Beware of this place , pay £500 deposit for 7 series to hold deposit, no everything go smoothly and finance company delayed pay out . Was in contact dealer every few days . I getting phones and emails with different persons and they putting pressure on me all time. I did explain that is out off my control and they should contact finance company . Situation get mad and sale manager ring me angry saying if I not pay money they will put car back on sale , Totally shocked how they speak with customers.
I was declined to not deal with them and requested deposit back . Money still not returned and dealer not responding to emails

Please aware off this dealer , they pretending to be BMW but they dealing Like from dodgy corner garage .

I will report them to trading standard and also put complaint to BMW uk

I part exchanged my car at bmw Harrogate for the newer version bmw 1 series. I dealt with Derwyn thought the exchange and the service was fantastic. I would definitely come to this bmw dealer again, thank you!

Took the car in for a brake fluid change as it was low and asked them to look at a juddering when breaking and to assess the handbrake. They said it would be £150 for diagnosis of the juddering I said that was fine and told the we replaced the discs and pads because if this issue already. Communication was terrible I was told it was the brake discs and pad as they were non genuine (they are) I provided the receipts to Daisy via email showing the purchase of them from bmw Douglas Park. I was told she would look into this as she believes they are still non genuine and that she would call me back in the morning. I waited and called at 11:45 I was told she would call me back 3 hours later still no call back so I called again to be told she was in a teams meeting and as soon as it finished ahe would call. 30 mins later I received a call from another lady telling me it wasn't the brakes after all and they are genuine and if I want them to look into the problem further it would be another £150 for diagnosis. I argued that I should not have to pay again and why should I pay for the first diagnostic when they hadn't diagnosed the problem or tried guessing it was the breaks misdiagnosing it they had the car 3 days!
I ended up paying for the first diagnosis but I'm currently on sick pay due to having cancer and really can't afford to be paying £100s of pounds for guess work.
I WILL NOW AVOID THIS FRANCHISE WITH ALL COSTS AS THEY ARE HAPPY TO TAKE YOUR MONEY AND LIE TO YOU AND NOT FIX YOUR CAR.
Another lady in the waiting area was having the same issues. You would be better using a local honest p7garage.
Thanks BMW for making life more stressfull than it needed to be and ripping me off.
Also to add the handbrake has not been adjusted or looked at.

Ordered new BMWcar from Stratstone Harrogate 14/4/26. Had to cancel order on 15/5/26. Took over 2 months to get my deposit refunded and this only happened after I threatened Court action and involved BMW and Lithia (parent company of Stratstone).

We purchased an ex-demo 1-series from Stratstone BMW Harrogate. They handed over a vehicle with visible paintwork damage with a commitment to book the car in subsequently to repair/rectify this, but once the car was sold they have not replied to multiple e-mails and phone call messages to resolve the issue. Absolutely appalling after-sales customer service - I have never encountered anything like this. AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP!

Enquired about a car I have cash to buy then got bombarded by their useless AI system. I will not be buying a car from this embarrassing company.

I took my car to a BMW Approved Dealer expecting professional, competent service. What I received instead was shockingly poor workmanship and an equally dreadful complaint experience.

The repair they carried out was unsafe — and not in some subtle, technical way. It was immediately obvious. The fact that this passed through their technicians and quality checks without being noticed is deeply concerning. For a brand that trades on precision engineering and premium standards, this was unacceptable.

When I raised the issue, the complaint process was just as disappointing. There was no urgency, no accountability, and no sense that customer safety was being taken seriously. I was left chasing responses and feeling like an inconvenience rather than a customer who had been put at risk.

There are very few alternative BMW service options in this area, which makes this even more frustrating. Sadly, this experience has made me seriously reconsider owning another BMW — not because of the cars themselves, but because of the substandard and careless service backing them.

I would strongly advise others to think carefully before trusting this dealership with their vehicle.

Horrible experience just now. Came to look at an X5 and DERWIN who was in the entrance on arrival couldn’t have been less interested if he tried. No X5 in the showroom so asked if he had any we could look at outside, ‘NO’was the response. How about the one parked out front we asked. He got the keys reluctantly, knew next to nothing about the car and when I asked if I could test drive he said NO. I’m getting an X5 through work and he essentially told me to go through our agent to test drive, why? I’m standing in front of you and you’re doing absolutely nothing at this moment in time. Land Rover and Mercedes couldn’t be happier to help me and have test driven a number of their cars.
My experience just now completely puts me off getting a BMW. £82,000 just walked away.
Worst experience I have ever had. An experience that should be exciting. Get rid of the pinstriped, miserable salesman who made 2 women feel incredibly unwelcome.

AVOID this dealership, go to Leeds or York.

