We recently booked a full after-builders clean in Ipswich and I can say, without hesitation, that the entire experience exceeded expectations from start to finish.
From the outset, the booking process was refreshingly straightforward. Everything was clearly laid out, easy to understand, and handled with impressive efficiency. There was no unnecessary back-and-forth, no ambiguity—just a smooth, well-organised system that made securing the appointment effortless. In an industry where communication can often be patchy at best, this was a real standout.
Communication throughout was equally excellent. Every query was responded to promptly and professionally, and we were kept fully informed at each stage. It gave a strong sense that this is a company that values both its time and the customer’s—something that is increasingly rare.
As for the clean itself, the results were nothing short of superb. Anyone who has dealt with post-construction dust and debris will understand just how stubborn and pervasive it can be. Yet the team tackled it with absolute precision and care. Every surface was left immaculate—cupboards, skirting boards, fixtures, fittings—nothing was overlooked. The attention to detail was exceptional, and the property was transformed from a building site into a pristine, move-in-ready space.
What also deserves special mention is the value for money. Given the scale of the task and the standard of finish achieved, the pricing was more than fair—indeed, very competitive. It is clear that this company has struck that rare balance between high-quality service and sensible pricing.
All in all, this was a thoroughly professional, well-executed service delivered by a team that clearly knows exactly what they are doing. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone requiring an after-builders clean, and we will certainly be using them again in the future.

Now my flat is clean, there's loads of space and it smells lovely.
It was well worth the money because I would never have been able to do it myself and my mental health and addiction problems would probably have resurfaced.
I'm a happy and less anxious bunny.

I had to arrange an extreme cleaning service for a relative in the UK who had fallen into very difficult circumstances managing their home. It’s a large, older house and had become extremely cluttered, so this was not a straightforward job.
I reached out to Mel’s Cleaning and was impressed by how quickly they responded. As I’m based in the US, I expected it to be complicated, but everything was handled smoothly and professionally from start to finish.
What stood out most was their understanding and completely non judgmental approach toward my relative. They treated the situation with genuine care and respect, which meant a great deal.
The team who carried out the work did an amazing job, and the office staff were consistently helpful and reassuring throughout.
I’m very grateful for their help and would absolutely recommend Mel's Cleaning to anyone needing this kind of service.

I recently used this company for a full clean ahead of a new tenancy and unfortunately had a disappointing experience.
The clean was booked as an end-of-tenancy service, and I had clarified in advance that the property was a new build requiring a post-construction clean. I was advised this would be fine within the booked time.
On inspection, there were a number of areas that had not been cleaned to the standard I would expect, including visible dust and debris in cupboards, marks and residue on surfaces, and general finishing issues throughout. I raised several points at the time, some of which were addressed while I was present, but others only became more apparent on closer inspection afterwards.
I also noted concerns regarding damage and marks to finishes that were not present prior to the clean, which has since required rectification.
During the clean, I observed the team wearing outdoor shoes throughout the property, including on new carpets and flooring, without protective covers. For a new build property, I would expect this basic standard to be followed, and this contributed to my concerns around debris being spread during the clean.
The company’s position is that I signed a satisfaction form on the day and that this constitutes full acceptance of the work. While I understand their reliance on this, I did note outstanding snags at the time and did not feel the subsequent complaints process fully took into account the detail and evidence I provided.
I would expect the company may respond to dispute this review, however this is an accurate reflection of my experience.
As a landlord, I have used a number of end-of-tenancy cleaning services previously, and this service did not meet the standard I have experienced with other providers.
Overall, I did not feel the service met the expected standard for this type of clean, and I was disappointed with how the complaint was handled. I will not be using this company again.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this service.

The men came in and spent the whole time doing exactly what they were supposed to do. Very focused, very disciplined. They respected my instructions and were very polite. Couldn't have done a better job. We're very grateful and very happy to recommend them.

What a great job of the deep clean of the house Mel’s team did. Very happy with everything, even the fridge and oven came up like new, which was amazing. Thomas, Freddie and Leo were very thorough, polite and friendly. I was concerned about paying upfront but it was fine. There was good communication with Mel’s throughout. I would definitely use this company again.

Highly recommend this company - very professional and worth every penny. They arrived exactly when they said they would and got far more done in the time than I had expected. AVOID AT ALL COST. Paid £450 for an end of tenancy clean. The house is still filthy. Not sure if they know what a hover is. Fridge not cleaned. Conservatory not cleaned. Cupboards not cleaned. I have sent pictures to get an email back basically saying tough luck. I have sent pictures and told they aren’t good enough quality to back my case. Told me there’s nothing else they will do and the matter is closed not offered to come back nothing. I will be going down the legal route to get funds back as landlord refusing to take house back until re cleaned so got to pay another company.

