Custom Oakley Radar EV – Extremely Disappointing Quality & Service
I ordered a pair of custom Radar EVs with the following specification:
Frame: Fern Swirl
Etching: Custom (Mont Blanc font)
Icon: Gunmetal
Earsocks: Black
Lens: Prizm Tungsten Iridium Polarized
Leash: Large Black
Microbag: White Custom
Case: Gen2 Sport Case
Price: £224
Despite the premium price and the fact these were a fully customised order, the glasses arrived with multiple issues:
Poor frame finish with visible pitting in the paint
Rubber already peeling away from the frame
Damage to the lens edges straight out of the box
When I contacted customer service, the experience was just as disappointing. I was told:
“Customs can’t be returned.”
Then, “You can only have replacements on custom items, not a refund.”
Finally, “We’re sorry, you can have a refund.”
The online support was abrupt, unhelpful, and even ended chats before resolving anything.
I was also told the defects were “typical for that type of process”, which is simply not true. The finish looked amateur and clearly had no quality control before leaving the factory.
For £224, receiving glasses with this level of damage and poor workmanship is unacceptable. The product quality and the initial customer service response were both extremely disappointing.

Rechtswidriger Umgang mit Gewährleistungsansprüchen
Die Qualität meiner 250 Euro teuren Brille ist leider mangelhaft. Bereits nach kürzester Zeit löst sich die Beschichtung, Nasenpad ging nach wenigen Wochen tragen verloren.
Und los geht die Misere:
- Daraufhin einen Case bei Oakley eröffnen wollen;
- Support kontaktiert;
- Support verweist auf Serviceportal und fordert Eröffnung einer Supportanfrage dort - Ergebnis: Portal funktioniert nicht;
- Support erneut kontaktiert und um manuelle Aufnahme gebeten - das hat funktioniert;
- Oakley erkennt den Garantiefall an und bedauert, dass das Modell nicht mehr verfügbar sei und man mir eine Ersatzbrille anbietet.
- Ich lehne dankend ab, da die mir angebotene Brille leider deutlich zu klein für mich ist und bitte um Erstattung des Kaufbetrags.
- Oakley lehnt ab.
- Die letzten beiden Schritte wiederholen sich 3 mal
- In 6 Tagen läuft die von mir gesetzte Frist ab, dann gehts zum Anwalt.. wegen 250 Euro... nie wieder Oakley.
Fazit: Finger weg, Qualität und Preis stehen in keinem Verhältnis. Der Umgang seitens Oakley mit mangelnder Qualität der eigenen Produkte deutet für mich sehr stark auf einen strukturellen Mismatch zwischen Qualität und Preisgestaltung hin.

This is truly ridiculous! I had an eye surgery to remove a spot caused by sun exposure. I bought new Oakley wrap around sunglasses from the official Oakley website since my doctor told me always to wear protection outside. A month later I decided to test all my glasses using uv light and a $20 bill for their UV filter. I was shocked to find that the new Oakleys have zero UV filter and I was counting on them and wore them everyday after the surgery!!! It’s is unbelievable. So disappointed by Oakley. Every pair of glasses they send always have some defect (returned 3 pairs for defective lens of wrong prescription) but this takes the cherry- Useless “sun glasses”

I have had the worst possible experience with Oakley.com.
In December 2025, I purchased two sets of AI Oakley glasses and elected to collect the glasses from the Oakley store in Tysons, VA. I received confirmation of my order and then confirmation that the order was ready for collection - all within 2-3 days. Great, right? Wrong....
I arrived at the Tysons store located within the Mall only to find that the store was closed (as in under renovation). I immediately called Oakley and spoke to a person who apologized and, after discussing options with me, I decided to receive a refund.
It is now mid-April and I have called Oakley repeatedly over the past few months. All I get are apologies and referred to UPS (why?) to lodge a claim. I am distinctly under the impression that I have been scammed. So, still no resolution, no communication and no credit. My final option is to reach out to lawyer, which I will be doing shortly.
Positively shocking. PLEASE do not buy anything from Oakley. Please.

I work 3 jobs my wife has cancer and I can't feed my kids today because Oakley feel the need to make me jump threw hoops to get a refund from them.
I mistakenly ordered the wrong lenses for some sunglasses I had, I was initially very pleased to find the lenses on sale. I wanted new lenses so I can sell the glasses and put some food on the table as times are hard at the moment. They have been very unhelpful via customer services and even more unhelpful from the finance department.
Disappointed and left out of pocket.
Please don't respond saying email this address as I have given you every opportunity to sort this out. I will have to write this money off a put it down to a mistake.
I hope your happy with yourselves.

