The worst company with rude and nastyâŠ
The worst company with rude and nasty people caring only for themself not for others. The collect money from good harted people to build flats, new headquarter having them all empty and not paying for the work you do.The use the money you donate to fund their lifestyle living in luxury flats. Very small amount of money from donations goes to good causes, most of them goes to everyone in there. When they retire the organisation pay to buy a house to retire.I had the same experience with parking on there property when i done some work for them saying i am not allowed to park there because is for their people(the car park being masive with lots of empty spaces) a lady being parking manager being rude to me saying to move my car.
Over zealous parking attendant lady
Myself and my wife were regulars at the salvation army in worcester City walls road until today. We parked our car in their car park and proceeded to enter the shop and annoyingly a rather short lady from the shop followed us in and spied on us all the time we were in the shop. She was concerned that we may be using the car park and walking into town. When I confronted about this she lost her temper and gave me verbal abuse. We will never be visiting that charity shop again. We also heard others being harassed by her forceful parking questions.
By the way this was the third time this happened to us so it's now too much.
I bought some items from the OutwoodâŠ
I bought some items from the Outwood branch, Wakefield. I was happy with those. When I was leaving the shop I noticed a jardiniere and artificial plant and so enquired the price. £40 and £60, so £100 for them both!!! The manager said although the items had been donated, she was using them for display and so was charging more for them!!! Disgraceful!!!!
The prices are laughable!
The prices are laughable!! I saw something from HomeGoods that still had the HomeGoods label and it said $9.99. Salvation Army put a sticker over it that said 14.99 and Iâve seen this many many times itâs absolutely despicable. This was from the Nostrand Ave. Brooklyn store. Chipped , cracked garbage was SOO expensive!! Whoever does the pricing at this store and a couple of others is just trying to rip people off. It not the SAKSvation Army!!
EXCLUSION!âŠ
I address any reviewers who have been given the Salvation Army complaints address. Please don't bother to email them. I officially complained about an exclusion issue to the Bolton Citadel and subsequently emailed "Complaints" when Bolton didn't respond. Still no answer.
I have offered my services on numerous occasions but I have just been met with blanked silence. It amazes me that whilst they are so desperate for volunteers they can just dismiss me and yet don't dismiss my donations even though times are financially difficult for me and they're aware of it. I gave generously but I stopped attending on Sunday because it seems there is nothing I can help them with apart from cash donations. It took 4 attempts before I began to receive the monthly newsletter.I find that offensive, especially when I have been a Christian for many years. Maybe I should have a re-think about that one? My faith is waning fast.
I did mention to the organisers that the Citadel didn't deem me suitable for any voluntary work witout offering me a full explanation. I hold a fully enhanced DBS which is renewed annually and means that I can work with vulnerable adults and children and I have had public sector roles in which I have had full clearance. They must have their own rules and regulations which they are not prepared to discuss even though I've been nothing more but respectful to everyone I have met. They're simply not helping themselves by not responding and not vindicating their reasons amounting to defamation of my character which is unacceptable. It's hardly surprising, therefore, that they attract such a low attendance of newcomers on Sunday. It seems a constant battle with the uniformed against the non-uniformed (Us against them) and the word "Army" would deter many as all most people want is peace.
The last time I visited was on Monday 3 weeks ago when the main topic of conversation were the gifts we have to offer. I felt this hypocritical as they throw mine back in my face.
Would I confide in anyone there? You bet your life I won't. Ever so nice to my face but backstabbing is in abundance.
I've now learned from this experience to look after number one. For me it's about financial and emotional survival which can be difficult without support but it's possible to overcome with common sense and a logical approach.
Salvation Army needs Salvation
Went for an interview with a Contract Director. Arrived on time, and left waiting in the reception area for 20 minutes despite being told they "knew" i was there!
Telephoned contract director - straight to answerphone.
Finally walked out as clearly the Contract Director is incapable of managing her time or "too busy" drinking coffee and chatting.
Get a phone call 15 mins later asking if I'd gone to the wrong building! Doh!!
So kindly advised her of her short comings and she put the phone down on me - very professional
So well done to the clowns that run this "organisation" - you couldn't run a bath!
Rude & clueless
Dead loss. Female who answers phone is completely distracted and rude.Got my mobile no. wrong which left me waiting 5 hours in an empty house. When I rang to query the delay, I was told van off the road, had tried to call me, unobtainable.
When I rang to reschedule, she answered. No improvement in her attitude. Abrupt, dismissive.
S.A must be desperate. I hope she a volunteer, not paid.
St. Mary's will get my donations from now on. Pity because the van driver is polite & helpful
Rang the Salvation Army to collect aâŠ
Rang the Salvation Army to collect a super king mattress instead of skipping it. Was told when they arrived that they couldnât take it as it had a few marks on the underside, which the driver said looked like coffee stains. What do they want for free, a brand new item?
To be honest, Iâve been in the shop they would have been selling it and it absolutely reeks of unwashed, mouldy items.
You try help out, and they throw it back in your face.
i worked for them for a year for freeâŠ
i worked for them for a year for free and when i was not feeling very well i handed in my notice, few days later my doctor told me i have cancer, and to this day i have not heard from anyone at the sallies, not even a phone call to ask how i was, disgusting place they don't care about their workers, all they care about is money money, never will they get anything from me or my family again, the manager screamed at the workers in front of customers, complaints were made yet nothing happen she's still manager and still abusing workers
The Dark Side of Salvation!!!
