Newson Clinic was founded in 2018 by Dr Louise Newson and Dr Rebecca Lewis to improve access to evidence-led, individualised hormone healthcare for women. The clinic supports women across the UK through face-to-face and virtual appointments. Newson Clinic provides specialist guidance for women experiencing symptoms associated with perimenopause, menopause and other hormone-related conditions, including PMS, PMDD, postnatal depression, PCOS/PMOS and endometriosis. The clinic has extensive experience supporting women whose symptoms affect mood, memory, sleep and energy to joint health, libido, relationships, work and overall wellbeing. Newson Clinicâs clinicians take time to understand each womanâs symptoms, medical history, priorities and previous treatment. Treatment plans are tailored to the individual and may include bioidentical (body identical) hormone treatment, lifestyle advice, blood tests and further investigations where clinically appropriate. They also support women with complex medical histories, women seeking a second opinion and those already using hormone treatment who may wish to optimise their plan. Treatment is continuously reviewed according to individual response, rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. Newson Clinic actively funds and contributes to research studies in womenâs hormone health, using patient-reported data from its clinics and collaborating with external researchers and academic institutions to investigate symptoms, treatment response and longer-term health outcomes. Appointments are available online and at our clinics in Stratford-upon-Avon, London and Hale, Cheshire. For appointments or patient support, call 01789 595004, email info@newsonhealth.co.uk or visit www.newsonhealth.co.uk.

Thankyou so much to the Doctor at Newson Health for listening and helping me with my menapause.I feel alot more positive and for that I am grateful.

Before I first went to Newson Health, I had seen an NHS gynaecologist following unexplained bleeding on HRT and very low energy levels. I was told there there was nothing of concern and that my HRT dose should be reviewed.
I decided to consult Newson Health, as different options for HRT on the NHS are limited in my area.
Newson Health suggested changes to my HRT dose. I changed from combined patches to oestrogen only patches, progesterone tablets and testosterone gel. Six months on, I have had no further bleeding and my energy levels have greatly improved.
Iâve had a couple of blood tests at Newson Healthâs Stratford clinic. I explained that I was nervous and had a history of failed blood tests. The nurses at Newson Health were kind and patient. They put me at ease and got a vein successfully first time.
I have felt listened to and understood in all my experiences with Newson Health.

The Newson Earth Angels, saving lives every day.
I was miserable, I was on the verge of taking my life, fat, miserable, no libido, hair falling out, complete personality change, I was so moody and Iâd completely lost my ability to connect with living creatures. There was no longer any point to my life.
Thanks goodness I saw Dr Louise Newson on tv and gave it a try. I had thought I was âtoo youngâ for menopause, turns out the perimenopause misery can begin long before menopause.
I can not even begin to express my gratitude for these literal Earth Angels, thank you for stopping the nonsense of âjust powering throughâ that isnât possible, no wonder so many women are living in misery and despair and everyone who loves them no doubt too.
They are raising retirement age but wonât give us the hormones we need and deserve to maintain our quality of lives. How much more productive could we be if we were all given the hormones we need?! Particularly testosterone for both men and women!
My testosterone level was so low it was undetectable in my blood test. I felt so physically weak and exhausted along with all the other horrendous symptoms Iâve mentioned.
Thank you Newson Earth Angels for literally giving me my life back, I will be eternally grateful to all of you.
PS. Hope itâs ok for me to say - For those women taking HRT and not yet feeling better, it can take a long time to bring your levels up to where they need to be and you can still feel dreadful at times during this process but if you use a chaste berry (agnus castus) supplement, this balances your hormones and makes the transition much quicker. You can get it on Amazon or in health food shops like Holland and Barrett ð«¶ð»

I received fantastic care from Newson Health for the supplementation of testosterone alongside oestrogen & progesterone - thank you to Dr Hollie Jackson for her care now my symptoms, health and overall wellbeing have significantly improved. My GP can now prescribe testosterone alongside my other HRT therefore the NHS now prescribes my HRT. Thank you again Hollie for the great care provided. ð«¶