Need better customer service. I purchased a pair of glasses with the protection plan now I'm trying to use it and they are saying they refunded the protection plan I don't know why I never said I wanted a refund I wouldn't of purchased the plan if I didn't want it

Absolutely disgraceful customer service.
Submitted service request for sunglasses with 2 year warranty and it was returned saying out of warranty even though I attached the recent receipt.
You used to be able to speak to a real person but now you have to use their request system which is down so you can’t progress your issue. I really expected more of Oakley 😳

Well it started off getting ready for paired glasses so I started researching on what kind of frames I'd be looking for. Usually I get Oakley's typically I'm okay with them but recently this time I decided to do some more looking and I get on the website I seen that you can get a prescription glasses customized and I did even to my color that I would like so I take it to my doctors I let the secretaries do their thing on ordering them while I get exams done. When I get done I was told I'm not allowed to get him in the color. I would like I had to stick with one color and that was it. I didn't mind paying The difference after my insurance paid what they could but I didn't get that option. I even called spoke with somebody who told me that yes I can get them in those colors but may not happen with the insurance companies which don't make sense. So I stick with them and go with it as if I had no other choice. Now they're taking forever to give me my glasses way longer than expected because they screwed up something tells me they don't care and will not make it right. But I'll get my glasses and have to deal with them I'm sure. But I think this is a learning lesson to really consider changing from what I thought was a reputable good name brand company to somebody else that I can be more happier with. So I guess I got a year or at least to the end of 2026 to figure out another way of getting my glasses. It is what it is. I guess that's my luck gee. Thanks Oakley

Spent over 300$ on Oakleys. The frame snapped from normal use after one year and they would not stand behind there product. They offered 30% off next set. Complete garbage company and a lot better cheaper options out there

Very poor customer service
Very poor customer service, non existent really if having issues with replacement parts. Attitude is basically don’t care. Been a loyal customer but will be looking for a new brand now.

BUYER BEWARE OF OAKLEY. I bought a $300 pair of sunglasses. The tinting film is cracking, alligatoring around the edges and peeling off the lenses. Oakley is not standing behind their defective product and suggests that I buy another Oakley sunglass!

No Response, No Updates — Just Getting Fooled Around
I’ve been wearing Oakley prescription glasses for over a decade, always purchased from retail stores, and I’ve never had a single issue. This was my first time ordering directly from the Oakley website because I finally found a frame I really liked — and the experience has been extremely disappointing.
I followed the Geode sizing guide, but the frame ended up being too narrow. I first emailed Oakley on March 27th, and despite multiple follow ups, I still haven’t received a clear timeline or meaningful update. Customer Care approved a redo and said it was escalated, but weeks later there is still no confirmation on when the redo will be created or when production will begin.
I don’t want to wait anymore. I’m losing my patience, it’s been almost two weeks and I still haven’t heard anything from them. It really feels like I’ve just been fooled around this whole time.
To make things worse, these glasses were $578 after insurance, which makes the lack of communication and slow response even more frustrating. For a premium brand, I expected better service, especially after being a loyal customer for so many years. Not even a simple cleaning cloth was included.
I rely on my glasses for work and have been stuck using an old blurry backup pair while waiting. I had to return these prescription glasses. I just want my refund back at this point. This is not how you treat customers. I’m done with this experience and with doing business this way.

I like the sunglasses but for the price I wish the lenses wouldn’t scratch so easily.
Never been dropped just got these and somehow there is already a bunch of scratches in them you can see the scratches when you wear them.
You guys can do better for the price come on.

Oakley and UPS are a receipe for disaster
The 2 occasions I have ordered pairs of glasses from Oakley have resulted in them screwing up and delaying delivery.
They sent my recent parcel with half the address missing, which resulted in a 2 day delay on receiving the item via UPS, factoring in that it's taken them a week to dispatch the item. It'll be 10 days in total.
UPS don't handle issues very well and their system does not work very well with the app. Oakley needs to read a few of these reviews and make some changes. Y
Overall It's been another poor experience, and one that I don't expect from a large company like Oakley. They're consistently getting reviewed terribly and don't appear to bother addressing any of the feedback.

Less than one star!! I bought a very expensive pair of Half Jacket and in a month the lenses peeled and crackled. The store told me it was my fault because it was caused by the salt in my sweat!!! Don’t buy Oakley!!
