Do you know how much these con menâŠ
Do you know how much these con men charge the homeless trying to get on their feet and if the get a job I'm sure they don't tell you that and also have the power to remove your reviews.... are you ready for it....
£940 a month give or take yeah that's right and the also kick people out onto the streets if they catch them drinking or smoking cannabis but then they supervise people taking heroin these people are not the work of God....
Elizabeth Etti amazing person.
The Salvation Army have been so wonderful, Iâve had a really amazing lady by the name of Elizabeth Etti. She helped me with housing forms and was very encouraging, helped me with free courses and learning skills for independent living.
I am a great admirer BUT
I am a great admirer of the Salvation Army but do not understand why, following a Christmas Appeal, ON THE SAME DAY, it not only charges a credit card with the £19.00 donation but also a 1 pence charge that is still showing on the account after at least 5 days.
PROPER CON ARTISTSâŠ
The Salvation Army is basically a CRIMINAL ORGANISATION collecting money from the public on lies, the first thing the money they collect is used for is SALARIES, EXECUTIVE SALARIES, Pensions, Company Cars, Luxury Offices and ADVERTS for more money, You see people standing on tne streets is all sorts of weather collecting money for this Criminal Organisation, I see elderly people collecting money at weekends, standing in the snow, While the SALLY ANN Executives are sitting in their luxury homes and dining and wining on the money these people are collecting on a volunterry basis, People need to waken up to this CRIMINAL ORGANISATION, And you see all the negative comments on them, I wonder if they will tell us how much money they pay on Advertising every year. So by the time salaries, pensions, cars other staff, luxury offices and adverising is paid for nothing is left to help those they allegedly say they are going to help. The Salvation Army is proud of its 80% dissatisfaction ratings it sriving as fast as it can to reach 100% dissatisfaction ratings by December 2022. See all the luxury offices they have all over the country, all paid for by contributions from the people they con out of money who thiink and believe it is for the poor, homeless and disabled, THEY ARE PROPER CON ARTISTS, You will not find any of their Executives standing on the streets in the snow at weekends collecting money. Before you contribute money to them, ask then how much of a salary, bonus, pension and the type of car the CEO gets, they will not be able to answer you that. Ask how much the slaries bill is for all the staff in the UK, ask them how much the rentals are for all their properties in the UK is, after all he costs of everything is paid, how much money is left to help the Homeless, Disabled, and people living on the streets. One of the biggest SHAMS in the UK for making money for yourself, is to register as a Charity, then all the money you collect will first be used for your salary, your office, your pension, your car and to pay your National Insurance and tax, Fantastic Legal SCAM. At the last count in England and Wales we had 169.000 (ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY NINE THOUSAND CHARITIS, That is 169.000 Legal Crooks conning the public, The Bullions of Pounds of Legal Fraud.
Extremely rude
Was in the East Grinstead shop today. Queued to pay, trainee cashier made a hash of the customer before meâs card transaction and had to call another member of staff. Once that was sorted, the member of staff instructed the cashier to start scanning the items that another customer had stored at the counter and added to as she went round the shop, totally ignoring me. No apology, no â Do you mind if I do this first ? â Total lack of manners, will never shop there again.