A year ago I went to newson health as I was suffering from menopause symptoms quite badly- I have had breast cancer 6 years ago, and was told I couldnât take HRT by my oncologist, I made an appointment at the Newson clinic, I told the Dr I spoke to, that I couldnât take HRT, she then said yes I could, I still didnât want to take it, and asked for Testosterone, I didnât realise that testosterone is a hormone, but the Dr at Newson knew I didnât want to take any chances but still she prescribed this to me. After 2 days of taking it, I wanted reassurance from my oncologist, I rang him and was told on no account should I take it and stop immediately, which I did, I felt very worried and disappointed I then contacted Newson, explained what had happened and then was told that someone would call me back,
When they did, I explained that this shouldnât have been prescribed to me as the Dr knew I didnât want to take any chances with hormone therapy, I got all my money refunded but then had an hour long tel call with one of the directors who proceeded to tell me that I shouldnât have been told I canât have HRT, as itâs up to me to decide, I then asked whether they would take it when your oncologist says no- this was dismissed by Newson saying, many women are suicidal and this is their only chance, I then said but this wasnât me, at no point did I say I was suicidal, I feel very let down by this clinic, as the Dr had all my medical history, the consultation was fairly quick, I felt she wanted me to have HRT and would have given me anything I asked for without any discussion,

I was with Newsonâs Health for over two years and during the course of that time my health and wellbeing significantly declined. Iâve spent a huge amount of money I can ill afford with this clinic only to feel worse and I would strongly recommend other women to steer clear.
I have undoubtedly been unlucky with perimenopause, suffering severe symptoms, but Newsonâs strategy of continually increasing estrogen seriously backfired for me and left me feeling suicidal, severely anxious with debilitating, constant migraine.
In my view, this is an HRT clinic - not a menopause clinic. Despite what you see on social media, they donât treat women holistically at all. The doctors and nurses are heavily estrogen focused and donât individualise care for women with underlying conditions such as migraine in my case. In my last call with my Newsonâs GP in May, I felt dismissed and was rushed off the call after 30 mins despite paying £295 for a 45 min appointment. If you donât respond to their dosing, then youâre on your own and left to figure it out for yourself. They request blood tests if your symptoms arenât controlled which is expensive and pointless - especially as all my tests showed that I do absorb through the skin.
When I asked if I maybe needed more estrogen as I felt so awful, I was told they would have no issue with me going up from 200 to 300 mcg estrogen and I can honestly say it was the worst experience of my life. My body couldnât cope with that dose and I ended up feeling wired, exhausted as well as bleeding continuously. My own surgery insisted I go for a scan and it transpired I have fibroids and adenomyosis - both of which I donât believe I had prior to being on double the licensed dose of estrogen for over two years.
Iâm now working with my GP to lower by dose and gradually feeling better but my experience with Newsonâs was both disappointing and frightening. I strongly recommend seeking help elsewhere if you need private menopause care as my experience with Newsonâs was terrible. I had no idea I was putting my health at risk my being on such a high dose - they told me there was âno upper limitâ and âno evidence that it causes harmâ. I am sure I would be in a much better place now if I had stuck with the guidelines and increased my dose gradually but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I didnât feel the consultation was personalised to my needs as expected.Although I was asked by the admin team to complete three questionnaires prior to the consultation, the specialist, Donna, didnât refer to them. As the patient, I was given the responsibility of choosing a specialist from a long list. During the session, she seemed unconcerned about my symptoms and concerns and how they could be managed except by using HRT. I would have liked her to explain more fully the benefits and risks of taking HRT at my age, now 65. Her response was to say that women in their 70s and 80s take HRT. She began looking at the clock as I asked whether further information would be sent to me following the consultation. She advised me to use the Balance app only. Also when I asked about suitable physical exercises, she simply replied that I should expect a wider waistline at my age.
She said a letter would be sent to my GP and a copy sent to me within a couple of days.
As I heard nothing, I called Newson Health to follow this up. I received the letter a short time later, followed by my GP practice about 2 hours later. I doubt this would have happened if I had not called twice to follow up. The only real positives of the consultation are that Donna explained the symptoms would improve by six months although she didnât say whether I would need to take HRT indefinitely. She also suggested a testosterone test but didnât fully explain why I needed this. I feel very disappointed because the consultation was not the holistic approach I expected and does not reflect the cost of the session at £195.
It is noted that I have not received a response to the feedback I was asked to provide Newson Health after the session.

