Disappointingly average. While you cannot fault the extraordinary facilities at the spa (truly incredible) the finer details to match the cost are missing. Lots of staff but too much time spent giggling in corners rather than being customer first facing or clearing up used cups. Nice looking eatery but zero flexibility in their Plans (recent operation means I can’t eat big but not allowed to swap desert for coffee). Nice treatment range but commit the unforgivable sin of not providing 50 minutes as purchased. This is more expensive than Saltmoore but not got the customer care, twice the price of The Oaks with poorer food and more than Aqua Sana without the quality of treatment. At the price point I expect fewer compromises…. Last bit, they ask for feedback You give it. They do not respond!!

We have just returned from a 2-day 'reset' at Rudding Park and wanted to add our review to Trustpilot as quickly as possible.

We visit Rudding Park quite frequently and the reason that we return is simply because the staff, rooms and facilities are nothing short of perfection.

The restaurants offer the finest cuisine from the most attentive staff that one could wish for. The wine list is both varied and offers great value.

The facilities are some of the best that we have used across the UK.

The rooms are beautifully decorated, very well maintained, perfectly prepared and cleaned and are extremely spacious and offer guests one of the best sleeping experiences we have experienced, again, across the UK.

And, as previously mentioned, the staff are nothing short of perfection. Their attention to detail, service and support is, quite simply, second to none.

And, whilst on the subject of staff, we would like to commend three stunning staff who deserve our ongoing and sincere thanks.

Agnes (Agi) manages the Horto restaurant and always remembers us even though she meets thousands of guests each year. Agi greets us as old friends with a warm hug. We always look forward to seeing Agi and she truly shines like a beacon of happy, friendly, efficient and caring support.

Also, we want to extend our sincere thanks to Victoria (G) and Mauve for their kind and attentive service.

We would award 6 stars to the entire team at Rudding Park if Trustpilot would let us.

I have stayed at Rudding Park on several occasions for both business and leisure, and every visit has been exceptional. The hospitality is quite simply among the finest I have experienced. Every member of the team is attentive, professional and genuinely committed to making each stay memorable.

The spa is outstanding and deserves every accolade it receives. The team consistently go above and beyond, creating a relaxing experience from the moment you arrive. A special mention must go to Matteo, whose attention to detail, warmth and impeccable service always make a lasting impression.

The food is consistently excellent, showcasing quality ingredients and thoughtful presentation, while the beautiful gardens provide the perfect setting to relax and unwind.

The event spaces are equally impressive. Having attended and hosted business events here, I can confidently say they are exceptionally well organised, beautifully maintained and supported by an outstanding team who ensure everything runs seamlessly.

Rudding Park continues to set the standard for luxury hospitality. Whether you are visiting for a spa break, a special occasion or a business event, I could not recommend it more highly. It is a place I return to time and time again, and I look forward to every visit.

Ive not wanted to write a review but rudding park have left me no choice after I’ve spoke in person to staff members about the issues and nothing has changed.

I have been a member of the golf and spa for over a year and would not recommend.

Staff talk a lot behind members backs and gossip to other staff and members which is very unprofessional (especially at clocktower the staff are very poor) The service is terrible. I get disregarded sometimes when I eat there depending on who I’m with. Food is below average for the cost. Would strongly not recommend unless things change which I doubt they will as I’ve complained multiple times to managers and staff.

Every month I get a statement and most months it’s wrong overcharging me for things I haven’t bought at the restaurants etc.

The facilities are great and really nice place but how it’s ran and the service has made me end my membership.

Rudding Park always gives a five star service. You can stay anywhere in the world but this hotel makes you feel so special, we return every year as a treat or to celebrate a special occasion. Miguel always goes the extra mile to make our visit memorable. His team are so friendly, welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The food is always of the highest standard and the hardest decision is choosing which restaurant to eat in, we can’t wait to try fifty two. The spa is so relaxing all your troubles melt away and you feel so calm. We would like to personally thank Miguel for going above and beyond and always making our stay perfect.

Before booking, I spoke with the reservations team by telephone to discuss and clarify exactly what was included within the Stay, Supper & Spa experience. I was advised that the £35 per person allowance could be used towards both food and drinks at Horto Restaurant; however, this later proved to be incorrect in relation to drinks, which was frustrating.

