Just awful and completely unusable now! Used to be my go to tool but just rubbish!

Please roll back this atrocious change. Performance is so poor. The UI is very unintuitive.

I used to be able to rely on this tool and now it is really bad and will need to find an alternative.

I never leave reviews, and went out of my way to leave one as I am so disappointed.

I have been using this for years. It was excellent, fast, and free. However, they updated it recently, and it killed it. It is complete trash now. Broken, slow, and just straight up non-functional. Pdfescape is dead, hopefully they will revert to the old version.

New version is soooo bad!

I can not state how bad the new updated version of pdfescape is. Every time you make the slightest change to the document it loads for 5 seconds. It never does what you want it to do either. Please return to original version, it worked perfectly.

ABSOLUTLEY RUBBISH - the new update is horrible !
Convert it back to how it was please. I used this program for years - can't stand it now. Takes ages to load when adding and removing annotations + loads of other small irritating bugs.

Been using this website for YEARS with no issues and the first time I tell a friend about my "secret", we go and see it has turned into complete trash! It loads everytime you do ANYTHING and then when you want to "undo", it loads to undo it, then freezes and you lose all of your work. This happened every single time I used it since the upgrade. Horrible product. Already found something else. Praying it works.

Either revert back to the older version or PDFescape is dead. Apart from everything already said in the other comments, the link function is broken (now it adds a visible outline to the link area, wich makes it unusable). For the time being i'll keep using iLovePDF + Sejda editor to add links.

The new pdf escape is SO BAD. What a disappointment. Why mess up a good thing??? Now its super slow and frustrating. Not user friendly at all. WHAT HAPPENED??? How are you guys considering this improved??? To the creators...you try using it compared with the old version and tell me how in the heck you feel it is better because this is AWFUL.

As per other reviewers, the new update of PDFescape is a disaster.

I can only assume this was done on purpose to drive users to the paid version, or possibly to drive them to another app.

It's inconceivable that anyone actually put out this update thinking it was an improvement.

The new version is terrible, you can't drop and drag text, it's slow , why the hell would they change it , normally things are changed for the better but they have changed it to a crap version that I hate . i

Go back to the original. This is one of the worst apps in the world now. It used to be great, now it is horrible.

I agree with all of the other users who have outlined the changes that make this program no longer useful. I will be removing it from my regular routine and wonder if anyone has another free pdf editing program/site that you can recommend?

After the last update I find it more comfortable and practical to write with a chisel on stone, congratulations to the genius who thought up this update

I wish I could give it a zero. What in god's name have they done to pdfescape? It's as if they were bought out by adobe or paid to ruin the site completely. This is seriously a conspiracy theory level sabotage of an "update". Maybe Elon Musk bought them. I don't know. Delays between every edit? A text box that is harder to move than a mountain but spins like a bottle at a teenage party? The only way this site would be considered useful was if it was 1999 and it ran on America Online. If it ain't broke don't fix it is a cliche for a reason and it's one being used in countless reviews on pdfescape now. I seriously hope they re-fix it. I used them for years and have told so many people about them.

Previous Version was 100% better and near perfect. Now its this absolute headache to use. Will not recommend, maybe if the company used some customer surveys they wouldn't have changed anything. Now its just some modern crap.

I used to use the free online editor at pdfescape.com regularly and even anted up for the premium version. It was a fantastic, intuitive, user friendly pdf editor. With the recent "upgrade" in 2022, the online version has become unusable. The site is down often, and the tools, such as whiteout and text are no longer as customizable, so they obscure or don't match the rest of your document. In addition, there is no easy way to change the size of an element by dragging the corners as you could in the past. Luckily, I have Acrobat Pro, but the original pdfescape was actually easier than Acrobat for some purposes. Now, it's a waste of time. Don't spend any money on this program and look elsewhere for a free alternative.

My questions were answered very quickly and I was happy with the support and outcome!