Discrimination againts the needy
The unvaccinated people have lost thier right to earn a living, to put food on the table and support thier children, they are becoming homeless, some are living in thier cars and many have taken thier own lives. The salvation Arm have turned thier backs on these people and will not allow them to shop in thier stores. May god have mercey on you. People and God will not forget what you stand for. Discrimination at its finest!
Jesus would never turn his back on oneâŠ
Jesus would never turn his back on one in need. Salvos will not serve unvaccinated which is mostly people in need of help. They won't even give blankets or towels to those whom are cold or wet, so where are your donations going ?
How is it possible to turn away those in need of help when the world needs love, isn't that what your all about .
Never again would I give or help the salvo. They have become a commercial empire. hypocrite's
I was brought up in the Salvation Army
I was brought up in the Salvation Army. I was first taken at 6 months. Travelled the country in the singing corps. I still have the uniform. The hat, the tie, the badge. The SABAC badge. I found my sisters bonnet, cape, tanborine etc at my mums recently.
I left as a teen as there was something not quite right. In my 20s i worked at the Salvation Army Housing association which was one of the most traumatic periods of my life.
Im posting a review now because ive just watched a video of someone who was refused entry to a Salvation Army facility due to not having a Covid padsport (In Australia)!!
Whst in goodness name had happened to this church.
Would be more than happy to buy aâŠ
Would be more than happy to buy a homeless person a warm blanket and food than to give you false people any money you lot should be ASHAMED of your self's
Is this still a charitable organization?
This is a review of 2 different salvation army stores.. I hope this is for the right company. This is NOT for the salvation army in England. Are they based in England??? Hmmmm anyway I have been going to the salvation army for the last year. I never went to them before because of anti-gay rumors.
I go to the SA in Minneapolis. My friend lives close so I'm in there quite a bit and spend quite a bit. I had a mahogany desk that I brought in for donation. I will enclose pics. I'm in enough to know who works there and one employee is a bigger guy with long hair. Very unfriendly. My friend who is in quite often and always greats this person and is completely ignored. We brought the desk around to the big loading door and rang the bell. The sign said they take items until 9. This guy came out and said he already locked the door so we had to bring it through the front doors. So we get a shopping cart, load up the desk, get it in the store about halfway through the store and he tells us the desk is too scratched up. I told him it's mahogany and has a glass top that was cut to fit that would cover the scratchs. He said nope don't want it. So we had to bring it back outside and load it back into my SUV. So this man watched us load this, bring it in and then told us no. He was very rude.
Here's an update... I sold that desk for 500 dollars. I didn't realize it was a Duncan Phyfe. Maybe you should school your cheery staff on what is acceptable. Your loss.
Also I'm not sure what's changed with your company but it's not good.. your stores are dirty and smell but your prices are going up. Everything is just as expensive as if you bought it new! I thought you helped people? Are u not a charitable organization? News flash... You aren't a NY thrift store. Shame on you!
visited the peterlee shop today
visited the peterlee shop today. We arnt from the area and have used numerous salvation army shops previous and had no issues. My 84 year old mother and myself regularly donate lots of goods to the store in our area and collect the stamps to spendin store .She was making a puchase and i also found an item which i asked her to pay with her own items as there was a que and i was still browsing.Thr assistant called for the manager as she d rang the goods in the till but wasnt sure how to deduct the stamps. The manager proceded to tell my mother she d spent £16 and only £10 is allowed per customer in stamps . My mother told her there was 2 of us but she said no and she couldnt cancel the trabsaction as it had been rang in. She procede to tell us no other charity give stamps out we were getting our goods for free and they may as well put them in the bin. I then told her they are not for free we donate lots of goids regularly to the charity and earn the stamps. She said you dont see the state of some of the things we get donated and i assured her our donations are always of clean resaleable quality . She eventually cleared of my item and took it in a seperate transaction and threw the reciept on the counter and walked off to the back roon if the shop sgain. Height of rudeness and especially from a nanager there to set an example to ither staff. A que of about 5 people witnessed this behaviour. My mother is a huge fan of the salvation army but will bever visit this shop . The whole experience was embarassing and totally uncalled for

Salvation Army Staff Damaged my vehicle 3 times !
So I work in a store a few doors down to the Salvation Army on beckenham high street. And all the stores (6 in total) have a shared car parking space which doesnât have any allocated parking. You basically just park where you can. All of us stores get on fabulously with one another but have all had problems with the staff at the Salvation Army.
Today I was verbally abused by the elder white woman in the store. I literally just turned up to start work and worked my car and was instantly addressed in a rude manor being told I canât park in the shared car park and to move. The first word out if her mouth to me was âMOVEâ. Not excuse me or I can I have a word. I told her you donât need to be rude you can ask nicely and she continued to say âMOVEâ over and over.
Obviously as one of the workers in that set of stores im entitled to park in the car park so I didnât move.
Then the manager comes out into my store pointing his finger saying I need to move the car out of the car park. I said no and that Iâm entitled to park there but Iâm happy to move my car back a little bit from your door. Bare in mind itâs a very narrow car park.
Instead he wanted me to park at the entrance and block all the cars in which I refused as itâs problematic.
So I walk to my car and he goes to his shop, as I walk to my car the manager proceeds to slam the back door of the Salvation Army store (which is a heavy fire door) into the front of bonnet 3 times and in front of my manager too. He dented my vehicle and a large scrape of paint work had come off.
When my manager confronted him and said you canât go round damaging peopleâs cars. He made excuses. My manager (and owner of our store) clearly stated to him that there are no allocated parking spaces and that anyone who works there can park wherever they find a spot.
When I told Iâll be calling the police he told he doesnât give a f!ck and to go ahead. Iâm beyond shocked that this is the behaviour from Charity shop workers. A criminal investigation is now taking place where I need to decide whether to press charges as police review the evidence. If I could give zero stars I would. I also have footage and evidence of the whole debacle as I have a security camera in my vehicle given that itâs an expensive car.