The booking confirmation invited us to let the hotel know if we were celebrating anything during our stay at Rudding Park. In response, I provided some additional requested information and explained that this stay was a rare treat, primarily for my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I added that I would be very grateful for any special touches that could be included to help make the experience extra memorable.

I subsequently received an email response stating that a note would be made that this stay was a special treat for my wife and that the team would do their best to add a thoughtful touch to make our experience extra memorable.

While I appreciate that none of this was guaranteed, I knew from the moment we approached the reception desk and were asked the purpose of our stay that this information had not been relayed. Unfortunately, no thoughtful touches or acknowledgements were received during our visit.

After check-in, we visited the Clocktower Bar and sat in the courtyard. We were greeted and advised that someone would come to take our drinks order. After waiting approximately 15 minutes, we placed our order and then waited a further 10 minutes before our drinks arrived. I noticed two other couples were able to pay by card machine at their tables, but when we were ready to leave there appeared to be no staff around, and I had to go inside to find someone in order to settle the bill before returning to our room.

The itinerary we received consisted of supper at 5:15pm, followed by spa access at 6:30pm. In practice, this felt rather rushed, and I do not feel the process was fully explained beforehand. In particular, there was no clear information regarding the location of Horto within the spa area or the need to bring a bag and be prepared to change immediately after eating.

While we both enjoyed our main courses, we felt the dessert menu was somewhat disappointing.

The rooftop spa was undoubtedly our favourite part of the stay. The facilities were clean, and we particularly enjoyed both the infinity pool and the outdoor hot tub. Once our two-hour access had finished, we freshened up and returned to the Clocktower Bar, where the live music had just finished. We enjoyed a few drinks there before retiring for the evening.

Unfortunately, during the early hours of the morning, my wife became unwell and experienced vomiting, with suspected food poisoning. While we cannot conclusively determine the source, the Chicken Caesar salad was the only item that my wife consumed which differed from my own meal.

Sadly, this meant she was unable to attend breakfast and missed the final part of our experience.

The lady on reception was friendly and helpful when assisting with some billing queries and kindly provided cans of still water for our journey home. We remained at the hotel until 11am to give my wife additional time to recover and prepare for the car journey home.

1. The coffee machine in the room kept malfunctioning.
2. The towel in the bathroom was frayed and old.
3. The seat at the writing desk had white marks over it.
4. The windows had greasy finger marks visible over them.
5. The only full length mirror was blocked by heavy furniture.
6. The small phone charging point beside the bed did not charge.
7. Marks on the carpet, scuffs on the divan base and on the writing desk highly visible stains and marks.
8. Furnitur is showing signs of wear and tear, the glass surfaces of the bedside table are tired and paint is peeling off the surround.

In the gym
9. A very grubby and stained water dispenser, appears disconnected.
10. No water is available for guests in the gym.
11. Damaged carpet on the floor with serious staining.
12. The gym is cramped, not very clean and an absence of diffusers. Given this is a spa hotel it's shocking neglect.

Clocktower Restaurant
13. 4 small half slices of sourdough bread £5.50 - seriously.
14. 1 very small bowl of olives £7.50 - seriously?
My husband said the smoked salmon was tasteless and it came without bread/toast.
15. I had intended to have the Whitby Fish & Triple Cooked Chips. I enquired about the fish and was told it was cod. I asked if Haddock was available and it wasn't.
16. My husband wanted to order the Veal Schnitzel and was told that they'd run out. This was 7pm and first service.
17. My main was salmon en croute. The pastry was soggy, the fish tasteless and the new potatoes seriously under cooked. I returned my meal.
18. My husband chose roast chicken which arrived in a heavily stained container and food was smeared underneath and around the outside. Portion was very small.

General
19. I had booked through Booking.com and messaged the hotel in order to have a chosen wine in the room for when we arrived. It was a milestone birthday. The hotel sent a link that was not a wine list. I messaged back but received no response. I just gave up.

20. I met with the duty manager and a senior staff member (female) at the end of our one night. The bill was £551.95. I explained my unhappiness and that I would review our experience. The female staff member accused me of attempting to shame the hotel and of being negative. I said I was being honest as would my review be.

