Well i get my glasses about 8 months ago with best lenses they offered with extra protection ,,anti scratch surface,,.
Basically from normal cleaning day to day with wet clothes specially purchase to clean this lens scratches start to be more and more visible from inside of the lens . Outside are fine.
Even at the bottom of lenses apper a big circle of scratches with rainbow colors on it.
I went in to Finglass store to ask what we can do about this and why this is happend if I don't use dand paper to clean my glass .
I whose told I clean them wrong way no warranty on lens they plastic and nothing can be done except replacement on another 305e plus service.
Well definitely bad replay as I didn't go to argue with them just looking for some advice and why this happen to expensive lens what in my opinion they should be much better quality .
Any way get out from shop with felling it's all my fault and nothing can be done just purchase new lens . Then after fiev month probably same thing happen again .
I will go to local optician now and see if there is better service and better quality lens as this one looks like they are expensive crap

Over on holidays from Australia. Excellent product knowledge and fantastic customer service... a quick shout out to Michael for his help with adjusting my glasses, a life saver!!!

I went to collect glasses after being advised they were ready, travelled 70km round trip, when got to store, i was informed glasses were not ready, I wasn't home 60 mins, got text to say they ready. I phoned asking why I was told they ready and weren't when I got to the shop.. asked them to post them out, was advised I would have to pay â¬10, I refused to paid as I had already been to store, they refused to post them without payment and assistant was very rude on the phone... I would not recommend them to anyone and won't be a returning customer

Tracy in Specsavers, Castle West Shopping Centre, Ballincollig, Cork was absolutely amazing! Super Smart and super helpful! A very chatty, outgoing and down to earth person. Specsavers are so lucky to have her!

It is three months since I collected my glasses. Over that period the screws have become loose leading to the lenses coming out. Each time I put them back in and tightened the screws however this has lead to damage to the screw heads. One lens is continuously moving around in the frame. I went for the dearer frames this time round in the hope of avoiding this problem because I had experienced the same when I got the cheaper frames at Specsavers previously. Unfortunately the problem persists. Loose screws and lenses popping out don't discriminate between cheap or dear frames. It is a pity because the in-store service was very good. Off putting really. (In response to the reply from Specsavers I don't have an online presence on Facebook, X or Instagram. I will look at alternative optician options next time around. It is good to shop around).
It just struck me that some people reading this review may wonder what the difference is between the dearer frames and various add ons and the cheaper options. After some discounts etc were taken into consideration I paid just under â¬500, which included Tailor-made varifocal lenses. Paying that also qualified me for a golden ticket which would be useful if I wanted another pair of glasses at a later date within six months. I did also get a pair of prescription sunglasses for that price. Tommy Hilfiger, and there was no problem with them at all. The sunglasses are exceptional.

i attended for my appointment the optician was very nice and extremely thorough, the staff are very nice my only issue is with the product, when i went to collect my glasses, the lense of the sunglasses were broken so i couldnt take them with me as they had to be re ordered,i took home 2 pairs one for reading and one for distance, that evening i checked my distance glasses and there was a chip in the lense so i had to go back again the next day, the man i dealt with was very nice and re ordered them again.
I spent over â¬300 euros on glasses and im still waiting a week later for my order to be completed, so now im using my old glasses which have a different lense strength and the new reading glasses which are totally different, so my eyes are constantly trying to re adjust when i change them over which carnt be good for your eyes.

Got my eyes tested today in an independent opticians and prescription was same as Specsavers the previous year. When the glasses that Specsavers were checked it was discovered that the right lense was not matching the prescription by a large amount. So happy now that I have moved opticians. Avoid Specsavers, ignore the big advertisements

UPDATE Thursday 24.04
1 Glassess collected on 19.04, 2nd pair of glasses ready today - Thursday 24.04 Almost a Month since my visit.
Specsaver - no need for me to DM you, you simply cannot look after your customers. If you are overwhelmed with the workload, hire more staff and definitely improve communication as no apologies were sent from your store to apologies for 2 weeks delay!
Glasses were due on the 12th of April, to date no sign of them and no update from Specsavers.
Communication appalling. Rang them Thursday to see would they have my glasses on Saturday the 12th as wanted to book my daughter for an eye test. I was told they don't know and there is plenty of free appointments if needed. Saturday the 12th, rang them at lunch. I was told that if glasses arrived they will text me. Of course no text, no glasses. Monday 14th still no glasses and no updates from them, not even mention apologies. There is plenty of local opticians that would be greatfull for your service as these people obviously aren't. Avoid, and support your local business.
With these guys you will pay 100s⬠for your glasses and you will be left waiting for weeks.

My wife broke the frame of her glasses. She went to specsavers portlaoise to see if they had the same frame in stock and transfer the glass from the old frame into the new frame. The first person told her that they had them in stock but it would be a week before they could get them. A second person then told her that they had no records of her and that they did not give her the glasses that she had with her. Then a third person came to see what the problem was. He went and checked the records and verified that they had supplied the glasses and was able to sort out the problem and transfer the lenses into a new frame.

avoid if at all possible, from the moment i walked in the door I was being coerced to purchase additional products and services. everything was an Extra. Go and support a local optician

Useless Company ,They should tell you before you spend your money, that you will have to wait 2 WEEKS before your glasses are ready.... if i had of known that before i spent â¬100s i would have went elsewhereð¡ð¡ð¡ð¡ð¡, i wouldnt even give 1star..... DO NOT BUY HERE, There are much better opticians out there where you can get your glasses a day or 2 later...

