Would give MINUS rating if I could

Would give MINUS rating if I could. Booked in 2019 through RCI what would have been a wonderful trip with Collette through Europe for 2020. Trip postponed to late 2022 due to Covid. Checked 9 months prior to departure date for policy regarding cancellation without incurring a penalty, as I was monitoring the requirements concerning Covid and travel. RCI rep said I could cancel up to 30 days prior to departure to cancel if needed. (I also had travel insurance with Generalli Insurance.) Thought it sounded it too close to departure date; rep was supposed to verify with Collette and call me back. Didn't hear back from RCI. Forward to 4 months before date, I called RCI back, and found that I had just missed the date by ~7 days in which I could cancel without a penalty. The penalty was now a 75% loss. ($7500). At this time RCI states they had sent me an email earlier to give the cancellation date. Sending an email is NOT fulfilling your requirement to get back to the customer when previous communication was by phone. At that time period, I was not able to monitor my email account and had nearly 98K emails.
NONE of the parties involved, (RCI, COLLETTE, GENERALLI INSURANCE) took any responsibility for the situation. Each pointed the finger at a different entity. Because of incorrect information, and RCI's failure to correctly communicate with me the customer, I lost $7500; also paid over $1100 for travel insurance which was a waste as well.
It also took over 6 months and several phone calls to recoup the $1400 and change which is all RCI would refund me of my over $9200 trip. I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, EVER deal with RCI again.

This is a POS company. SCAMMERS

This is a piece of poop ass company. Edward who i spoke with on the phone made 2 unauthorized transactions with my card over 500$. I was then told a supervisor would contact me in 72 hours and the next day I was told there is no supervisor, only account holders. These people are SCAMMERS

RUN they are terrible!!!!!!!

RUN, RUN, RUN!

RCI is a rip off. I booked a trip and then canceled it 11 days later. I called today (a month and 1 day after booking) to see why my $342 was not refunded and learned that I only had one day to cancel the trip. One day grace period. This company is not worth it! I will not get my money back either and they said that no credit could be given. I will get my points back but I paid 80 to protect the points so thank God I did ugggh. Please run, don’t do it ! The timeshare business is a rip off too. I’ll forever tell the world to avoid this company and ALL timeshares!

Nothing was right

Nothing was right. I reserved, more than amonth ago, a resort at Grant Mayan Acapulco From 12 to 19 of march for 5 adults and one baby. RCI Accepted and charged me. Based on that I bought plane tickets for all my family. !3 days ago! I recived an Email comunicated to me that accoding to 1-3 pilicies of the resort my reserve was cancelled. RCI neve told me about that policies, homever they told me that at the moment of the reservation that policy appears. I have called you several times and finally today, Dominic, after carefully lloking find the note. I had been with you 26 years, also I am a platinum member, and you have no respnsability at all. It is a real scam. My number is 4361-00040.

DO NOT BUY

How do you expect to get individuals to buy a timeshare from you when you lie to them during the promotional stage?? We were promised several items when we were being encouraged to attend the informational session. Come to find out after the informational session we were indeed mislead. I am 100% happy that I did not sign any agreements with this company.

Worst company ever. Beware

Worst company ever. Total scam. They take your weeks and never have anything available in return then they make you buy extra time to use your points because there is nothing available. Over twenty years of points gone because I would no longer pay to keep extending the time. They wouldn’t even compromise in the name of good customer service.No real loss because their properties are run down and not in good places. Can’t stress enough. Stay away!

At your own risk.

My husband and I paid $3000 for this 3 year program to try it out. Every time we took a vacation we couldn't even use our points. We are in our last year with our points expiring this year and we are not going to renew or join. I guess it could be beneficial if you pick random places to stay and you have a week off to go. Keep in mind you still have to pay resort fees and an exchange fee to RCI.

Rci never booked my trip even though barge was pending on my credit card

If you were planning on buying a timeshare and you have to book through RCI do not do it. Every time I try to book either the site would go down and then when I went back in it would be gone, however the perfect example happened last night, I was booking my Trip to Hawaii for October, had the week that I wanted, got everything all enter the credit card, hit submit got a confirmation was told that I was going to get an email, saw the charge pending on my credit card never received the email looked into the account it was never booked. Charge was on my credit card pending now so you would think that it went through and because I didn’t get the email I called and they proceeded to tell me oh I’m sorry that week is no longer available you must’ve done something wrong, this is happened a ton of time also during Covid breakout the first year when there was no travel and people didn’t want you going in the other states RCI expired your points if they were to expire that year instead of extending them knowing that nobody could travel so you just paid for your points and lost them because there was a worldwide pandemic going on I wouldn’t have given them any stars however it made me give them one. Do yourself a favor if you’re going to get a timeshare look at a Marriott Hilton or Wyndham but stay away from any that have to do with RCI. It wasn’t so much that I had to have that week when I booked this I looked for a three month period to get one week, that was the only week that was available for that and not only was I booking my mom was also booking through her RCI and we needed a place that had a few of them available so when we looked for that week, I was able to get one and for some reason with her RCI it didn’t offer that we get offered it today. Sure no big deal. We overlap a show because my mom told her she called in and said I want these two and they’re like OK, but we have to do one at a time well because the clerk took so long entering the information, because her system was slow. My mom lost the second time share. She only got one so now, because mine didn’t go through and she only got one and there’s a few of us going or planning on going. my mom is the only one that can go so now she has a timeshare and none of us can go because we lost out on two of them, she called back to see if there was any other week of course not there’s three days or even five days and that’s what the lady told me she goes I can give you five days, I explained I’m playing from New York so that will be three days in Hawaii. I am not flying that far for three days. That’s why I needed seven and her comment to me was well it’s only two days short of the seven. So now we’ve just canceled everything with RCI and we are doing a different way.