So far I've had nothing but a 5 star experience with Newson Health. The GP was on time, friendly and explained everything. We recapped on all points. It was my choice and that was clear, very empowering. I'd had a triage appointment with the NHS, lovely GP but not really with up to date knowledge of HRT. She had referred my case to a gynaecology team at a hospital. Will be interested to hear what they come back with.
All products where explained and shown to me, pro's and con's gone over. I understand that I can change the products and doses going forward. What to expect and when. At no point did I feel sold too or sold up. There was clarity on pricing for all products and services. I've decided on my course of action , a prescription was ready within the hour and products out in the post very soon after. Follow up Appointment is already booked. There were separate emails for the next stages, which I appreciated as it doesn't overwhelm you with information all in one email. I feel listened to, empowered and excited for this journey.
I've been treated like an adult in a friendly and professional manner. I feel confident that there will be great results.

My GP refused me HRT saying "No you can't have it, you'll get breast cancer. Go and do your research".
So I did and realised how little he knew about modern day HRT and Progesterone. However I still had to go to Newson Health to get HRT. I changed my GP and my new GP was critical that the menopause clinician had prescribed it without seeing me. Since then I have asked my new GP for testosterone to help with cognitive function. He said he could only prescribe it if I used it for a sexual relationship. (Nice guidelines) or I will get hair and a deep voice. So refused for telling the truth about what I wanted it for. Now I have to save again to go private. It will take ages for me to save up.

I have been under the care of Newson health for 6 months now and am feeling the benefits of the tailored HRT programme Iâve been put upon. The doctor I saw is an experienced GP with excellent knowledge of womenâs hormonal health and a thoughtful and caring approach. Before seeing her I was feeling low, like I was losing my mind regularly and my sleep patterns were horrendous. After a detailed consultation and follow up, Iâm feeling the benefits of a tailored HRT prescription, more like myself and sleep continuing to improve.
Thoroughly recommend this clinic. Womenâs hormone health needs elevation and specific interventions and this clinic offers that.

Newson Health were able to help me where no-one else could get to the bottom of my symptoms. My NHS GP had absolutely no clue and getting an appointment with Newson was exactly what I needed to fix everything. I learnt so much about perimenopause and feel completely looked after. The doctor I spoke to was caring and understanding, and I finally know why my HRT wasn't working, I wasn't absorbing it well through the gel.

After being prescribed HRT from my GP, which was a good experience, I used Newson Health Clinic (thankfully there are 2 near me) for a quick testosterone appointment. Everything was explained clearly and I completed some questionnaires about my symptoms and had a lengthy discussion with the consultant. After 3 months of treatment, another questionnaire, consultation, improved symptoms and a blood test to check all my levels of oestrogen and testosterone all within the normal range. Really pleased with improvement in symptoms - my brain function and decision making processes seem to be back to usual. Prescription is easy to process and repeat. This service should be available to all on the NHS, but in the meantime - thanks Newson Health!

After suffering from severe menopausal issues for years, I reached out to Newson Health in desperation. My mother had previously had hormonal related breast cancer so I was very wary about taking HRT at all. I had spoken numerous times to my own GP, then had also paid to see a private supposed menopause specialist. This resulted in me being over-prescribed HRT which made me feel even worse and caused significant weight-gain. I had almost given up hope when I decided to book an online consultation with a doctor at the Newson Clinic. After diligently listening to me ramble on for almost an hour with my 4 pages of notes, she immediately was able to diagnose that I had progesterone sensitivity, and recommended a course of HRT that would address my menopause symptoms whist also recognising the progesterone sensitivity. I was very sceptical at first, but have now been on HRT for a considerable time with no side effects, and my menopause symptoms have finally gone. Am very happy with the service provided, which for me has been worth every penny.

I'm 45 and have been really struggling with life in general. My symptoms weren't being recognised by my GP. I felt like everyday was a struggle to function, to think, to move and to care for my family.
I was recommended to Newson by a parent at school who I discovered had been similar.
3 months later and after blood tests I finally feel like I can function again. I thought I'd never go to the gym again but it's now a pleasure and not a chore.
For any woman feeling abnormal, feeling exhausted, feeling low and down I would thoroughly recommend. You'd pay for an MOT for your car in a heart beat. So why not your body. Your health is this most important thing and I'd recommend prioritising it. You'll never look back and the second lease of life you'll experience you will cherish.