I am writing just out of annoyance and frustration with the very tedious process. Not targeted to any staff members as they were very lovely and I know they are just bound by protocols.
Iâve been using contact lenses for easily more than 15 years.
Attended for an annual checkup, minor tweaks to the prescription. Paid 40euros for the checkup which seemed fair.
Trial lenses were ordered in, had to go in for a fitting session, and a checkup after Iâve got them in. Another 40euros out. Okay.
Everything was going well, so popped down to order more lenses. No. Have to come back for ANOTHER checkup, thatâs another 40 euros. And on top of that, whatever charge thatâs going to be with the lenses.
So Iâm out 120 euros with no lenses.

Had a really bad experience here starting in January 2025.
A lens in my current pair of glasses got scratched so I went to Specsavers Dawson Street to get them reglazed as well as get a second pair reglazed to have as a backup. The man who did this for me was clearly unaware of the operations of the store as he told me I could pick them up in 10 days which would be a Sunday.
On that Sunday, I called to see if they were in and I was told the lenses âshould be inâ but their lab doesnât work on Sundays so they wouldnât be able to install them.
I then had to wait until I was in town which wasnât for another 5 days. I received an email before that saying that the lens for my scratched pair had a flaw so they had to be redone but the others were fine. I went in to collect and immediately came back as the prescription in one lens was completely wrong.
I then had to wait another week and a half, where I had sent another email and it wasnât responded to until I followed up on social media. I was offered a refund at this stage. So I went in to pick them up and they were still wrong (the height was wrong). So they had to be sent back again, I will say the woman I dealt with at this incident was very nice and said sheâd be the one dealing with it from there on out and also offered a free pair of sunglasses (I assumed I get them when I picked up my sunglasses).
Cue another week and a half, where one pair came back but the other still had issues. I was sick so I had to wait to come in. I came in and the woman who helped me before was there but she got a different person to assist with me trying them on. This was the final straw. While the glasses were fine, I ended up leaving them and saying I didnât want them anymore due the treatment I received from this woman. I did not get her name but she was very rude and condescending when I told her that the glasses were crooked (as I saw out of them) because one ear is lower and one eye is higher on the left side of my face. I tried to explain but she kept telling me to âlook in the mirrorâ because they were straight on. When I told her that when I am wearing them Iâm not looking in a mirror all day but out of the glasses she said, âSo you want me to make them crooked?â I told her my current pair of glasses are not crooked (which you can see when you look at them on my face). At that point I was so upset I told her I donât want the glasses and that this has been a waste of time. No apology, just âokayâ. I sent an email on this explaining how upset I was after everything but no response to that either. No apology or anything.
I donât want the glasses anymore and this has cemented their complete loss of business. Go to a local optometrist instead.

Specsavers ããã®åç
Avoid at all costs. Unbelievably bad service and company is just using its household name to keep customers returning. Find a local optician.

One â only because I can't leave no stars!!!!
Somehow they have 4.5 â on Google!
I used Specsavers Ballina Mayo Ireland booking the family in for eye checks and bought their glasses with all their upsales for three.
My wife had cataracts developing and two years later went back for her eye check update. The appointment was booked by Specsavers at a day and time of their choosing (Thursday 12:15 pm)
The Ballina store emailed - texted and phoned to confirm her time/date/attendance.
She arrived 15 minutes before time and checked in with their front desk/reception and took a seat as instructed to wait Infront of the optometrist's office.
40 minutes after her appointment time and still uncalled she went back to reception to be told she had been overlooked "oh! We forgot you."
"Just take a seat for a minute and I'll see if we can fit you in.."
Astonished she politely turned her kind offer down and left!
Absolutely appalling our day completely wasted. She was visible to staff at all times. What in god's name did they think she was doing sitting there in their shop - in their waiting area for almost an hour as they walked past her?
This franchise/ "partnership" is owned by two women who really need to be audited by Specsavers because to triple confirm an appointment causing a day to be wasted plus driving, parking etc..is amateur hour and appalling customer service.
######To Specsavers reply######
Happy to post my X post and my responses to Specsavers "DM us" request here if you'd like?
I'm also happy to publish my wife's email chain with the "Retail Director" of the store in question.
The first thing you will note is that in keeping with your trust pilot reply, and X messages - and emails nowhere in any of them is there anything resembling an apology.
What an appalling customer experience this has been. My wife's experience can't be alone.

I am 5 months waiting for my glasses from Specksavers in Limerick and I can only get through to a call center and the assistant was very unhelpful and when I sounded annoyed she got more unhelpful and spoke over me, she would not get manager and hung up. When we again phoned Limerick 061312822 I was kept waiting for 8 minutes only for a machine to tell me my call would be noted. This is not a 1 starre view, this is a -5 star

I went to Specsavers Mallow to get new glasses and frames for reading and distance wear. The eye exam wasn't exactly great the optician was highly opinionated. But the real issue came when I got my readers, he made the prescription stronger than usual saying that a coating later might work if they didn't suit. I informed the assistant i didn't want any coating and she was fine with that. Skip to a week after getting my reading glasses. I can't use them. Everything is blurred. After being informed by the assistant that if they don't suit i can have them replaced. I returned to the mallow store and was informed that they can indeed fix the problem but it will cost me over 200 euro for this coating. Avoid this particular branch unprofessional and only interested in ripping the customer off adding stuff not needed or wanted. I am now left with having to go to a real optician and pay again for glasses already paid for. Not happy at all.

I found the staff in Portlaoise good and they were professional.
The premises is completely inadequate. It is way too small and claustrophobic. There is no customer toilet and no drinking water available. Staff are falling ovef each other, never mind customers. I was there for 2 hours with my elderly father and the experience was very unpleasant for him.