The duty manager asked me to email my issues, which I did. I have never received a response of acknowledgement of my concerns.

We left feeling incredibly unhappy. A waste of time and money.

We stayed this week. The hotel is immaculately presented, in spite of the fact that refurbishment was being completed to reception. The staff, without exception, are curious and very attentive, my definition of great service.

The room was spacious and very well presented. The food was exception.

Overall 5 stars isn't enough.

We booked a room but unfortunately one of the guests had Covid just before arrival. We contacted the hotel in advance to ask to amend the date. This was refused, and the response implied we could still attend if we wanted — which felt highly irresponsible toward other guests.

After further back and forth, the hotel eventually agreed to a partial credit of £295 toward a future stay, which was already significantly less than the original booking value.

When we later followed up to ask how to redeem this credit, we were told it was no longer available because we hadn’t explicitly replied to “accept” it before the arrival date — despite having raised the issue in advance. A remarkable and disappointing position from a hotel of this standing.

I'm sure this is just poor decision by untrained staff member - will update if anything changes.

And returning to our room after lunch, we were welcomed with a gift of Prosecco,delicious boiled sweets and a card, with love, from Julia and her team. This made our 60th birthdays extra special. Thank you to all at the clock tower.

Another birthday spent at the beautiful Rudding Park Hotel and Spa! We loved our stay. As always, the food was excellent (highly recommend the chateaubriand). The spa facilities are so luxurious and our favourite to visit. The room and personal touches made our stay even more special and the staff are all so friendly and helpful. This time we also did a round of golf and the driving range which we very much enjoyed. We are already planning our next visit!

Spa afternoon was lovely. Quite busy but each and every staff member made us feel welcome and always with a happy cheery manner. Biggest thanks to Chelsey and Emma who did our body polish treatment. Me and my husband had one in the same room with both of you..husband was snoring which made me laugh.. really lovely . For little people U sure have some power behind u to give us both the best treatment. Thank U!

Thank you for your reply to my recent review but I must point out the certainly one of the two other dogs {not and assistance dog} was walking about your hotel in both rooms of the corridor we were seated in and did so a couple of times before heading off down the way past the toilets. Sorry to point it out for information.

Stayed numerous times at this beautiful hotel, the last been in November, had an amazing collagen facial done by Ellie and it was probably the best I've ever had😊 Food was great, service was exceptional nothing too much trouble!

Lunch at The Clock Tower restaurant was totally delicious. Highly recommend the Xmas menu. Cauliflower soup looked thick but it was so light and flavoursome, sea bass cooked to perfection, and the chocolate and salted caramel mousse with fudge bits and honeycomb was absolutely amazing. Staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. Thank you

Wedding anniversay visit to Rudding Park Hotel and Spa and once again a fabulous stay we had.
Service and staff is as always second to none and the staff all go out of their way to give eye contact and say hello, or goodbye etc.
Food was amazing , we dined at Horto for a change and food was delicious, fresh tasty ingredients and great service in the restaurtant too.
Spa as always clean, tidy and lovely atmosphere.
We did the NYE house party last year and have now booked again for seeing 2025 , I would highly recommend to anyone.

POOR TABLE SERVICE RECEIVED .
We booked Sunday Lunch in the Clock Tower Restaurant . The greeting from a staff member was fine and we were escorted to a corner table in the restaurant . The drinks were ordered and delivered and shortly afterwards our meal order was taken . After a period of 25 minutes the meal was served but we had to request serving spoons for the vegetables. The first meal course was consumed but there was no member of staff attending our table and after 30 minutes we eventually spotted a staff member and was able to order our desserts . After a further long wait we reminded a further staff member that we were still awaiting the dessert delivery . The desserts duly arrived after a period of 10 minutes and we decided to order coffees which arrived not hot . The Sunday Lunch was fine but spoilt by the lack of service attention by the 5 members of staff and the restaurant supervision was not evident .

Really liked Rudding Park. The grounds are impressive, and the hotel is tastefully decorated beautifully. Nice furniture. And the spa.. just relaxation :-)

An amazing stay with exceptional service. The rooms were spacious with great facilities,panoramic views and large comfortable beds.