Newson Health has saved my life. I had terrible menopausal symptoms and the clinicians I saw were highly trained and professional. I had my drugs tweaked and my doses changed and my symptoms have improved so much. My relationships are better and I am so much happier. They even treated my daughter for painful periods and she is now so much better. Thanks Dr Newson and all your amazing staff

Just had my 3rd annual appointment with Newson Health. Discovered at the outset of the call that my consultant has been made redundant and would be leaving before being able to do my follow-up. No communication from Newson Health. This is not the first time this has happened. Paid out alot of money and lost alot of time during the appointment trying to work out the logistics of how transfer of care will work. There is never any follow-up. Blood tests are not followed up on but prescriptions made assuming what the outcomes are. I just don't see how they can make sure people are safe. I can't even try to get continuity of care from the last doctor I saw at Newson Health as they'd made all the doctors they were making redundant sign a non-disclosure agreement to ban them from telling patients - even when patients ask!! That says it all I suppose - Newson Health are in it more for the money than patient care.
UPDATE:
Newson Health have replied to this review below. They seem to suggest this is being dealt with. The situation is just worse to be honest. I had a follow-up appointment with a 'senior' clinician who knew nothing about me or the issues I raised. She didn't seem to consider blood test follow-ups as important. She sent me a follow-up email after the appointment saying that Newson Health didn't think it important to tell people that their clinician didn't work there anymore, even though this eats up time we're paying for to have to go through everything again with a new person every time you go. To be fair to them they have refunded my fee and booked another appointment. This was then a farce as they sent all the wrong paperwork out. And then didn't reply to emails trying to sort it out. I'm afraid my faith in this organisation has not been rekindled. They don't seem to put patients first but are very good at marketing (£££). There are plenty of other providers out there on a Google search for 'private menopause clinics'.
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: follow-up appointment with yet another clinician who told me it was only advisable to do blood tests for one of the medications and that a blood test 'wasn't necessary'. Then followed it up with a letter saying blood tests were there to check safe levels. As this seemed contradictory I checked with the Menopause Society and with other providers. They all said that for that particular medication, responsible prescribers should be checking levels with blood tests. That has helped me make my decision. Goodbye Newson Health!!

Having researched providers for menopause care, I ultimately chose Newson Health who, based on their PR, position themselves as experts at this provision.
However, I have been left extremely disappointed. Having spent a small fortune (for me) for what I hoped would be personalised, quality advice and HEALTH care, I found this was not the case.
The reason I first reached out to NH was for help to understand my symptoms, what my specific needs were and therefore the appropriate treatment. However, what I received was a generalised response, which ultimately I feel my GP had
provided, or I could have found out for myself online if I had had the time.
My specific issues were extreme weight gain in a very short period of time, low mood and a sense that the HRT I had been prescribed by my GP was not working as well as it could. It had been just under 10 years since my last period, so was HRT even necessary; could some other issues be at play, and/or other forms of medication have been better suited for me? Something about the medication was actually compounding my symptoms, all of which I explained fully to the doctor I consulted with at NH.
There was no suggestion of a more holistic overview, or investigation of alternative treatments and therapies that may have been better suited for me. Instead, I had my medication increased, and prescribed testosterone cream at £100 a go.
Unfortunately, this was not helpful in improving my health issues, or value for money. In fact, the reverse happened with my feeling unwell and the need to stop taking the HRT, especially after blood tests showed that the testosterone levels were too high.
In the time since, I have dropped half stone in weight without any specific dietary or exercise changes, feel better and in a place where I can continue to reverse the effects of HRT, which appears to not have been suitable for me.
During my visits to the clinic in Stratford upon Avon, I experienced and observed the focus of the 'front of house' team being primarily about sales pitches and 'processing', rather than a genuine sense of care. Their subscription scheme was promoted as being a benefit, supposedly to help save money, but 3 tubes of the testosterone medication later, alongside the consultations and tests, added up to nearly £1000 without the results I was looking for, and leaving me with a terrible feeling of being duped.
I reached out to the admin team but am still awaiting a satisfactory response regarding the above.
A classic case of cynical commercialisation and (my?) being a victim of its (own) success?
Due to this experience, I can not recommend Newson Health.

Everything about Newson Health is excellent. The doctors put you at ease and explain everything clearly. It's easy to book blood tests and follow-up appointments. The admin staff always deal with prescription issues promptly and with great curtesy always reassuring you will not run out of medication. I just have total admiration for what this organisation has achieved in a few years, helping me and so many women who have been let down elsewhere.