Absolutely appalling attitude
Absolutely appalling attitude. Firstly the home collection was booked for the afternoon. The driver called at 10am and decided to come earlier and gave us 10 minutes notice. Upon arrival the items were in pristine condition and the staff members were rude and decided not to take any items and said to the other staff member â weâre not having much luck todayâ. You should be quite honoured anyone even bothers to donate any items. I suggest to anyone donât bother as theyâre clearly rude.

If i could give 0 stars i would
If i could give 0 stars i would. The store is In Gateshead on High Street. Staff is extremely rude to people especially foreigners.
As soon as i walked in the door and was talking to my auntie in Bulgarian they started making weird faces even though we were talking very quietly.
When i was at the till i miscounted one item and i thought my bill was £11, when the lady said £13 i very kindly said "Oh, i thought it should be £11, can i just check again" to make sure i was cointing right.
The lady on the till and the one next to her was very rudely and agitated with me said "NO! It's £13!"
"But ok ii will count again, if our staff is being ACCUSED!"
She slammed the calculator on the till and started vigorously to calculate my purchases despite me saying after the 2nd item- oh that's fine.
She was huffing and puffing and rolling her eyes, while saying Sorry to the lady behind me even though i had only been at the till for a couple of minutes...
I told them they were being extremely rude, i was almost crying by that time... And i walked out of the store with tears in my eyes.
I am a care worker, and i always buy from charity shops and always donate money and clothes too, because i know the cause is very important. I will never set foot in this Salvation Army shop, and i won't let my friends and family be treated like that either. It's a shame they hire such rude people. This is not the first time i felt bad due to the bad behaviour of some staff towards me, but this time was completely humiliating...

Waste of space when you need help of them
How can they help anybody when they need help themselves to sort out their mess first.
Ramsgate, waste of space / time when you need help like I did and still do. I got no help what's so ever through the Covid19 pandemic. Being severe disabled & severe chronic ill I approached them for help by emails because I cannot use a phone. Sent emails to different personnel even asked them why I get avoided but got not one reply from them at all.
What a waste of space to have a place like that for people in need of help when they refuse to answer at all. Just another FAKE set up !!!!!!!!!
I have been very ill and disabled around thirty years and I just been forgotten under our British health system and now got so bad i cannot even get help with food. I tried so many places and the once getting all the publicity and positive recognitions on TV but when a person like me comes along I just cannot get any help at all it is like being an alien. I find our country is so fake when it comes to help the vulnerable it feels what you see on TV is just show just to make people think we are a great nation when it comes to helping, what a misleading picture this is.
I had other organisations getting in touch with them so they will help me but no such luck thy just refusing people like me to help. Same thing over and over again in the UK we cannot help our own people but we have no problems with people from Afghanistan to help, I am very confused or are we such a fake country?
They helped us only once due to embarrassment and told me due no delivery service like all I found so no help for people like me. They never came back with any other options either. Wonder how they treat the people like the Afghans? Something fundamental wrong in the UK !!!!
Rude aggresive staff
Peterborough store was appauling, extremely rude manager shouting at customers. Me and my wife walked out and won't be returning.
I used to love the salvation armyâŠ
I used to love the salvation army church and it's sad church numbers are down. It's sad that in years to come the founder may well be recognised as the founder of a shopping brand. Even my Asda have a big section given to the army who go through the clothes donations and shamefully label as vintage and charging so much more than new items near by. The Army provide a service and help people but I and others font hear much about it. I don't see the army reaching out to people and I don't see them in places of need there too busy fundraising. I don't see any places of worship or any corps open and because it's not financially do-able. The reason why the army was founded Is being jeapordised for s shopping brand. Often in some if the shops etc staff have no connection to the army just making a profit from the name. There's an army should be taking Gods Message to all people struggling or not yet struggling (as we all will or have been) and they must and I say Must!!! Not Sell Everything the Salvation army took years to build and there good reputation too. It's with a heavy heart I write this and it's with faith in the traditional values of the army and trust in God that changes will be made to get hearts back to God and hands to men by taking the minds off the business desire
They're Homophobes.
They're homophobes.
They kicked one of my friends out of a thrift store just for holding hands with her girlfriend.
The Salvation Army have done wonderfulâŠ
The Salvation Army have done wonderful acts of kindness for many homeless individuals, especially in my country, the United Kingdom.
However, some of the choices they make leave me a little uncomfortable with directly supporting them. I would suggest anyone thinking of supporting The Salvation Army to do a bit of research first, as although they have achieved a lot, thereâs still a lot of issues with this organisation that I donât think are in line with 21st century values.