I have been a RCI member for over 30…

I have been a RCI member for over 30 years. Originally we had weeks and could exchange without any problems. However over the past 10 years things are not as it should be. We have points now and have tried to to book various places in Spain, North America & Caribbean only to find limited weeks available. However, as most of these resorts are classed as Hotels too, I checked through Booking .Com and found available accommodation for the dates we required. Why is this so?
Having a Timeshare in the beginning was lucrative and giving you bargaining power to book anywhere at anytime at a drop of a hat. What is the point in having a timeshare if you have to book 2 years in advance.

We were supposed to stay at Oasis by…

We were supposed to stay at Oasis by Breeze (#DX87)
but at the last minute were were moved to Mangaby. No comparison, much lower quality resort for same amount of money. Then they wanted me to do an upgrade meeting at the resort that we were supposed to stay at! Several other couples were moved here with us from there also. If this place would have been a listing up front we would have never picked it. Didn't have much choice this year as our air fare was already paid for so we could change. Bate and switch, RCI shouldn't allow this to happen. It will ruin there company. It's to bad because we have used this company several times with great success. They need to clean this up.

Las políticas de la empresa son totalmente absurdas. Que no se te ocurra cambiar o regalarle un viaje a un ser querido, porque de la nada existen políticas en las que tienes que pagar casi el triple por un fee. Completamente fuera de lugar, nunca jamas en la vida NUNCAA!!! Se les ocurra asociarse con esta empresa. Perdida de dinero y tiempo sobretodo. Las únicas soluciones que dan es a los problemas que ellos mismos inventan, pagar por el hotel directamente siempre va a ser mejor que darle dinero a estos descaradas sanguijuelas que lo único que quieren es exprimirte. No le recomiendo a nadie nunca que haga algo con ellos.

Simply scammers and thieves .

I have a points membership made in the uk some by expectations holidays , lots of promises first and since 6 years I am trying to use my points to book in a decent resort or holiday always either full or zero availability, specially at Radisson resort golden sands Malta , waiting 6 years to book at this resort and never happen , I have almost half a million points outstanding now and can’t use them but I won’t pay my renewal membership and they can take me to the court I don’t give a penny .

Locked out of account

I have been trying to get through for days now on the phone but nobody ever answers as I'm locked out of my account. I have emailed twice and had no response still. I've set up a joint savings account and luckily my wife has access to the account still and she was able to also send a secure message on my behalf but had no response from that either which was about two weeks ago now. I just need my account unlocked please?

Money Hungry and Dishonest Company

Tried to undeposit my week and was given a ridiculous story that deposits are final and it’s essentially too costly to undo them. I don’t recall seeing a warning when depositing that deposits are final. Asked to speak to a supervisor and have now been on hold over an hour. I know how this game is played, I’m just on infinite hold. They are simply waiting for me to give up. We’ll, I didn’t give up but when the clock struck 9:00 PM EST they simply cut me off. Such a money hungry and dishonest bunch. The reality is they can’t make any money on exchange fees if I decide to use my home resort. My membership expires in February. I’m done with RCI.

Vacation Limitless (vacationlimitless.com) is a SCAM

I opened a credit card with Barclays RCI “Elite Rewards” while on vacation in Mexico in February 2021. Long story short, they charged $7900 to my newly opened RCI credit card with promises of discounted vacation deals, cruises and even a free week of vacation. None of which I ever got to use. They have a website, vacationlimitless.com where I recently paid (September 2022) $199 to have access to the website and the “promotions” until December 2023. The “promotions” are what I paid $9450 (more about this amount below ***) for in February 2021. Today my account is inactive. Any emails I send are bounced back and the emails are invalid.

I don’t understand how Barclays and RCI has teamed up with this fraudulent company where you can open a new credit card and be charged thousands of dollars for fake packages. They also go by “Vida Vacations”, “Limitless Vacations”.

*** $7900 was not even the total amount for the package offered. I paid $1550 on my Apple Card. In total, I actually paid $9649 with the recently renewed membership to have access until December 2023. Today: I don’t have access to anything I paid for. Almost $10,000 gone, just like that.

Heritage Resorts Marbesa Club Resort ID: 0304.

It is with the deepest regret that I find myself having to write to you about my weeks holiday in the Heritage Resorts Marbesa Club Resort ID: 0304.
We stayed from the 15th of October until the 22nd of October 2022. The resort looked nothing like the resort shown in your brochure. It was in fact really tired and run down and more than a third of a mile from the beach down a fairly steep hill. As you can see from the pictures below it was well below an expected standard. We did fill out a return from holiday questionnaire but we have still to receive a reply. All in all the resort was a complete let down and we would certainly not have booked it.

RCI IS A RIPOFF

RCI is supposed to be a vacation trading company that works with the members but there never is much availability in sought after locations. They will sell you availability in these locations but for a higher price than what you can get on your own. RCI Exchange Vacations has 5 UNITS available in the Florida Keys but has 2,610 units in the Keys available on their Extra Vacation section for cash and over 48 thousand units available on their EXCHANGE PLUS ONLY FOR CASH, can't use your timeshare points. OVER 48k units but only 5 units for vacation exchange, rip-off. RCI is a total RIPOFF, and I would never recommend joining. ONE OF MY BIGGEST MISTAKES WAS BUYING A TIMESHARE AND JOINING RCI. I WISH I NEVER GOT INVOLVED, LIES, AND LIES AND MORE LIES. RCI CATERS TO THE COMPANIES THAT OWN THE TIMESHARES COMPANIES NOT THE MEMBERS.