This to me shows exactly who you are as a company. You showed up over an hour and a half late I had to contact you to find out where you were. My client paid for an 8 hour clean you weren’t there 8 hours as you didn’t arrive until nearly one and magically at 8:04 you text me to say you were done. My client has 3 young children so how do you expect her to go to the house at that hour where you were meant to arrive at 10? The pictures I re sent you (you fail to mention this) clearly show that it hadn’t been cleaned. Also I was unable to download the pictures you sent so clearly a problem your end. Why not be normal and send the pictures in an email not using ‘collect’. Regarding the conservatory I specifically requested in my first correspondence with you that the conservatory roof blinds are cleaned so surely you would think that would mean above head high?
I have summarised the shocking service from you in this review not gone into every last detail. Yes I sent every single one of those text messages (great that you have the time to copy and paste every single one, breach of confidentiality there as I hadn’t given you permission to share my messages with the world). Also seems that we are not the only people who have had bad service from you. Upstairs was absolutely fine which is why I didn’t make one comment about upstairs did I? Also finding it a little suspicious that for a ‘large’ company you don’t have a phone number that actually lets you talk to a member of your staff just an automated message sending you to your website. Thanks to your useless staff my client is going to have to pay someone else to clean what you clearly couldn’t be bothered to.

We needed a last minute mental health deep clean. Life had been lifing and we needed help.
Communication was excellent from the first contact, to the end. They were supportive in ensuring we could access the services they offered.
On the day two wonderful gentlemen turned up.
They worked hard throughout their allotted time.
They were fast but didn’t let speed affect their thoroughness
We never felt judged everyone from my first email to the gents leaving were professional and kind.
It was difficult for us to reach out for help, we just wish we’d done it sooner.
We will be using them again in the future.
We fully recommend anyone who needs extra help but is embarrassed please don’t be reaching out was the best thing we did. Thank you all at Mel’s cleaning.

I booked a 16-hour deep clean and organisation service with Mel’s Cleaning and was left extremely disappointed. While the carpet cleaning was well done and the cleaners were polite and friendly, the rest of the service fell far below expectations.
Despite providing written instructions and drawer organisers, only one wardrobe and a couple of drawers were organised — nowhere near what was agreed. The oven was left in poor condition (despite being included in the scope), mirrors and shower screens were streaky, and a shower door was left not closing properly. I also specifically asked for the bathroom grout to be cleaned, which was completely missed.
I was working late and couldn’t be home to check the clean in person — but the team also left an hour early and leaving me no chance to go through the walk through.
When I raised these issues with the company, they dismissed my concerns, denied responsibility, and refused to offer any form of resolution. Their reply leaned heavily on their terms and conditions, ignoring the fact that much of the work simply wasn’t completed.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, all services in the UK must be carried out with reasonable care and skill and match what was promised. That legal responsibility doesn’t disappear just because the customer isn’t present at the end. What I received was rushed, incomplete, and handled poorly when I raised concerns.
I paid a premium price expecting a thorough and professional service. Sadly, this experience has left me feeling disappointed and let down. I would not recommend Mel’s Cleaning based on this

I want to clarify that I only left this review after waiting for a reply to my most recent email, which I am still waiting on. Your last email indicated you didn't want to communicate further. It’s disappointing to receive a detailed public response here before receiving any further communication directly.
While you have highlighted the grout cleaning point, that was just one of several areas I was unhappy with. I raised it with the team in person on the day, but more broadly, the organisation of drawers and wardrobes, oven cleaning, and finishing details like mirrors were not completed to the standard I was expecting from a deep clean.
I also have photographic evidence showing that key parts of the service outlined in the booking confirmation were not fulfilled. It seems there may be a difference in expectations around what a “deep clean” includes, but I based mine on the scope provided and the time booked.
Throughout this process, I’ve tried to communicate politely and constructively. I believe a partial refund would have been a fair and reasonable resolution. Unfortunately, due to the lack of a satisfactory response or resolution, I’m now considering pursuing the matter through small claims court.
I’m not someone who takes to reviews to deface a company without just cause — in fact, I likely would have left a positive review had my emails been properly acknowledged and some accountability taken.

If I could give this company and especially Fred and Leon a million stars I would, these two extremely professional kind, non judgemental men have literally changed my life in a day, they turned up on time sat where they could and worked out a plan to transform my flat from un-livable to a home, every step of the way they involved me, fyi they travelled from Luton to Chester with 12 hours notice actually 2 of the funniest people I have met and the first time I have smiled and laughed in 2 years, they are absolutely amazing, I can not recommend this company enough, they have an amazing very quick service and the workers literally do not leave anything not cleaned, these two have helped me so much with my mental health and I can finally live my life properly, there will never be enough words to thank Mel and her team, really life changing and life saving, I could go on for hours, again thank you you don't know what you actually did for me xxxx