I was a member/soldier of the Salvation Army for 15 years! I was taken to my first strip club in Tijuana Mexico at age 18 by a Salvation Army officer/minister! I witnessed and partook in theft of donations ( money & goods) whoremongering, adultery, sex, gambling & thievery was rampant in the corps! The Salvation Army is a scam!!! Trust me!!!
ive lived at william booth centre runâŠ
ive lived at william booth centre run by the sally army for nearly 2 years now,i've got my own studio flat here its run pretty well but theres always complaints about the food!!but we have residents meetings frequently were people can put there complaints to the managament but nobody hardly ever turns up!!all the staff are friendly and will help you as much as possible.im only giving it 3 stars because the lift broke and it took them 3 months to fix it!!!but were happy its fixed now!!!thanx guyus
You send £19 but never see theâŠ
You send £19 but never see the salvation army do anything and millions of old people alone again at Xmas. I will give No more as you do nothing even in this pandemic just like gps failed society Completely.
Absolute villains
Absolute villains - knew someone in desperate need of a shelter when she was homeless who was asked not to take ANY medication (she is immunocompromised and going off nervous medication would have been a death sentence)
It's all for the better anyway because apparently when you go there you are taken away from your phone and not allowed to do anything but work- effectively this is a prison and they act like they do you a favor
Not to mention the history of taking Aboriginal children away from their families and forcing them into residential schools... Whole organization is disgusting
Absolutely useless
Absolutely useless. The Newbury branch won't accept donations. My wife and I wasted £80 hiring a moving company to take 50 bags of clean clothes, winter coats, and bed linens to them, and they wouldn't accept it. Their manager said that their website was "misleading". "Misleading" is the same as lying, and for a so-called Christian organisation, that pretty much breaks one of God's commandments. I will never have anything to do with these people again. Avoid this place and the twisted values they stand for. They are not what they say they are.
I contacted my local office to offer brand new xmas gifts
I contacted my local salvation army in cwmbran this morning by email offering BRAND NEW baby dolls that i bought at the beginning of the year.I knitted outfits for these dolls and stated they were suitable for 3 years plus. There was a swift reply that i was horrified by saying that they dont take second hand stuff as santa doesn't deliver second hand stuff. He accused me of getting in contact last year but i never have.I have emails here which are discusting saying that to get in contact with ukranians in our local area as santa only delivers brand new to our children.I could go on It has upset me big time i will be taking this further.
I think they charge way too much
I think they charge way too much for their items in the filtonpark bristol shop way more than other charity shops. Also asked for a price to purchase a clock and was told it's not for sale as the lady wants it to stay as it annoys other staff, this is a chiming clock which we wanted to purchase. I thought people donated stuff to sale not for the shop to keep, and they should do something about their expensive prices. Wont be donating to this shop

An evil corrupt Charity
A dreadful Charity. Having spent time in one of their "lifehouse" environments I can confirm, if one isn't a pedo or former prison resident one will be treated like dirt. The Salvation Army doing care about morality they care about making money for themselves. During my time in covid isolation I was deliberately denied food. Upon being alerted of this fat Salvation Army chose to ignore it. Rather than being a Christian charity these evil people are entirely invested in making money for themselves and the scumbags that work for them. Please do not donate to this alleged charity. The Salvation Army really bad people and they don't do anything for actual vulnerable people they are only interested in serving their own interests. A really bad and deeply unsavoury cherry that do not deserve a penny from decent people. Unfortunately they pretend to be Christians but they are not. Not even slightly these are some of the worst people you'll ever meet on God's earth. They are liars and deeply corrupt to their call they do not listen to the voices of vulnerable people that they exploit.
I am very pleased with the shop locatedâŠ
I am very pleased with the shop located at 91 Dumbarton Road, Glasgow. The ladies there are ever so helpful, they will walk up to you immediately if you need information. The manager too is a lovely lady. I have done several purchases in month of sept and oct from this particular shop, and every time I had the same pleasant experience. Good job everyone!
You two lady's -you know who you are...
You two lady's made both mine and my mothers day today hands down. such fun friendly banter and huge warm hearts!
We came home with some lovely little goodies and much more! big smiles feeling lifted and excited for the day! thank you lovely people we will be back for another visit in the future.

Salvation Army has very lazy employeesâŠ
Salvation Army has very lazy employees at the donation door. Today, when I dropped off, their was huge empty box in front of the door so I could not pull up and and was 20 feet from the door. She motioned for me to bring my boxes into the back room area. I have boxed, loaded into my vehicle and now she wanted me to unload it into their facility. I told her that is not my job and began handing the boxes to her. She started pulling things out of the box that she said they do not sell. I know they do, because I have shopped in their store. I then picked up all the boxes I had unloaded and put them back in my vehicle and donated somewhere else. She looked at me funny because I took all the boxes back, not just the one she handed me. I let her know that because I wouldn't carry them into your back room ( I am not an employee and should not be back there), she was refusing my donation. No problem. Lost a customer in donations and in sales. Lots of other places will take, and did.