If your in the market for a hassle free and professional sale and approach I would recommend , I’ve recently upgraded to an approved used bmw x5 from Imran and cannot recommend enough , thanks guys

I purchased a BMW Approved Used vehicle that was delivered with visible paint defects and had to be returned immediately. It was redelivered days later with the same issues still present, and I was expected to accept and assess the car in poor light. I was also asked to complete insurance and registration before I had even inspected the vehicle and was not given a clear option to reject when concerns were raised.
Within days of driving, the car developed an engine fault requiring repair, and further electrical issues have since arisen. An authorised BMW bodyshop has confirmed the paintwork condition would not meet Approved Used standards.
Communication and customer care throughout have been poor, with delays, conflicting information, and a lack of accountability. The matter is now with the Motor Ombudsman.
Very disappointing experience from a main dealership and not what I expected from a BMW Approved Used purchase.

I took my X1 in for a service and the experience with Harrogae BMW from start to finish was excellent. Until recently I have always used BMW Stratstone Leeds but their customer service and accessibility was extremely poor in every respect but the experience with the Harrogate team far exceeded the one provided by their Leeds counterpart. Harrogate kept me up-to-date on progress and even answered the telephone promptly. I have been waiting over 20 minutes on several occasions for the Service department in Leeds to answer the phone. Tasha and Jay were both friendly and welcoming.

We had a fault with the washer system on our 1 series after speaking to Natasha everything was resolved with no issues. 10/10 for your service thanks Natasha.

I have just had my BMW in for a warranty repair and major service and the quality of the work and customer relations was superb from start to finish. I was assisted by Tasha, and mainly by a charming and genuinely helpful sales guy with a pony tail, beard and glasses (sorry I have forgotten the name) who provided the sort of service one always likes to receive but rarely does nowadays. I was kept informed throughout the process, the courtesy car process was seamless and of high quality, the work undertaken by BMW was excellent and when they undertook a service by accident, they did the right and proper thing and subsumed the cost without charging me. BMWs are superb cars, I have dealt with Stratstone Harrogate for a number of years and, to be fair, i have always encountered the same quality of service from them, and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them/purchase from them again.

Took my car for a brake fluid service at Stratstone BMW Harrogate. Although I had to book the appointment 5 weeks in advance due to availability their service was excellent from the after sales staff. My car was ready earlier than anticipated and they could have not been any more friendly, polite or helpful.

I'd just like to thank David @ Harrogate Stratstone....
What an really nice chap, along with being extremely helpful with a recall, and keeping me upto date with my vehicle, if only all services advisors were like David.

AVOID! Should have gone to Leeds! Car went in for a re-call, came back with a further problem, technician said he couldn’t find the problem, had to go back myself to show them, only took me to get to the end of the BMW garage entrance to show noise they couldn’t find! Don’t think they know what they are doing?!

Absolutely disgusted with the service and threats made by their Service manager. Very unprofessional, left me and my young family without a vehicle, only concerned about getting their courtesy car back, no consideration for the customer. They still have my car with problems and are trying to runaway from helping me. Terrible experience!!

It's with sadness I write this review. I took my car in for a brake service with no issues at all about a month ago. After a check all round d I was advised to have rear pads done along with works on athe e brake which meant the price went from £155 to just under £600. I agreed to the work. So the issue began when my fiancé picked the car up and called me to say there is a loud sqealing noise from the car. I reported this straight away to the garage who said please bring the car back. As my partner was at home which is round the corner I said I can bring the car back at a more suitable time. So after no driving the car and being able to take it today. I was told I had to pay an extra £180 for diagnosis. But the issue has directly.been caused by the work. So I refused to pay for an issue caused by the garage. Someone eveve reported my partner had drive with the handbrake on which is a total lie as she had only spoken to David?! Now I'm left with an issue caused by BMW Harrogate who I feel now are just here to get as much out if you as possible. Very disheartened about the situation they have left me in. I now have to look at options in getting my money back for the work done and getting said issue fixed. Handled poorly by the service manager who at first gave a good impression. If you use them be wary of the upsell they even use your data on services to cold call to upsell service plans and I can only Imagine the script they use and David even said it is a poor way of going about things. I'm so disappointed after using the garage for many years.

I cannot praise the team at Stratstone BMW Harrogate highly enough and I delighted with my recent purchase of used 420i gran coupe. The car was presented in mint condition and the process of buying and trading in my old car was very smooth and efficient. Shak, who I dealt with, is very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. All aspects of my buying experience with the team were first class. Every part of my contact, be it phone calls, emails and meeting with Shak, to seeing David in the showroom, and being introduced to Ben after purchasing the car, left me with a lasting favourable and positive impression of the dealership.

From our 1st meeting with Shak he was nothing but helpful, very thorough ,not pushy I’m anyway. He has kept us informed at every step, he’s made changing our car this time so much easier than previous times . Excellent in every way .
