfounded! Can't praise Mak enough & am very pleased with the phone I bought, Rhino 3. Ticks every box I wanted. Offer of more support if needed as new to smart phone technology, total customer care. My business will always come to Mantistech from now on. Companies who care are few & far between, but this is one of those few

Thank you so much for your help the other day with our dilemma of what mobile to replace our lost CAT phone with!? Being used in an engineering workshop environment something that is durable, can withstand dust and rings loudly is really important. And although only a day or so in I think the Ruggex Rhino N is a great alternative. It certainly rings louder, is simple to use, has a larger screen and appears generally easier to navigate! So far so good. I must also add that it was reassuring to be able to speak to someone at the end of a phone who demonstrated product knowledge with honesty. Faultless customer service. Thank you all round.

I've had an excellent experience with Mantis Tech!

I am very happy with my Rhino 2 tough phone and belt pouch. The phone's specification and quality were ideal for my purposes as an outdoorsman and wilderness survival enthusiast. The phone has been taken on two trips to Finnish Lapland (above the Arctic Circle), in October 2017 and March 2018 and performed flawlessly at all times, taking lots of high quality photos and video clips of the winter forest environment up there and enabling me to access the internet far away from the nearest population centre. It is very confidence inspiring to have the phone in its pouch on my belt wherever I go. I like the pleasing functional aesthetic of the phone too-form follows function!. Not only the phone, but the belt pouch are of high quality, at a very reasonable and affordable price. Perhaps best of all is Mak's customer service and support. Prompt, courteous, efficient and professional at all times-very confidence inspiring. Mak's integrity shines through. This company is a class act.

Prompt service. Goods despatched in a timely manner and included everything as described in the advert. No issues with the product, so no rwason to check their returns or support service yet!
