We’re sorry that you remain unhappy with the conclusions of our investigations. We appreciate that you have a different perspective, but our findings were based on multiple inspections by both our technical team and management, together with evidence gathered over several visits.

Regarding the blind, it was manufactured and installed in line with the relevant safety standards. The operating cord was intended to be secured behind the shutters using the supplied child‑safety device. During our visit, you advised our technician that you preferred not to secure the cord in this way due to concerns about moisture, which meant the cord remained exposed during normal use.

Our inspections identified prolonged moisture exposure, including black mould and moisture readings above 63%. These findings formed the basis of our conclusions about the condition of the blind and surrounding components.

We respect your decision to share your experience publicly, but we believe further discussion is best continued directly rather than through ongoing exchanges here. Our aim has always been to resolve matters fairly and constructively, and that remains our position.

We're genuinely sorry to read your review, especially as we've remained in regular contact since you first raised your concerns and have worked hard to investigate everything thoroughly and find a fair resolution.

Regarding the shade cords, a corded shade was selected and signed off during the survey process. Once your concerns were raised, we attended your property and ensured the installation met the relevant safety guidance. Although our inspection found that the damage to the frame was consistent with the condition and operation of the blind over time, rather than a manufacturing or installation fault, we've still agreed to replace the shade in full, including the frame, to help bring this matter to a close.

Following several visits from both our technical team and management, we've also arranged a further inspection to go over everything again and make sure nothing has been missed.

We also carried out a detailed investigation into the cracked and peeling wood, including taking moisture readings during multiple visits. These findings showed that the damage was consistent with prolonged exposure to high levels of moisture in the environment, rather than being caused by a fault with the product or its installation. During our visits, it was also noted that significant condensation was present and that the windows were regularly being wiped down to remove excess moisture. While we couldn't accept liability for replacing these components, we still offered a discounted replacement as a gesture of goodwill because we wanted to help.

Throughout this process, we've accepted responsibility wherever our investigations identified an issue relating to our workmanship or the components we supplied, and we've taken steps to put those matters right. Where our findings showed that issues were caused by environmental conditions or by the way the products had been used over time, we've been honest and transparent about those conclusions.

For more than 30 years, we've proudly supplied and installed shutters and blinds, and we continue to offer a 10-year craftsmanship guarantee because we have complete confidence in the quality of our products and installations. While we're sorry that you're disappointed, we don't believe the circumstances of this case reflect the standard of workmanship or service that our customers have come to expect from us.

We're committed to completing the agreed remedial works and hope this demonstrates that, even where we don't agree on the cause of an issue, we'll always do our best to work with our customers towards a positive outcome.

We’re disappointed to read your review, as it does not reflect the records we hold for your appointment.

Prior to your installation, we called you on two occasions by telephone. During these conversations, we advised that our installers were expected to arrive at approximately 10:00am, subject to traffic and any unforeseen delays, and this was acknowledged at the time. These calls were made on a recorded line for quality and training purposes.

Our installation team arrived at your property at approximately 10:30am and left before 12:30pm, once the installation had been completed.

We therefore cannot agree with the statement that there was no communication provided or that you were left waiting until 3:00pm.

We have also spoken with our installation team following completion. We are pleased to hear that the installation was carried out successfully and you where happy with the works carried out.

We always welcome genuine feedback where we have fallen short, but it is equally important that reviews accurately reflect the service provided.
